One broken Mop!!!
Posted Fri January 27, 2006 12:00 pm, by Melissa G. written to Clorox Clean-Up
Write a Letter to this Company
I bought one of the clorox mopping systems and had it for 30 days and it quit working! I never used anything but the refill on it. Im upset because I cannot afford to just throw money away as my husband has to take shots that cost us $6,000 a year w/insurance!!!
I love and use other clorox products expecially the wipes. Im just dissapointed in this product!!!!
I would like my money back or some replacements products or something!
I would also like some info on that new spray cleaner I heard you have comming out!!!

This is a good letter and a valid complaint (may I suggest getting a Swiffer?). However, there really is no reason to mention your husband's need for medication - it tends to make it look like you're using that as a reason why they should give you a free mop. I personally didn't get that impression (a rarity for me, believe me - I am usually the first to jump on those who mention ailments) from this letter because, as I said, it is a totally valid complaint and you SHOULD get a free mop. I'm just saying that his medication is not germane to your complaint and should be left out. Saying you cannot afford to throw money away will suffice.
Other than that, as someone else pointed out, you might want to lay off the exclamation points. They tend to detract from the validity of your complaint.
Good luck - I hope they respond.

The letter is good but next time leave out the exclamation points that make it appear angry and demanding. I like your website by the way :)

This is a very valid complaint! There is no reason why it should have broken yet. 30 days is ridiulous! It should have worked longer than that.
However I suggest that next time you write a company you leave your husband's health condition out. It will not make or break your case as the company does not care. Not saying that I don't care, just saying it won't help your case.
There is nothing wrong with using a $25 mop! You don't skimp on cleaning... especially if a loved one has health concerns.
Also I suggest you e-mail greg@planetfeedback.com and ask him to remove your home address from this letter.
Good luck with your letter!

Buy a regular mop. If you're going to whine about how expensive something that has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with the subject is then you are just going for a freebie.
I was with you on the complaint, right up until you mentioned the medicine.
And you are one SNOTTY xtian, I gotta say. Your responses are less than xtian.
It's not "mean" to state the simple fact... If you cannot afford it, don't buy it.
If it breaks, complain about it but don't make silly grabs for sympathy by mentioning completely irrelevant issues.
Oh, and don't pray for me to get a job. I'm posting now, because I got home from work about 30 or 45 minutes ago.

Might I suggest you buy an 'ordinary' mop, rather than some high-priced item? Especially since you have to spend $6000 a year w/insurance for shots for your husband. I really don't think you're entitled to a refund/replacement. I think this is just a ploy to get a freebie--such as the new spray cleaner.
Get your priorities straight.
