Absurd Pizza Hut Delivery Experience

I recently ordered some wings from your Holland, OH store. I placed my order and was told that I would have 40-minute wait time. After 50 minutes I still had not recieved my order, so I called the store to find out what was up. I was told that I had called the wrong store and that my order was being delivered to me by another store and would be there in 10 minutes. For the record, I called this particular store because I did the store locater thing on your web site and it was the closest one, 1.45 miles away. Well about 25 minutes later the wings finally arrived, approximately an hour and a half after I placed the original order, and they were cold. At no time was I offered anything for my wait, coupons, free meal vouchers, or anything like that.
Here are my gripes, essentially:
-If they wouldn't deliver to me, they should have caught it when I ordered in the first place
-Why on earth won't a store a mile away deliver to me?! Sheesh!
-When you royally screw up like this, it's usually customary to offer SOMETHING extra to the customer for their wait. Stuff happens, but when it does make it right
-Never, ever, EVER should a person have to wait an hour and a half for food from Pizza Hut
I would like at least one free meal voucher for my inconvenience, as I am a fairly frequent Pizza Hut customer

I have had my bad experiences with Pizza Hut as well. I suggest that from now on you order from Domino's instead. I haven't had any problems since ordering from Domino's.

I have to agree. We have had similar experiences with our Murphy, NC pizza hut, but they don't deliver. We just sat there in the restaurant for about 3 hours while our pizzas kept on being put on-what can I call it? put on backorder? I love their pizza, so I have to go back, but it sucked all the same.

"Never, ever, EVER should a person have to wait an hour and a half for food from Pizza Hut "
I spoke with my friend in Africa, Mekagundai-Menatuso Clickclickbung.
He said try waiting 5 days for a fly to land in your mouth. 1 1/2 hours from Pizza Hut ain't so bad.

I don't get why they didn't just tell you it was the wrong location to deliver to where you were and redirect you. That's what they do here if you call the wrong one. I would be ticked too. It's things like this that caused me to stop using Pizza Hut. I order pizza alot and Pizza Hut used to be the only place I would order from. Now it's the only place I won't order from.

there is one word to describe you. Greedy.theres a store down the street that doesn't deliver to me for who knows what reason. I think i'll whine and complain about it. you could have easily gone and picked them up yourself and saved some money. but noooo.

Actually, the problem that you've experienced is not uncommon. Indeed Pizza Hut sets specific boundaries around their store that the delivery drivers are supposed to stay in. In addition, they use a computer system that will not allow cutomer contact info to be put in unless it is within the delivery area. This can be worked around, however, if the manager knows what he/she is doing. It doesn't help that the workers hired at Pizza Hut aren't exactly professional experts (high-turnover/usually less educated), so getting them to think creativly to solve customer issues can prove to be difficult. So whoever took your order may not have known that you couldn't be delivered to. You address may have been put in incorrectly.
Things went sour when that store decided to have another store deliver to you. If they had taken your order they should have sent someone out of the way to complete it. They set poor time expectations. They should have given you something more realistic.
In hindsight, I'd say that this manager dropped the ball by not offering you a 'free dinner experience' for the future. If it were me I would have gone out of the way to make sure you got what you paid for -- a 'hot' pizza dinner and an apology.
I do recommend that you try to talk to the management reasonably, explain the situation calmly, and encourage them to view these posts. If this manager is at all interested in your satisfaction, then he or she would surely do something about it in order to retain your business.

"free meal voucher"
There is something about this statement that drives me crazy every time I see it.
What the heck is a voucher??? You want a gift card. You want free food. You want some coupons. But does anyone actually give out "vouchers"?
I am serious...that word is like fingernails on a chalk board to me!!! LOL!!
Either way, what does it matter where it comes from so long as you get it? So it took longer than expected. When did you order? You left that part out. Was it Fri. or Sat. by chance? When they are really busy.
You have a valid complaint in that they were cold but I dont think you deserve a "voucher" for that. Dont you have a microwave? Why didnt you send them back if they were that cold?

You asked... "Why on earth won't a store a mile away deliver to me?" Good question.
There is a Pizza Hut a mile away from my house, but they do not deliver at all. Maybe that's the reason your order came from a different store. Just a thought.
