More Pop Corn Per Room, And Less Clorine In The Pool

Posted Sat January 6, 2007 1:21 am, by Phyllis d. written to Homeward Suites

No one care how the customer feels. I was on the first floor, and I could smell the clorine that you put in the pool, and in November,2006 the pool was closes, also the internet was limited. The second stay I told you that I couldn't play any games, or surf the way it was a few years ago.I was wondering why other hotels do more business then your hotel.Their hotel pool is the right temperature, and never shut down. Possibly their food is more then maccaroni, and salad. Possibly they don't have a limited number of cable channels. These are the thing you are limiting on your guests, and that is wrong. You hotel cost more than other hotels, too.Instead of me paying for the Christmas day, because of of the bad experience that we've been through, and one popcorn for more than one person is pretty cheap. It should improve not get worse.

I should get a hotel room for the experience that I went through, and also credit back that charge back to my credit card. You should spruce up your meals, and make it much better then it is.

Aunt Phyllis is punking people on the Internet again!

Can't we send her back to the asylum already?

So how long have you been in America? I know people who work for
non-profit refugee groups, and their "clients" (refugees) speak better
English than you!

*POP* *FIZZLE* That's the sound my brain cells made when they died
upon reading this letter.

You are insatiable! Why, oh why, would you want a room when you had
such a terrible experience?

You just want what you want when you want it, don't you?!

You can't always get what you want and I am sure you'll never find
what you need!

Phyllis--

First, let me offer two suggestions for improving your letter. 1.)
Check grammar and try to use correct verb tense and spelling. 2.)
Include the location, date and how many nights you stayed in the
letter.

Second, I have a suggestion for what to do once you've checked in.
Ask for more popcorn. Pick up the phone, call the front desk and ask
for a second pack of popcorn. If you're truly unsatisfied, mention it
to the staff AT THE HOTEL.

The food is another story. It's not really the thing that should draw
you into the hotel, especially with the fully equipped kitchens. It's
just an added convenience for those not adventurous enough or capable
of going out for something else to eat.

Also, depending on the property they do sometimes close the pool for
the season in November. Try someplace with an indoor pool next time.

"one popcorn for more than one person is pretty cheap"

You paid for a room, not popcorn. They did not have to give you
anything. Go buy some at the store.

"I could smell the clorine that you put in the pool"

Good. That means it has been treated.

"I was wondering why other hotels do more business then your
hotel.Their hotel pool is the right temperature, and never shut
down."

This is January, winter time. Many pools are closed for winter. If
they are not closed, then they are going to be cold. Unless possibly
if it is an indoor pool, which you did not specify.

"Possibly their food is more then maccaroni, and salad. "

You know, it is okay to leave the hotel and eat elsewhere. I don't
choose a hotel based on their food.

Do you go around looking for things to gripe about? Start looking for
the good in things and you will be a much happier, more content
person.

You must have TONS of friends.

Phyllis, they probably heard about you wanted your toys back and
said,"let's put her in the worse room".

How did you feel when the pool was "closes"

Surprised you didn't threaten to sue like you normally do . .

Hello Again, Phyllis,

Sorry to hear you had such a poor experience. I know it's usually the
priciple more than other things at times. Sorry you couldn't enjoy the
pool and have more popcorn. Maybe it would have been better to chat
with someone at the desk or a manager, but I know that isn't easy for
some people to do.
Anyway, I hope this didn't spoil ALL of your Holiday too much!!
Happy New Year to You! Good Luck and lets hope for better days ahead!

I've heard of a few hotels that put extra chlorine in the pool. I
spoke to someone about it but it doesnt seem to be a major concern. I
do know sometimes people can get rashes from it, my son did and I
heard of others too. Didn't stop us though and not sure what other
consequences there are except annoyance, depending on if you could
smell it in your room which I would find most likely wouldn't happen.

I'm wondering if you tried talking to someone there first? Things do
happen, maybe someones measurement was off and they would have liked
to have been able to double check it or do what they could to fix it.

I'm just curious, when you did your titrations, what the chlorine
concentration was. I'm sure you aren't just basing your complaint on
the smell of a swimming pool. Surely you did some chemistry.

Let me get this straight, you are complaining that they don't give you
enough pop corn per room and there is chlorine smell coming from the
pool? Phyllis, why don't you go somewhere and for once look for the
positive things. I'm sure that this establishment wouldn't be
saddened if you did go to the "other" hotel next time.

Reply

by Tina N Posted Sat January 6, 2007 @ 9:50 AM

What are you gonna do with a hotel room? A room without a building is
kind of useless, isn't it?
If things are so horrible why'd you go BACK a second time?

Last, they have to put chlorine in the pool, I'd be afraid to stay in
a hotel that didn't.

You want a hotel room? Where will you put it? At least now you will
have room for the toys the Marines have no doubt returned by now.

Reply

by Courtney C Posted Sat January 6, 2007 @ 2:31 AM

if its THAT bad, why would you want a free hotel room? Geez that's a
lot of complaints. And what did the manager say when you complained to
him WHILE you were THERE. Surely you talked to him instead of dashing
off an email 2 months later and grabbing for freebies, right?
