Many Suggestions for Coca Cola
Posted Sun October 8, 2006 12:00 pm, by Brad J. written to Coca-Cola
Write a Letter to this Company
I'd like to suggest that you take the aspartame out of your diet pop and start using splenda instead.
I would also like to suggest that you stop using phosphoric acid and use citric acid in your Coca-Cola beverages, just like you do in Sprite as itis very bad for major calcium depletion to the bones.
I would like to suggest that you make non diet forms.
Lastly, I would like to suggest that you make non diet Caffeine Free forms of Vanilla Coke, Cherry Coke, and Lime Coke just like you have with Coca Cola Classic.
Thanks for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
Brad Jones

I have a suggestion for you, Brad:
Stop drinking diet soda altogether.
Since you're clearly unhappy with drinking soda containing aspartame, I won't even get into that. But the molecule that is removed from sugar in order to make Splenda calorie-free is also the molecule which breaks down the sugar in your body...what this means, basically, is that Splenda actually causes weight gain.
So throw out the diet soda. Throw out the Splenda. Drink some water.

Brad,
While I applaud your efforts, If they did take your suggestions into consideration, I would hope they would still offer plain old Diet coke...as I don't want it to change in ANY way!! I love my diet coke the way it is...

Brad lives in Canada, so this might explain availability of certain products.

"I would like to suggest that you make non diet forms."
Non diet forms of what? Of Diet Coke? Just about everything Coke has made started out as "regular" version.
I dont know but this letter is very confusing to me. First you are asking for diet versions of the diet cokes. You want it made with Splenda...which has been on the market for quite awhile now although it isnt widely found anymore because it didnt do too well. Its not very good. Coke Zero pretty much took its place. It takes more like regular Coke Classic but its "diet". I like it better than Diet Coke and my ex husband would even drink Coke Zero and he was a die hard Coke Classic drinker.
But then you go on to ask for "non diet forms" and "non diet Caffeine Free forms" of various Coke flavors. Maybe they just arent available where you live because just about all you posted is or was sold at one time.
I only buy diet forms of Coke but not caffeine free and I never have any issue. Diet Cherry Coke is one of my favorites and I buy it often. Vanilla and Lime might be seasonal or special edition and not available all the time. Either way, I wouldnt buy them..GROSS! But Cherry Coke is ALWAYS available with full sugar and full caffeine.
Maybe I dont understand this letter. Its confusing to me but I am tired. LOL! Coke made with Splenda or any version of "fake" sugar IS considered "diet" but you want "non diet"....Oh I am soooooo confused! ROFL!!!

Great suggestions! I especially like the idea of caffeine free versions of different flavors. I am a soda junkie but gave up most caffeine a few years ago, which makes my choices rather limited. Regular Coke has always been my favorite, but I do occasionally like a different flavored soda. It would be nice if I could have a vanilla coke or cream soda once in a while without ricocheting off the walls all night!
I hate most diet soda, but I wonder if I'd be able to drink it with Splenda. Hmmm.

im wondering if Hr.Helpful or whoever puts up those pictures threw that in there as a little joke on the OP.... i know they are putting pictures in with the ltters now, but i think its kinda ironic that the OP said they wanted diet coke with spelnda, and a diet coke with splenda can happens to show up next to the picture.
if it was a joke, nice job.

Brad, good suggestions. While I was aware of the calcium depletion, I suspect that many are not, so I'm glad some people may learn about this. I just completed week 2 of no Coca Cola (after a daily habit).
But Coke needs to have enough people who want caffeine free pop in those specialty flavors in order to do so.
Also consider that Splenda may not be an appropriate sweetener -- it may degrade too much, too quickly. I don't know anything about that, but it's just a supposition, because I think Coke would use Splenda if it made sense to do so from a product viability standpoint.
I wouldn't drink any of the combinations you suggested, but perhaps if you got others to join your cause, you could persuade Coke to try something new.
