PFB C-pinion: I've Got Great News

I'll be calling Geico right away!! I use Progressive, and I have also
been getting pretty irritated!

I switched from a red, 2 door sports car in crappy condition to a
blue, 2 door car in great condition with automatic seat belts, air
bags, and other safety features, quit smoking and got married. The
price went up! So then I bought my new car, a 4 door with very low
mileage, safety features, excellent condition, inexpensive parts, I
turned 25, and now my record is completely clean. My prices went up
again!! I pay almost $100/month for insurance!

I've had them for years. I had one accident where a Progressive
Respresentative even said it sounded like fraud. The men in the
parking lot sped up, had no lights on, hit the back of my car while I
was backing out (in a huge lot with plenty of driving room, and no
reason to be so close to my car) and then tried to get me to get in
the car with them and go to an ATM to withdraw money for them. Also,
they requested I not call the police, and the location we were at made
me afraid to walk to the phone and do so anyway, as they would have
stopped me I was afraid!

Anyway, after claiming that it sounded like fraud, Progressive
proceeded to pay out a large amount of money for neck injuries and
what not. Like I said, it was in a parking lot!!!

Sad to say, I know from a few experiences. Everyone in NY LOVES when
they find out I have Geico...they are so easy to work with, pay
quickly, etc. for everyone involved.

just been one big joke......

Oh wait a minute, I bet that you just saved a ton of money by
switching to Geico!! silly rxgirl!!!


In all seriousness, I also once had progressive then after a ticket
for a non-moving violation (that I fought and won by the way), they
shot my rates to the sky. I joined Geico (about 10 years ago) and
have been pleased ever since. They have an easy to use website, and
nice CSR's at least on the occasions that I needed to call.

I certainly hope your streak of no accidents and no tickets continues,
and not just for your own safety. I have seen way too many incidents
where Geico has dropped otherwise good customers for causing or
contributing to a minor fender bender.

One of my clients fell victim to that swoop and stop scenario often
described by insurance carriers. He was cut off by a driver who
braked abruptly, causing him to run into the back of her car. This
woman then sued him for $500,000 alleging damages from soft tissue
injury to protracted birthing complications (she wasn't even pregnant
at the time of the accident). GEICO refused to pay because she had
filed multiple frivolous suits and ultimately settled the case for
pennies. Despite that, my client got dropped by GEICO.

I am just a little dark cloud today.... :)

And I've had a few major minor accidents.
Not even a rate increase for one of them and they paid out for my
damages...about $2500...

I really am happy with them. I wonder what else happened that made
them decide to drop your client.

Great letter. I've been with Geico for a long time and they have
always handled any claims I had promptly.

Just recently, my husband was getting ready to take his motorcycle out
to ride in a parade. Since they always check licenses, registrations
and insurance cards at the parade, we wanted to make sure he had
everything. I couldn't find his insurance card and was looking all
over the house. Instead of going nuts, I called Geico and they
e-mailed it to me within 5 minutes!

This is an excellent letter and some great advice. I was in the market
for insurance after getting new wheels.... and being a creature of
habit... I stayed loyal to Nationwide for way way too long... I too
was shocked at the difference...and I live in a State with almost the
highest rates in the country (Pennsylvania). They really do have
excellent csr's. But what really sealed the deal was Warren Buffet
owns Geico and I like the philanthropic work he's been doing with the
Bill Gate's (love him or hate him) Foundation. It's an added bonus
knowing some of your money might possibly help the less fortunate.
