Without adding fuel to the fire, in Wal Mart, women are 85% more apt to be promoted into management as well as blacks, hispanics etc. because of being sued in the past. I'm sorry that you didn't get the promotion and even more sorry that you ever had to work there.

The majority (probably 90 percent) of people that claim they were fired because of their gender, race or sexual performance were fired because of performance.
Sadly all the false claims make it harder for the people with legitimate ones to get them through. My friend works for the EEOC. The time she spends on baseless complaints takes away from the time on real complaints.
A typical fired person is one who was late or absent a lot or didn't meet standards and claims they were fired because of race or gender.

From your letter, you appear to be illiterate.
No wonder you weren't promoted.

Um, it does not seem to me like this is the place to be complaining about something like that. Seems to me like it's a good way for you to get fired.

I have to agree, how do you know it was because you were a woman? Promotions are based on a persons qualifications, not so much tenure. If you truely feel you were sexually discrimiated against, you may have a valid legal case against Wal-Mart, but be sure you have solid ground other than the fact they gave it to someon eother than you. It is a big deal when you file a sexual discrimiation case.

"trsh" wasn't given the promotion because she WAS a woman.
Are you no longer a woman? Was the operation a success? I think you've gone too far in trying to prove your case. Having a sex change is really being extreme. Well, now that it's done, go back and reapply as a male. See if you get the promotion.
*Sigh*

Well if you talk the way you type a letter I can see why your "anagers" would not give you the promotion.

This is a consumer web site. If you are an employee with a complaint, you may get better response from Human Resources.
Good luck.

I don't work for Walmart, never have. Sooo, let's play "what if." What if I was giving an interview to you, solely based on what you wrote. What job would I give you?
Not even a "dumpster duster!" Even if the dumpster really really needed dusting!!
You were not promoted not because you are female but, because your attitude and vocabulary could stand a HUGE improvement! Bosses do not suffer fools really well. If this is the way you communicate to a corporation, I can only imagine how you present yourself in public, in person!
I've always said that the way you treat others is the way you will be treated! You were treated more than fairly! I would have fired you had you come to me with that kind of "mouth" and attitude!
I suggest you step back, regroup and come back wtih your attitude fixed.. 'cause it really is broken!

Dependability and professionalism are certainly factors in considering someone for promotion. However, how many children she has or whether her husband suffers from alcoholism are definitely not. It is just as illegal to ask her those questions as it would be to deny her a promotion due to gender.
I'm fairly sure that Wal Mart is smart enough to avoid a blatant lawsuit waiting to happen, so I assume there were other reasons involved here.

I bet I know the real reason you did not get the promotion. Did your interview go anything like this.
Manager : Now you applied for CSM, why do you think that you should get it.
You: Well, first of all I am a woman and you only hired 3 women CSM's and 4 male's so if you don't hire me than you are discrimating against women. Second, if a customer pisses me off and treats me like crap_o_la, I will not get pissed off at them myself, but however if you do not give me the promotion I will get pissed off.

Congratulations, you've just accused Wal-Mart of sex discrimination, which is a serious charge and one that needs to be backed up by solid evidence.
And you being passed over for a promotion does not count.
Furthermore, if your grammar and language in this letter are any indication of how you talk to people at work, it's no wonder you got passed over for the promotion.

The letters of complaint on this board speak volumes of a persons educational and professional level. This one is no exception.

I remember the first time I got drunk. It sounded a lot like this. You'll feel better in the morning after some sleep.
No, no, don't try to sit up. It'll just make it worse.
Nighty night. Here's a bucket if you think you'll be sick.

Yeah, you seem like "Employee of the Year" material, what with a public letter to your bosses criticizing them.

You did not get promoted because of your sex but because you are a lousy typist who can't spell a single word. Now stop bashing Wal-Mart and do something better like taking English class.

I'm thinking maybe you got passed over because the job required spelling and punctuation skills and possibly the ability to construct a coherent sentence.

Perhaps you were passed over for a promotion because your attitude sucks and they don't customers complaining to Planetfeedback that they went to the store in such and such and had to deal with a rude manager named Trish. Or maybe when filled out a promotion form you made tons of spelling and grammar mistakes like in this letter. Or maybe you did not leave your job and were fired(probably for yelling at a customer) and are playing the discrimation game.

Let me see.... Where to begin....
1. Capital letters are good things. "I" is ALWAYS capitalized.
2. "pissed off" is not something you say to people who have the power to promote you, or leave you in your empty no-where position.
3. Writing a letter that looks like it comes from the stereotypical uneducated bumpkin walmart employee does not help your case.
The stereotype I mention really isn't true... I think most people will agree... BUT letters like this one don't make it easy to believe that there really are smart people working there.
