Unavailability of item advertised (in writing on premises.)
This afternoon, after coming from visiting my Mother in Plymouth MA, we drove to Wendy's in Marshfield MA specifically to try the 'not so' NEW Vanilla Frosty. It was 2 o'clock in the afternoon, not lunch rush, and they were not only out of the vanilla frosty, but also the strawberry yogurt that I would have settled for. Bear, (or is it bare?,) in mind that the yogurt would not have made my Hubby happy. Since it was already after 2 o'clock, and we had driven out of our way, we grinned, and beared it, and got some cheap burgers to kill the monsters in our belly and settled for the backwash they call sprite, since I am not allowed caffeine. No, I did not complain to the manager, no I did not make a scene, no I do not think I deserve my money back (well, maybe for that supposed sprite.) This is not my REAL complaint, just the setup.
We went back to the hospital to see my Mom after they admitted her from the ER to a room. Yeah, the hospital. I wasn't looking to reel you in with the sympathy card. We went to our favorite pizza place in Marshfield, and the return route to home happens to take us past Wendy's. To our happiness and surprise, the Wendy's sign proclaimed that they had the Vanilla Frosty!!! Hubby asked if we should stop and grab some for dessert. By the time I answered, he had to turn around in rush hour traffic, and we realized that the other side of the sign still touted the new Italian Frescata, but we still figured they wouldn't advertise something they really didn't have and had not had for more than three hours, bot low and behold, they were. They still had no vanilla frostys, and we drove away, disappointed again.
I think that they should offer coupons for two free vanilla frosty's.

I am actually going to respond to this letter but with a few little items of interest as I too, work in a fast food restaurant (not wendys), but one of the competition and yes contrary to belief... wendys frosties, mcdonalds flurries, dq's blizzards, burger king's stir-ups.. are all made of the same type of product (...SHAKE MIX) and usually the same type of machine is used.
Now one of two things could have happened on this very day that you went to wendy's for the frosties/frostys whichever you say it and 1.) they could have run out of shake mix as maybe frosties were/are very popular and they didnt get their truck order in till maybe the next day or so.. it happens! or 2.) the frostie machine could have been down for a bit, and yes it does take a couple hours to clean all depends how busy it is, and who is available that knows how to clean it..(they probably know it lost some business) but it happens!
Now i dont know the specifics of your state law, but i am from canada, and i do hear that alot of people in the states like to sue any and everyone for whatever reason they find entertaining, and believe me, its a nice read when someone sues for a million bucks over a hotdog or a coffee because it was TOO HOT?
Now stay with me here, Did you talk to the manager? maybe finding out the problem and why they didnt have any frosties available before coming on here and trying to get everyone all riled up!

WHATEVER!!!!
Why don't you all just go back to making fun of all of the immigrants, both legal and illegal, and I will go back to living my pathetic little life. You know the one where the simple things like a vanilla frosty can bring pleasure and a dollar actually means something.

I think you contradict yourself by saying you don't think you deserve your money back, then asking for two coupons for vanilla frosties. That is still asking for "money" back in a way.
Since these vanilla frosties are new, how do you know they didn't get a barrage of customers wanting one during the lunch rush before you went there? I'm sure a lot of other customers were in there ordering a vanilla frosty before you that day.

. . .your letter was an attempt to be cheeky and cute about your complaint, it more or less came off like pointless rambling with no connection to the issue you had. Bottom line, you wanted Vanilla Frosty's. The shop you went to was out of Vanilla Frosty's (and apparently yogurt too). Period. End of story.
Lots of times when fast food places get in "new" items, there is such a demand for them that the vendor that supplies the products to all the sites(i.e. Maclean, etc.) just cannot keep up.
Sometimes things just run out too. If you want to try it, chances are there are TONS of others who'd like to try it too!
But there is no way on God's Green Earth that Wendy's ought to give you free coupons just because you happened to be unlucky enough to want Frosty's when they didn't have them.
Say it with me now, "The world does not revolve around me and sometimes things that happen just aren't fair!"

If you weren't trying to play the sympathy card, why did you bring up the ER to begin with? It has nothing to do with your "complaint".
Nor, come to think of it, does your aversion to caffeine.
Referring to Sprite as "backwash", incidentally is a) appallingly childish; and b) no skin off of Wendy's back, as it does not manufacture the stuff.
Oh, yes - and no one cares about your "hubby's" lack of love for yogurt.
If they were out, they were out. Too bad for you, but not freebie worthy.
What a scammer.

Most of this letter is sheer lunacy, but one item in particular is confusing me. Perhaps you can clarify.
You commented that you passed a sign that this particular Wendys had the Vanilla frosty, upon ordering, they did not. Were they, too, out of product? Or did they never have it to begin with?
My question is, if they had it but had run out, are you suggesting that they should have taken the sign down?

Oh on the sprite caffeine thing, depends on which you get. Some say yes, some say no.Some clarify caffeine free and most restaurants dont have the caffeine free sprites or generics. I may be wrong on it so sorry about that!

Maybe it was beer in the mind.
Two coupons for a frosty do not guarantee stock on that item.
Calling sprite backwash is a tad nasty. I cant have much caffiene either and there are many beverages that do not have caffeine in them. However, Sprite does!!!

So you first go to this Wendy's and they are out of what you want. Then later that same day you see a sign with an advertisement for the item they were out of and you think that because of the sign they will magically have what they were out of on your first visit. Redhead is right about you in her title.

Like you "grinned" at anything. Lousy attitude. So their frosty machine was down. BIG DEAL. That doesn't entitle you to a single free item.
For the love of Pete, get your own damn milkshake maker at home.

What does your title mean? I don't go to Wendy's. Does it mean that if they're out of something you get some kind of coupon?
