ATLANTA - A man admitted Tuesday that he tampered with his children's soup in an attempt to get money from Campbell Soup Co., a prosecutor said.
William Allen Cunningham's 3-year-old son and 18-month-old daughter were hospitalized twice in January 2006. He forced them first to eat soup laced with hot peppers and lighter fluid, and the second time used the prescription drugs Prozac and Amitriptyline - both used to treat depression - to poison the children, authorities said.
Cunningham, 41, pleaded guilty to communicating false claims, U.S. Attorney David Nahmias said. Under terms of a plea agreement, he faces up to five years in federal prison when he is sentenced April 19.
"He admitted that he put potentially life-threatening foreign substances into soup, which he fed to his two young children and then placed a call to Campbell Soup Co. falsely claiming that the soup had been contaminated," Nahmias said.
According to prosecutors, Cunningham called Campbell and threatened to sue. Authorities say there was no evidence the soup was tainted when it was bought.

That's the kind of parenting that gives me hope for the future.

There was that customer that Edyieville or whatnot had who found a BULLET CASING in his food. And he really HAD found it. Apparently, Edyie took it away from the customer and the resturant kept it so they could say the poor guy was lying, since apparently "no evidence, no incident." Disgusting of the employees, but it shows that sometimes you DO find bizarre things in your food. There are a million and one scam artists out there, but there are also horrible resturants too sometimes. :S

That's horrible man. That poor guy, I would be livid. Well I never would have given up the damn bullet casing but he obviously didn't know that they would try to make him out to be the bad guy.
By Edyie, do you mean Edyie on this site??

BAY CITY, Mich. (AP) - A lovers' quarrel and a case of mistaken identity has landed a teenager behind bars after police say he repeatedly rammed a teenage girl's car, thinking it was his girlfriend.
State police told The Saginaw News that the victim - a 17-year-old from Pinconning - called 911 early Sunday when the suspect smashed his car into the rear of hers.
The 17-year-old suspect struck her car about 15 times and pushed it through stop signs at intersections, the victim told police.
Dispatchers advised her to lead the suspect toward police units who were en route to intercept them, police said.
State police troopers and Bay County sheriff's deputies caught up with the suspect and pursued the Bay City teen at speeds of up to 90 miles per hour, police said.
The teen told police he thought the driver was his girlfriend, who left a party after the couple quarreled. He said he wanted to talk to her and get his goodnight kiss, so he went searching for her, police said.
He told police he was talking to his girlfriend on his cell phone, telling her to stop her car. She told him she was stopped and didn't know what he was talking about, officers said.
The teen likely will face charges including assault with a vehicle, fleeing police and drunk driving.

Hmmm ramming your car into someone else's to get their attention? This sounds like an ex boyfriend.
I think I may have dodged a bullet here.

That's it! Ever since I switched to Comcast my connection has been shaky at best. I swear they must be using a string and tin can for a modem. As soon as my contract is up I'm dropping them like a bad habit.
I renounce my cable internet connection!
On the other hand, the customer service people at Comcast are incredibly helpful when it comes to temporarily fixing the problem, they just can't give me a permenant solution. And I can't yell at them because they're just so darn nice.
Ya know, that gives me an idea. I'll open a buisness where you can call and yell at me for 99 cents a minute.
That's the million dollar one right there.

I'm back!
Ok had a small 4 day power outage up here in Seattle and it was putting a little damper on my outrage against You-Know-Who but I'm back up and running so I'm crusading forward.
On a consumer note, can I just say that the quaility of Ramen noodles has gone seriously down hill.

LIBERTY, Ohio (AP) - A grocery store manager was struck in the head with a 10-pound sack of potatoes by a customer angry about having to wait in line, police say. Police in Liberty, near Youngstown in northeast Ohio, say a 59-year-old woman from Youngstown is suspected in the attack.
Scott Renzenbrink, 45, told police a clerk having problems with a customer called him to the register. The customer told him she was upset about the wait and struck the manager in the back of head with the potatoes when he was walking away after the conversation, according to police.
A witness followed the woman out to the parking lot and took down her license plate number.
Renzenbrink, who was not seriously hurt in the attack last Thursday, identified the woman by a Bureau of Motor Vehicles photo. He may file assault charges.
