Write a Letter to this Company  |  Rate this Company

THIS MADE ME TICKED OFF! It happened at Olive Garden. I have never had a problem with them, except for now! We (as in me, my mom, my brother, and our roommate/friend) were going to Savannah GA to Olive Garden on a weekend. We were waiting to be seated, then we were and BLAH blah blah. Here it is:It took hours to get in, and, we didn't get service at our table for FORTY MINUTES! Trust me, I counted! So here we are, hungry and mad and disappointed. FINALLY we get our food! We eat, and on top of that, we needed refills for 10 minutes, and we saw our waitress talking to her friends! It was NOT a enjoyable "out to eat" setting! We all left angry and we left no tip! Thanks Olive Garden...

Carefully watch employees and fire the ones who don't do it right

if a server is talking to a table, maybe of regulars, it does not mean
that he or she is chatting with a friend. he or she are giving service
as well. some customers like to talk with the wait satff. if you want
better service start by tipping.

PS.... you filled out an application while you were there, right? I
think you should get in there & show them how it's done. You
apparently think you can do a better job.

People like you make me happy that my customer service days are over
with.

Um, sounds like they were busy & had other people to take care of?
What do you expect them to do, push everyone else aside for you?

Also, if you expect them to listen to you, may I suggest re-writing
this letter in a professional manner? As is, it will most likely be
tossed.

Yeah, GOD FORBID the Olive Garden serve other people. Seriously, what
did you expect? It was the weekend, weekends are busy times for
restaurants, especially restaurants as popular as the Olive Garden.

You know you could've gone someplace else if you thought the wait was
too long. I bet you're exaggerating when you say it took "hours" for
you to be seated.

And lastly, who writes "blah blah blah" in a business letter?
Certianly no professional I know. It comes off as rude.

All I can think of is that you were in Savannah Georgia and you
couldnt find a better place to eat than the Olive Garden?

I LOVE Savannah and there are some amazing places to eat there!!

However, its a tourist location and you are going to be waiting awhile
anywhere you go there, especially on the weekends.

It's unanimous!

Take a good look at your letter. Would you read that?
Now read it out loud. Not much better, right?

If you really want a response, write your letter again, making it look
and sound more businesslike.

I think you probably have a valid complaint. But I am going to have to
side with the other posters, and tell you that it needs to be
re-written as a proper business letter. Try doing this, and you will
see your letter get the attention that it deserves. Good luck.

What rally made me laugh i his letter was the BLah, blah, blah. You
are not going to get good feedback on a shared letter with that
response. All they are going to see is the blah blah blan. Olive
Garden will not take this seriously.

What a poorly written letter. First of all, you don't write blah blah
blah in a letter to a company.
Second, if you waited an extended period of time at the door to be
seated, your food IS NOT going to come out to you within 10 minutes.
Did you ever happen to think about that.

Also, I highly doubt your server was chatting away with friends. I
cannot believe you flat out decided not to tip the server. It is not
her fault your order took a long time.

As far as drinks go, I will side with you on that, but did it ever
occur to you that maybe she was busy waiting on other tables.

By the tone of your letter, I feel that you were extremely rude to her
from the moment you sat down.

What did the manager say when you brought the situation to his or her
attention.

Also, its not: as in "me, my mom, my brother, and our roommate/friend:
IT'S my mother, brother and our friend and I.

Next time, why not write a proper letter that is grammatically correct
and omit all caps and unecessary pharase, such as blah blah blah.
Writing like that makes you look like a child, and in my opinion you
probably still are or act like it.

If you waited "hours," to be seated, that is all on you. I personally
would have left somewhere into hour two.

The real problem here though is that this letter will get exactly the
attention it deserves: none whatsoever. My advice is to sit down,
think about what exactly happened and then how to succinctly and
coherently describe this. As it is now, no one will read this mess.

Olive Gardens always seem to have a long wait, and always seem to be
busy. Who waits "hours" to be seated (or was that an exaggeration?)?
Did you complain to the manager? Did you stop another waitstaff
person and ask them to get your server so you could be taken care of?
