So...what do you plan on buying in place of them? Let's see, get some real silk panties and forget the cheap cotton ones.. geez I buy my undies on Ebay, the heck with department stores, they sell cheap junk anymore... Hanes Signature Collection for me...
I think you just went from the frying pan into the fire... Fredrick's would be my last choice...

It could be that s and xs are popular sizes with Victoria Secret shoppers...since, you know, they don't make *anything* for larger women. Just sayin'...

You have totally blown this situation all out of proportion - - to get this upset over a pair of cotton panties is just ridiculous. I'm sure the offer was "while supplies last" which means that as long as they have 'em you get one but when they run out, they run out. This is not a "false marketing ploy" - - it's just the way promotions are managed - - put another way - - it's simply one of those situations where the early bird gets the panties!

I work for vs. and you wrote your email the day the coupon expired that you're speaking about. Unless you're an XL your size is the first to go and it is a "while supplies last" offer. Grab the size that the store does have and exchange it later or come in right after you recieve the coupon if you want to be sure your size is there.

I get those free cards all the time and have never had a hard time finding the size small panties, but then again the closest VS is more than an hour away from my home so I don't use all of them. I wish they'd let you redeem them online for us country folks.

Although... your idea that the free panty thing is a sick marketing ploy is awfully farfetched. I'm sure they don't have a bottomless underwear drawer that produces limitless quantities of small sz. panties in every store.

What kind of card would it be if not a credit card? If it's a card where you can use it to leave the store with merchandise by signing a sales slip and not paying any money up front, THAT is a credit card. And I've never heard of having to pay to get a card cancelled.

Lol. If you are size xs or s you should be used to stores running out of those sizes by now.
They just sold quicker. I bet there's something sociological reason for it. (I won't state my whacked-out theories here as I will surely be flamed)

I worked in retail for years and I don' see why you just don't accept the wrong size that is in stock, wait for them to restock and then just do an even exchange with the ones that are too big,not worn and have the tags on them. And keep your receipt. There are ways to get what you want and play their game at the same time. And most of all be patient and some what polite to them,it will work in your favor and make for a better day for them, after all they aren't the ones who order the stuff and do the ads, the sales people always get the worst thrown at them for some of the bad moves that the higher ups make. good luck !!

I don't think it is a false marketing ploy.
I myself have received free cotton coupons. Last month, I received about 2-3 of them.
I did experience the same thing as you did. But I do believe that the stores ran out of the xs /s sizes.

The coupon offered a free pair; it did not guarantee all sizes would be available. "While supplies last" is a common restriction for coupons.
This does not constitute false advertising. He who hesitates is lost.

I agree that since they were giving the panties away, and since s and xs are popular sizes, and since you weren't the only person who got the coupon...they ran out.
Instead of freaking out, it might have been better to suggest that they extend the offer until they restock, or maybe ship you a pair in your size. But your little temper tantrum isn't going to get you your free panties, and that's what you want, isn't it?

Like Dragon said, you aren't the only one who got this mailing. I got three of these coupons myself. Two in magazines and one directly from them. In fact I received these about 2-3 weeks ago. Did you wait that long to try and redeem them?

I would be willing to bet you weren't the only person in the world that got that mailing. In fact, I'd be willing to bet that everyone in the area that had ever made a purchase at a Victoria Secret got that same mailing and went to the mall to get their free panties. I would further bet that by the time you got to the mall all the free panties in your size had already been snatched up by other skinny people. It's too bad, but hardly something worth all this anger on your part. I think you need to calm down and really think about what happened, and if it is really worth your energy and time to complain about it. If you still feel it is, then try rewriting this letter in a calm, concise, and professional way.
By the way, maybe you should try shopping at my Victoria's Secret. All they ever have are extra smalls. You'd think a lingerie store could stock bras for women that have breasts, but that's another soapbox for another day.

Maybe this was a ploy to get you into the store, get you mad, and then want to spend money. Yeah, that's how VS has become such a big company.
I'm going to guess that maybe... just maybe... the smaller sizes are more popular than the larger ones? VS tends to cater more, I think, to smaller women. Or women who want to feel smaller. Or to men who don't want to offend their wives/girlfriends by giving them x-large panties.
What's more, we're talking about a coupon, which was likely sent to many people, for free stuff. What makes you think they have an unlimited supply (even at 3 stores) of something they're giving out for free.
However, all of this is not why I'm commenting on you letter. What I am commenting on is how you're flying off the handle. If you like VS, why are you giving up on a store you like over the fact that they didn't have free panties available. You've admitted to "spend[ing] ridiculous amount[s] of money." To me, that sounds like someone who likes VS and really wants to keep shopping there.
What we have here, pardon the expression, is you acting like a little brat. Throwing tantrums and saying that you'll go elsewhere ain't going to hurt VS at all. No matter how much you spend, losing you as a customer means zero to them. And yet, in your own life, you not going there sounds like a bad thing.
Gather up your indignation, fish your Angel card from the trash, and go buy yourself something you'd enjoy. Or don't. But don't blame it on VS when you go to FoH and find that you just don't what they offer... not as much as at VS.
That said, if you have evidence that they deceived the public, please contact the New York Attorney General. But you'd better have more proof that 3 stores were out of the item.
