The Melting Pot made fondue FUN!

FUN-due!

My fiancee and I made our first visit to The Melting Pot (Columbus, OH/Easton) on Thursday October 5. Since we weren't planning it, and were dressed a little more casual than we should have been, we sat at the bar which in most restaurants tends to be a little more informal. Honestly, I was not expecting the experience we had - we just decided to go because it was something different. However, we were pleasantly surprised. The meal was absolutely delicious, and the service was perfect. Since they were not very busy, the bartender/server was able to chat with us and made us feel welcome. It was worth every penny, and we have decided to return at least once per month. When we have visitors or plan a double-date, we will definitely consider this restaurant because of the great atmosphere and food.

Thank you for making a wonderful first impression on us for our first dining experience at The Melting Pot!

..I've read a lot of complaints about the Melting Pot at other
wesbites. Not about the service but about the vlaue. I heard that
you get a rather small portion of your meat and some veggies and some
plain melted cheese.

I've only been once, but it was tremendous.

Block out about 3-4 hours as they take their time. (good thing).
Although it is quite expensive, it is worth it if you want a nice
dining experience. The one here will let you just come in just for
desert. If you're on a tight budget, give that a try. The desert we
had was scarey good and would be a nice treat after a less expensive
dinner. (get the chocolate and marshmallow fondue, it's like the best
smores you'll ever eat.)

but the prices scared me away. Maybe now that I have read something
good about it, I'll sell a kid and try it out!

Hmmm...I wonder what she meant by that. *looks worried*

Seriously, if you get the chance and can justify the hit on your
wallet, definitely go. It's more fun than you would believe!

I had heard of a "fondue" restaurant before, but never knew what it
was called.

I'm glad you wrote this so I know what its called, now I'm just hoping
they open one up here in Cleveland too(esp. since everyone appears to
be raving about it!)!

I love Melting Pot! I went with Rand, my future sister-in-law and her
husband, and we had the best time ever. You are right that it is the
perfect atmosphere for double dates and guests. I only wish we could
go there every month- it's a special occassion only type place for our
pocket book, but totally worth every penny.

I love that you wrote this letter, and that you wrote it so well.
Hooray for you!

What a wonderful letter!

I LOVED Melting Pot when I lived in South Florida. I now live where
there aren't any yet, but I look forward to the day one does open in
the area. It's awefully expensive, but worth it! A "mommy" group I
belonged to used to go there a few times a year. If we were splitting
a full meal with one person, it cost about $40/person. We got to the
point where we would order just the appitizers (cheese with apples,
breads etc) and desserts. We would order 2 to 4 appitizers and 3 or 4
desserts depending upon the number of people in our group. It ended
up costing closer to $25/person that way and we enjoyed it just as
much. The dessert was the best part anyway. Most of our husbands
wouldn't take us there, so we would take ourselves=-) As my husband
says, why would I pay to cook my own food!

Good to see this review. One opened recently in my area and I've been
tempted to try it but hadn't spoken to anyone who had been there. Now
I know I'll definitely make it a point to go there very soon.

Great Letter!!! I hope this is a chain and somehow makes it to my
area, it sounds like a really unique "cheers" type place and a good
dining experience.... Glad to see you let them know what a pleasant
surprise your experience there was!!

I love this kind of feedback most...Thanks for sharing!!!
