Chili's Missed An ENTIRE Entree

At the Chili's in Macon, GA on Northside Drive, my family ordered food for take-out. The order, in short, was missing an ENTIRE ENTREE! This was the second or third time this had been done. The manager (who deceptively presented herself as just a server during the intial phone call!) was unwilling to give money back (the bill was paid for in cash) per the mistake and was extremely rude in giving options to make the situation better. The manager over her gave his business card -- as this would make anything better -- and promised to do something, but did nothing.
I contacted the home office of Chili's after the incident and received no kind of the promised feedback, positive nor negative. This was over a month ago today and still waiting for some kind of response. Because of this, the restaurant has lost 5 customers (my family) and a handful of my friends as customers as well -- seems the situation is more prevalent than I thought.

For those who said check the bag -- it was supposed checked by the staff!
For the person in Macon -- recommend all you want. The people here in town know when others are passing through and those who live here.
As for those who mentioned getting freebies, its clear that is what you are after! Not all of us are out there for something, we simply voice what happened. sheesh!

I once ordered food from Chilli's and when I got home there was no food in the bag. Only napkins and two plastic forks. I was outraged to say the least. I called the President of Chili's and he was so upset about the incident, he flew in the corporate chef who prepared dinner for not only my family, but the entire neighborhood just in case I complained to everyone that I know, and then the possibility of losing business from a lot of people. In hindsight, I should have asked for my own franchise. I'm pretty sure I would have received one, plus the chefs dinner. Obviously I deserved it.
Hey next time, check the bag. Like everyone else stated, an entire entree is hard to miss.

it happens. and sometimes it happens a lot. i'm thinking you need to find another restaurant since this has happened before. by the way, by simply performing the patent pending "Eydie's quality check" you can forestall future disasters. It works like this: "Check the order before you leave."

I would expect that you would (assuming you kept frequenting the location) carefully check your order before leaving. A whole entree would take up considerable space and weight, so I would think it would be easily spotted as missing.
I'm sorry. I wanted to believe this story. But I have decided it can't be taken seriously. You're vocabulary isn't bad, as using the word prevalent isn't that prevalent. However, you weave a tapestry full of slip knots, IMHO.

I have a hard time believing this letter. I used to travel through Macon a lot and frequented this particular Chili's quite often. On the rare occasion when something went wrong, the managers were always apologetic and fixed the problem right away. This was only about a year ago so unless there has been major turnover, I can't imagine the establishment being as poorly run as the OP makes it out to be.
Just my 2 cents and then some...

Wow a manager deceptively acting like a server on a phone call? Did she at least try to disguise her voice? Just curious I guess.
The one here usually does a fine job and yet I always check before I get home. They may have missed a line item by mistake, but can you see their problem too? Not everyone is honest like you and people will purposely take something out, go back and say it was missing. If I check right there before leaving (I know it's a hassle) They will see for themselves it indeed IS missing.

Wow that's too bad. This happened to us at a pizza place once they forgot a kids meal we called them when we got home they said we can come by to pick it up but we weren't going to go out again (our loss).
Since then we started checking our take out food. They are so busy at these places they are bound to forget something once you point something out they immediately fix the problem.
Don't listen to the other people (they must have great experiences all the time that they can't sympathize) you have every right to be upset and not to frequent that particular restaurant anymore.

Since your experience shows that this is an entree-forgeting Chili's, why didn't you check the bag before you left? And the manager didn't give your money back for something you paid for but didn't get?
I don't believe it for a second.

To counteract this letter, I am advising all of my friends to eat at Chili's more often.

You mean a whole entree, as opposed to only forgetting half of one?
Spend as much time checking your order as you do fishing for freebies, and your problem should be solved. Multi-million dollar companies don't care about five people and a handful of their friends.

Is this really the second or third time this happened or are you hoping for a free meal. Because if this happened before one would expect you to check the bags.

Wait, wait.
The second or third time?
And you're still not checking the food before you leave?
(I know, I know, you shouldn't have to - in a perfect world - but if you insist on patronizing this place after getting stiffed more than once, not checking the order is kind of a no-brainer...)

I doubt your friends are really going to stop eating there on your say-so, regardless of what they say.
The situation was simple. You bring your order back inside and ask to speak to someone.
