Dear Ford: My fiancee cries all the time because I can't afford a new Mustang for him. We have explained to him that whining about what you can't afford is generally the best way to get what you want in life, as opposed to saving up your money and actually paying for it, so why don't you go ahead and prove that something for nothing is a totally justified thing to ask for, by sending him one. PS: We want the GTO.
Whether the writer's intent was comedy or not (and I fervently hope that it was) this letter is a joke.

"My nephew cries all of the time because I can't afford an XBOX 360 for him for Christmas."
Wow, that's sad. Where are this kid's parents? Where did he get the idea that THINGS are worth crying over? And what's up with telling the kid that your financial condition is Microsoft's fault?
Maybe I should send a whiny "please help me" letter to Ferrari because I can't afford their cars...?

Why is M$ evil and greedy? Because they produce products that people want? Wouldn't that make the consumers evil and greedy? Bill Gates also is one of if not the largest donater to charity there is.That's never mentioned. Evil and greedy would be to make all that money and keep it.

Hey, dude let us know if Bill Gates sent the kid the xbox360. If he did, I could use a new house I can't afford so I will call Century 21 and request a free one.
I could use a new car, too. The possibilities are endless!

What I wanna know is how do I get get of all the XBOX 360 spam messages in my Yahoo acct? Each new message comes from a different (and ficticious sounding) address, so using the email address block really does no good. Is there anyway to block all messages containing the string "XBOX" or for that matter, "WALMART CUMSOMER #99999", etc, so that I never get these messages, even in my spam folder?
For billions of years the world survived without XBOX's, Walmarts, lotteries, etc. Now it's a daily fight to keep these things from consuming our lives.

If you've ever wondered why kids today seem messed up. Here's the reason. With all of the problems in the world this kid is crying over an XBOX 360. Give this kid a subscription to Newsweek or Time. Let him learn about the world and the XBOX will seem trivial.

Yep get a free 360 but pay for a controller, a TV adapter, and the games.
Get him a board game, a hobby, a bike, get him into sports! Geez we're raising fat bodies that don't know how to interact with others. Gimme, gimme, gimme... I need an Ipod, I need a cell phone, I need a computer... What they all need a sense of appreciation. I bet you there are a couple of toys that are brand spnking new that weer never even touched. Tell him "GET OVER IT!"

I have to say this is the best letter I have read. I did see a news article where a guy was selling his son's 360 for $100 because the kid was a brat and punched his mother demanding she give his stuff to him prior to Christmas.

Well, Microsoft IS evil and greedy. Thats why theyre so big.
And, no, even good and generous companies (not charities) will not just give Xboxes away for free.
First off, why is it YOUR responsibility to buy your nephew an XBox? He's not your son.
Second, even if he were your son, he has to learn he cant always get what he wants.
Finally, even if he were your son, if you can't afford something, you cant afford something. I'm not sure the cost of the XBox 360, but, the new upcoming Playstation 3 is going to be $100 cheaper than what Sony paid to make them. It's still going to be around $400-500. So, greed isnt always the bottom line. Some things are just expensive. If you want to be able to have these things, you need to save for them. But, again, I dont see how its your responsibility to get your nephew an Xbox. A game, fine. But, not the system. Children dont need to be spoiled. They need to learn what giving and receiving is all about.

Do what most Uncles do, buy one and give it to him. Corporations aren't greedy or evil. Last time I was watching TV it was the consumers standing in line stomping each other on Black Friday for materialistic things...
Your nephew is better off without it. Too many kids are overweight and don't read.
If I had to guess it sounds like the uncle wants the Xbox and is trying to play on sympathy to get one.
What is our society coming to?

Buy the boy some books and get him hooked on phonics, an xbox is not a necessity. In 6 months there will be another thing he wants. Better yet get
him a library card! Teach him the value of human relationships and it is what you give not what you get that is more fulfilling. An xbox is just a hunk of metal that certainly cannot return any love when needed!

The idiocy of some people shows no bounds! This letter is an example of what happens when people marry their sister/brother. Futhermore, some people expect that things should be given to them... just like welfare. So in short, you ignorant waste of oxygen, do everyone a favor and stop breathing!

I am sorry that you have an impatient whiney nephew but Sony is actually losing money on the XBOX360 right now as it costs more to make it than they are selling it for(they are making their $$$ on the games and accessories). Also it's pretty lame of you to use the "observe the Christian holiday" to get someone to send you a free one. The holiday is not about big gifts and it's obvious that you haven't instilled that in the whiney kid.

You need to check yourself into rehab for all that crack you smoke, that would probably be the best Christmas present your son will ever receive. My husband and I both work our butts off every week to give our family a good loving home, and we expect NOTHING for free.
Maybe you should get a job, and open a savings account and give it to him for his birthday.

My nephews are lucky to get a look from me at Christmas much less an Xbox. If you want him to stop crying, get a job, save your paycheck, and buy him a book so he can develop an imagination. Reading expands the mind in ways that no video desensitizing game ever could. And you're reading this Bill, Stan the guy in accounting, he's the evil one in your company, thought you should know.

Maybe you should teach him that you can't always have what you want in life, that certain things are not necessities. If he cries about it, maybe it's time for him to be sent to his bedroom until he stops.
Personally, I'd like to have a Dodge Viper, but there's no way I can afford one on my income. Does that mean that Dodge should send me one for Christmas?
I think you need to re-evaluate who is being greedy here. There are people in this world that don't even have food to eat or a warm place to sleep this Christmas.

You want to know what's unfair? I've been sitting here for three hours straight, observing the Christian Holiday, and just wishing and wishing for a pony. And what have I got to show for it? Zip. No pony. Just a heart filled with broken dreams is all.
Stupid evil corporations. I was gonna name that pony Waffles and spend the day feeding it carrots and brushing its mane. But no. Thanks a lot, Microsoft.

I'd like them to send me one also.
they are way over priced, its a gimic to get people to run out and buy the thing. Better Graphics.......I've heard most of them have been returned due to no fan for the unit. It over heats.
Not sure any company will send out any product they are making mega bucks on. The XBox 360 needs all the accessories to make it work. At about 600.00 per customer.
Yea I want one too. I'll sell mine on EBAY for 1000.00

Not everything in life is handed to you. Its pretty sad that you're teaching your nephew the opposite. He wants an Xbox 360? Then get him a job selling lemonade and make him save up his nickles until he gets four hundred dollars worth. Better yet, since you think everything should just be handed to him, why dont YOU save up YOUR money and just 'hand it over to him' yourself?

Wow, I can barely afford to pay my rent, I think I deserve a free XBox 360 too!
I think your nephew needs to get away from the TV and go play outside for awhile. I also think his stance (and yours) on material goods needs to change. Not having an XBox isn't the end of the world and it's certainly not worth crying about.

Timothy, you've managed to chock this short diatribe with so many wrong wrong WRONG notions, I have to congratulate you.
The XBox 360 is not a life-support system; it's a high-priced luxury item.
If Microsoft sent you something that would truly "...observe the Christian Holiday...", then you should be getting that Bible from Bill Gates any day now.
(The only thing I'll agree with you on is that Microsoft is indeed evil.)
But let's face the hard truth here. There is no nephew, is there?

Doesn't matter if you can afford an xbox or not, there are none available.
Maybe you should observe the Christian Holiday and focus on the reason we celebrate Christmas and not the XBox. You sound very hypocritical. Maybe you can explain entitled, greedy people to him after you get done telling him about corporations.
