Complaint on staff's attitude

I took the Norwegian Star Cruise sailing on May 28, 06 from Seattle to Alaska. There is a safety box in my room 5656 on the ship and I put my camera, IPOD into the safety box. On Sunday, June 4, 06, I forgot to take the things out from the safety box when I got off the ship and I realized this in the afternoon of June 4 after I got back to LA, so I called NCL immediately and they promised to get them back to me. But after 3 weeks, when I called them back, I was told that they couldn't find anything for me. I think this is very irresponsiable becasue I left all those things in the safety box with a secured code, nobody else except the cruise staff can access the box, how come they couldn't find them? In addition, those things might not worth a lot for others, but the camera is the gift from my parents and the IPOD is the gife that my husband gave me for my PhD graduation.

Find my Camera and IPOD for me.

It is not true that when you embark on a cruise that you sign anything
stipulating that you are soley responsible for your items. One must
assume when you place valuable itmes into a wall safe that you will be
able to retrieve it.
I feel the cruiseline should be responsible to some extent.
