Tide Simple Pleasures is pure bliss

Posted Mon March 5, 2007 1:42 pm, by Nichole K. written to Tide Liquid

Write a Letter to this Company

I tend to be very sensitive to the way things smell. Because of this I have tried many many different laundry detergents. I have used powdered and liquid soaps made by different companies as well as Tide. I have found the perfect line of laundry soap.

I had seen Tide Simple Pleasures in the Vanilla & Lavender scent on the shelf and was drawn to it, well because it was my favorite color. My husband isn't a fan of Vanilla but I thought I would try it out anyways.

The first load came out feeling fabulous and smelling even better. There isn't so much a Vanilla or Lavender scent but a perfect combination of the two. The sweet floral smell is bliss. I can't wait to try out other scents!

In the past I have always been happy with the quality of Tide laundry detergent. Thank you for improving that quality by realizing that smelling beautiful is just as important as smelling clean.

Sincerely,
Nichole K

Hey, I e-mailed you about the recipe for detergent which I am REALLY
interested in, but didn't get a response. You didn't put me on your
'block senders' list, did you? I'm afraid to send another one 'cause
you might see me as being a stalker.
Can you post the recipe? I'm sure I'm not the only one that would
simply LOVE to know how to make it.

I like the Tide Simple Pleasures Vanilla & Lavendar and the general
direction that the scent of laundry detergent is going. I don't like
the astringent "blue" stuff that smells like it could clean a toilet
bowl - the florals are so much nicer, especially when you do linens.

No seriously - this stuff is really good! I'm a guy and usually not
very particular about the smell of my bedding as long as it's clean),
but I must say that this is a great product. We did our first load
this weekend with it, and it makes the sheets smell sooo good!

If I wasn't allergic to Tide (everytime I have ever used it I itch all
over and break out in a rash), I would definitely try this product.
Since I am allergic, I will just have to take your word for it!

I love all the Tide Simple Pleasures products, but this last time I
bought Snuggle Vanilla and Orchid Kiss fabric softener. I like the
Snuggle better, but hubby likes the Tide, even though to me the Tide
is a bit more perfumed.

Loved the letter. You're my hero.

I wish I could try it, I know my husband would love it.
Unfortunately, I'm allergic to any detergent with scent in it. I
can't use anything but Tide Free anything else gives me a rash.

I ended up with a rash during my last stay in the hospital from their
detergent. Luckily I bought some of my own pj's and was able to
change and the nurse got me sterile pak sheets from the OR. I was
miserable!

I was born with the amazing ability of total indifference when it
comes to caring how detergents smell. I guess I prefer the
perfume-free stuff, but I'll use whatever's on hand and it doesn't
bother me.

There was, however, one exception: one time my mum bought something
that made clothes smell just like the worms we had to dissect in
high-school biology class. I'm not exaggerating either: the smell was
identical. I'm not exactly certain it was a detergent: it might have
been a fabric softener or something. I wonder if the same brand also
offers Fetal Pig and Formaldehyde Froggie scents as well.

I am going to have to try this stuff.

Sometimes I go a little overboard with the fabric softener because I
love going to sleep on fresh smelling sheets. Maybe with this stuff I
can save money buying too much Downey on something more important.
Like beer.

I do a LOT of laundry and I've always liked Tide products. I did get
to use a two wash sample (which equals a four wash or more in a front
loader) and was pleased to notice the aroma still stayed even after an
extra rinse cycle. Most other brands (Gain, All, Sea Breeze) tend to
lose their scent after the extra rinse-- tide and Purex and Arm and
Hammer seem to hold up well.

I just wanted to tell everyone that the boys were downstairs with
daddy folding laundry and kept coming up to talk to me. Every time
they came up I would catch a great big whiff of the detergent. It was
fabulous!

If you're sensitive to some scents, I would suggest you make your own
detergent. I found some recipes online just this past weekend so I
could make my own powdered detergent (my front loader washer prefers
powder, for some reason). The homemade stuff is not only many times
cheaper than what you buy in the store, there are no fillers or water
added, so only two tablepoons does an entire load of laundry! You can
sent the recipes with as much or as little (or none) as you like, with
essential oils. I prefer to NOT use scented products to wash my
clothes.

Good letter! :)

Hmm... I must try the Lavender. I have sensitive skin as well, and
ever since the duty of keeping the washing machine appeased has been
dumped on me, I've been trying to find a brand that doesn't make me
itch and doesn't smell like a public pool.

I have used the Jasmine ones, and I really like them. I also really
dig the Tide and Bounce with Febreze in them. Right now we are
"citrus and sunlight," all over the house. Rand vetoed the Vanilla
and Lavender, because he doesn't like vanilla, but I might just go buy
some anyway.

Side Note: Isn't it funny that vanilla is supposedly an aphrodisiac
but neither of our husbands like it? Huh. *shrugs* :)

I am ultra sensitive to smells so I always bought unscented laundry
detergent, until I discovered the Purex lavendar scented one. I
didn't try Tide because I wasn't sure about the vanilla.

If you love lavendar and use fabric softener, try Lavendar Sachet. It
is also heavenly bliss. I stopped using fabric softener because it
gunks up the dryer screen (burning out the coils to the tune of
$150.), but I sure do miss the scent of Lavendar Sachet.

Great letter, Nichole.

I don't use this because my washer says I HAVE to use HE detergent but
I do have the Downy Simple Pleasures Rose & Violet liquid. It smells
great too! You should try it.

Do you use the matching Downy Simple Pleasures or just the Tide?
