"discover happiness after a hair break-up. my strengthening shampoo will help you find the strength against damage with my formula fused with pearls & coco mango. my formula, with an anti-breakage potion, strengthens to help prevent breaks. leaving your hair luscious and loveable. get over your broken hair with my strong-willed conditioner."
PEARLS? Can that be done?
just found it amusing because it has an "anti-breakage potion" just in case the pearls don't do the job.
and they call their conditioner "STRONG WILLED"... he he he....
Are you still "rinse rinse rinse repeat" ing???

Oooh you know what's really good? The Sunsilk line. After enduring the annoying commericals for about a month, I decided to try the yellow for flat hair and it worked like a charm! Even when I let my hair air dry it still has extra lift.
On there website they have a cheesy quiz you can take to determine which kind you should use for your hair.
Forget the essence and 'Get Hairapy!' Good Luck!

Sounds like it's just not right for your hair type. It's frustrating, but hair products, unless you go to a salon and take their recommendations, is pretty much hit or miss.
It may be the worst for you, but there are others who think it's the best they've ever used.
I tried many different products. Finally had to go to a salon and get a professional's opinion. Now, I pay more, but my hair is better than it's been in years.

I'm sorry you had such a bad experience with this shampoo. I have thick (density), fine (texture) hair. I am also on a prescription that weakens my hair. This shampoo & conditioner has done wonders for me. My shedding and breakage has been about halved. I don't really do any complicated styling though, just some volumizing mousse while wet and let it air dry. I do use a dandruff shampoo immediately previous to this one as well. I wonder if that has an effect on the Herbal Essences.

Sure, I'll join the fun.
I may not have the locks now, but there was a time when I had hair past the middle of my back. And before Red and Dragonfly get a chance to ask-NO it wasn't a mullet.
I was all about Mane and Tail. (Horse shampoo) It worked very well for me. Plus, I could go to a feed store and get a huge bottle of it for about $8. Chicks were always jealous of my healthy hair.

I used it way back when in college (LONG time ago), and if found my hair was coming out - not baldness, but a lot more was coming off in my hairbrush. I haven't used it since . . .and now I know I won't try it again.

This letter shows that you can always learn something useful from PFB-whether it's in a complaint or a compliment. My knowledge of hair care, already increased by previous postings, is further embiggened. Thanks for the letter!

I almost forgot... Pantene is also a bad one to use. My stylist said if you aren't careful with how much you use Pantene, you may need a chemical treatment on your hair to get the build-up off. Just a friendly piece of info!

EWWWWWW you can't brush your hair!!!
HAHA, OK, now that I got it out of my system... I was playing around.... and thanks for the heads up. I finally paid for Biolage...and my hair is very nice so far with it! Expensive but so far, it's been worth it

Great letter, and I hope your hair is back to normal soon.
Personally, I absolutely LOATHE Herbal Essences because I found their "hair orgasm" commercials disgusting and offensive (and I am far from a prude), and those commercials made me swear I'd never support those products (people on this site are probably sick of me repeating that, but that is seriously how offensive I found those commercials).
As for the product not washing out, however, is it possible that, by following your regular shampoo with a clarifying shampoo, you, in effect, overwashed your hair and that is why you didn't get a good styling result?
Anyway, toss the garbage and stick with what you know works.

As I mentioned, I've got a style that can be and is supposed to be very spiky, volumized in the back. I bought Got2b's volumizing mousse and it came with a sample bottle (a rather generous one, I might add) of Got2b 2 Sexy Volumizing Lotion. The stuff is AMAZING. I would seriously recommend you try it. All it takes is a tiny dab and it works wonders. In fact, I lent my sample to someone else and she went right out and bought a bottle, she liked it so much. Additionally, those couple of days my sample was missing (as I said, you use very little, so it was a generous sample - I plan on purchasing the full size when this runs out), my hair just didn't have its usual volume.
Highly recommended.

never noticed the lotion. It sounds like something I would try, as I'm always looking for something new, since I do have challenging hair.
I'm putting it on my shopping list.

Hey, I got a picture!... and it's the right one, too!
While I'm here, I was wondering if anyone can recommend a shampoo for oily hair. Herbal Essence had a normal to oily one in the old line but not in the new one.
I have searched and searched but haven't been able to find anything for oily hair. Geez, don't teenagers have oily hair anymore?

Wow, so basically your shampoo made your hair like mine is all the time! LOL Soft, smooth hair is all well and good, except that in order to make it do anything but fall straight and hang there you have to use roughly eight tons of product. If you French braid my hair without some super hold hairspray, it will fall out the first time I sneeze. This does not result in the natural look I am going for. Major pain in the butt. Especially now that we have such soft water, it is getting ridiculous. So I hope your hair goes back to normal soon, because soft flat hair is no fun.
To get rid of build up, you might want to try Aveda's Hair Detoxifier. You only want to use it once a week or so, but it kicks build up's butt! Good luck!

I'm always looking for something to smooth my hair. But I agree, residue is defeating the purpose. I am curious though, I have a thick head of very curly hair and need products that smooth it out such as frizz ease (which can also leave residue) but it's necessary for me if I want to maintain any kind of length.

What a shame it didn't work for you! I LOVE the new Herbal Essence shampoos. I have used the body formula and... frizziness formula. I can't think of their actual names. The frizzy formula makes my hair so smooth! And I don't have to use an additional product to untangle my hair. :)
