The Real Cost

Posted Mon March 5, 2007 11:15 am, by Andrew W. written to Dollar Rent A Car Systems, Inc.

Write a Letter to this Company

On January 3d, I arrived in the Fort Meyers airport and picked up my lovely Dodge Charger from your rental desk. I had printed out and brought with me my rental reservation, which had an estimate for total costs of $194.00 for three days, including taxes and other fees. When I returned the car, much to my dismay, the bill came close to $400.00. It's difficult to plan a budget for a trip when the difference between estimated costs and real costs are this big. Most of the difference was in county taxes. Don't your computers have the capacity to estimate costs better when the car is rented at a major international airport?
The car was beautiful and clean, the service was very good, and I'm sure I'll rent from your company again.

I'm not after even a partial refund. I'd just like you to send me a letter and explain to me how something like this could happen.

I can understand a little leeway between the etimate and the actual
cost, but this was outrageous. They absolutely owe you an
explanation, but I would say that they also owe you a refund for any
amount above the estimate. Good luck with this, and please let us
know if they respond. Thanks

Thanks yourself, Rx Girl. Doesn't Planetfeedback post responses from
companys? I think it's important to know not only if the company
responds, but also what exactly they say.
