Very happy with customer service/management at Target

I would like to comment on an experience I had at your store in Pine Brook New Jersey. I had purchased a CD there before Christmas, and I just got around to opening it yesterday. I found the CD to be unplayable on my CD player, which plays other disks just fine.

I put the CD back in the bag it came in (it came in its own bag because my other items were heavy), and brought the receipt with me. I was greeted at the counter by a cheerful woman whose badge said "Hillary". She was sorry to hear about my trouble, and as she was processing my return (she asked if I wanted a replacement, and politely informed me when I asked that I couldn't substitute another title by the same artist), a manager named "Mike" came over. Mike was also very nice and confirmed the policy was to replace my disk or give me a refund. I elected a refund. I had my original credit card with me, and they had no trouble putting the funds back.

I pointed out that I had heard a lot of guff regarding returns at an online site. They were professional and said "well, it is the holidays and we have a lot of returns." On pressing the point, they confirmed that many customers are not familiar with their return policy. They said many customers do not have receipts. I told them I was shocked, because I have never tried to return anything without a receipt. They smiled nicely and told me to have a nice day.

I just wanted to commend your staff on being friendly and professional. I like shopping at your store, and I hope you'll keep up the good work.

Finally, a customer who didn't get angry with Target. You need to be
put in the Guiness Book of World's Records.

I am actually suprised they gave you a refund. Usually, for copywright
purposes, you can only exchange it for the same title. Very nice the
system worked for you :)

What a great letter! Thanks for showing how simple the return process
can be when you have the receipt and follow the posted policy!

Don, will you marry me???? LOL

All kidding aside folks, see how easy it is when a little thing called
a RECEIPT is used when attempting a return or exchange at Target?

A little thing called 'personal responsibility' makes life so much
easier, doesn't it?

Fabulous letter Don, especially in the wake of all the 'oh poor me.
Target is so MEAN' letters we see on here ALL THE LIVELONG DAY! :)

You get a heartfelt THANK YOU from me, and countless other regulars on
here.

You guys will take any chance you can to judge other people. This was
a great positive letter yet you still feel the need to bash the people
who don't have receipts.

Great story! Simple as that, you had your receipt, you got your
money. Tell us, did you get the other cd?
Hope you haven't had any trouble since. It's a pain when you get a
new cd and it won't play.

wait wait wait. Hold the flippin phone. A customer.... who UNDERSTANDS
the Target return policy? You're not... complaining about it? Nope,
sorry, don't buy it.

Ok, I'm done being silly. :P Seriously, thats great that you found
everyone to be helpful and friendly. Targets policy may not be popular
with everyone, but they certainly don't try to HIDE it, which makes
the hundreds of complaints about it kind of funny. Nice letter and
glad you're a satisfied customer. :)
