Taco Bell needs employess who care.

Every single time we go to Taco Bell, they mess up the order. Every single time!! I can honestly say not ONCE has an order been correct! This is at many different stores too, not just one location. How can this be?

How can any place do it wrong every time? It doesn't matter if it is the drive thru, or inside.

So we learned we had to count what was in the bags, to make sure it was all there, etc. Give it back to them, you got the order wrong.

This was after trusting them that it was right, and driving home only to find it wasn't.

So then that wasn't enough, we would get home and then find out the items didn't have what was requested on them, or it was a taco and it was supposed to be something else, bla bla bla.

NOW when we order there, we have to take apart EACH item to make sure it is correct, and everything is there.

How stupid are these people?? If they can't handle a fast food job, then there is a serious issue.

Some credit for food there. Before we started to check every single item, we used lots of gas going back and forth to get the right stuff, only for them to say they are sorry.

How about better education for their workers?

I totally understand. It really makes me mad that folks that work
fast food always screw things up. But it really boils down to them NOT
CARING. Fast food pays minimum wage in most cases and the employees
get treated like S**t. I dont really think it has anything to do with
education. It is easy to say "just don't eat there anymore", but why
should I have to suffer and not eat at my favorite resturant of choice
just because the employees there have a F-you attitude? Alot of jobs
have quality assurance and I think that fast food should be no
different in that aspect. The folks that get offended at your voice
of opinion about fast food workers being "stupid" really have no right
to get mad about that. If someone orders something a certain way it
should be served that way. I work for Sprint and when I tell people I
work for Sprint I get this response: "Sprint sucks" "Sprint has sucky
coverage" "Sprint customer service is crap". I dont get offended by
this because I know it is true.

C'mon, it's Taco Bell - the bottom of the barrel of the fast food
chains (didn't you see the You Tube of the rat infested store in New
York?)

You HONESTLY expect to find people working there that CARE?

And as for better education - I'm sure I'll get yelled at for this,
but if they were better educated, wouldn't you think they'd want to
work someplace a little better than Taco Bell?

It's things like this that want me to make the "work at least 3 months
in fast-food" law. Fast food is one of the worst industries to work
at. It has a high turnover rate, which means you could have 6
co-workers one day and be down to 2 the next. You are constantly
being harped on about "speed, speed, speed!". When people go too
fast, they are more likely to make mistakes. Then there's the
customers, who more often than not are rude, impatient, and sometimes
downright abusive. I have (as an asst. mgr.) told customers to leave
my store because they felt a need to use curse words to an employee
who was struggling to take their order correctly (f*ing b* comes to
mind). For some reason, our society deems it acceptible to look down
on those who work in the food industry. I'm not putting the blame
wholly on the customer, though. Managers are partially to blame as
well for the stress of fast-food work. I've seen a lot of
backstabbing, squealing, and overall lack of any loyalty. I've heard
managers brag that they can get anyone they didn't like fired. Or,
things like trying to cover a busy shift with only 4 people when to
make it run efficiently you need at least 6-8. Now, with a
shorthanded crew, you get customers complaining that everything is
taking too long, and managers yelling because you can't build
skyscrapers with a box of toothpicks. No wonder few people stay in
fast-food.

The same thing happenes to us EVERY time we go to the TB by us. Why
do we keep going back you ask? Because we are certin we will get a
T-Bone Steak (or waffles!) one of these days. All we do is count our
stuff. Sometimes we miss count. Some times we get something MORE than
what we ask for. for us, it evens out. One time they will forget
something ( and we miscount) the next time there may be something
extra. We have never driven all the way back the same day. If (and
we have done this at other fast food places) something was so wrong,
we bothered to want the correct stuff, we just CALL and they but your
name and order in a little book and the NEXT TIME you go, you get what
is in the book for free.

And, Dude, lay off teh comment about being stupid. How stupid are YOU
for going back when you hate the place.

We go back because we want to.

[How stupid are these people?? If they can't handle a fast food job,
then there is a serious issue.]

It's not a matter of "stupidity"; in many cases it's a matter of
miscommunication. Sometimes the cashier rings the order in wrong.
The preparers then have to follow the directions given to them by the
cashier.

It's also a matter of trying to be what they're supposed to be: FAST
food. Most times they're trying to get the order out in the fastest
way possible. That's when mistakes happen.

Trust me; fast food jobs are not as easy as a lot of people think.

However, I do sympathize somewhat with your frustration. Our local
Taco Bell has yet to get an order correct. But I don't sympathize
enough to say you deserve a "credit for food."

If you couldn't enjoy the taste of your food when the wrong items were
put on it maybe you'll enjoy it even less after this.

These are young people working at these fast food places and some but
not all would rather be in another place doing something else, like
the party out at Lou's parents cabin.

Some of them get bored with what they're doing and it won't matter to
them to pick that burger back up off the floor and toss it onto the
grill.
These are the lazy one's who just don't feel like walking over and
replacing the burger with a less sandy one.
Other's may be annoyed at the customer who complained and might
provide the burger with an offering you won't find in the condiment
section.

Now I'm not saying this will take place at each and every fast food
joint, but when the employee's are left under the guidence of an
eighteen year old assistent manager who know's what might go on.

Not naming any business in particular, but I know of one place where a
young employee took it upon his self to spice up the pickles by
urinating into the
5 gal. pale they came in.
Luckily this person was caught in the act and the place of business
shut down for a day or two while a complete clean up was performed.
(Good for them)
We named it the ********pickle, after the person who invented it.
BTW, we tell them to hold the ********pickle when ordering.

I will say this was not done at Taco Bell so you can sweat a little
less on that one.

You do however have to realize you'll never truly know what goes on in
the cooking area of any place you choose to eat out at, it's a chance
you take.
What does surprise me is your ability to keep going back to order food
from people whom you yourself has labled as stupid. In this case I
don't think opposites
attract.

I once complained about the poor service we recieved at a restaurant
and their headquarters sent us out some passes for a free meal.
We didn't use them, not that we wouldn't go there anymore because we
do, but because I wasn't going to present some coupons letting them
know I complained.
I think I'll enjoy my food better that way.

Do like most people, if you've had more bad experiences at a place of
business than you can cope with, go elsewhere. It's healthier to eat
at home anyway. (God I wish my wife cooked)

Most of these places are probably run quite well but some as described
do exist.
Just makes everyone hungry doesn't it.
Bon appetit

"How stupid are these people??"

I don't know. Do you think they keep going to a restaurant that gets
their order wrong every single time?

Calling the employees stupid isn't going to do much to endear you to
whoever reads this letter. Don't be surprised if you don't get a
response.

Always screwing up your order? I would not be going anymore. Try
Taco Time or another fast mexican place. It seems all the fast food
places mess up quite often. For one, everyone that works there is
always in a hurry, they don't care because they only make minimum
wage. I went to Mcdonal's once and I ordered just a hamburger. I got
home and there was no hamburger on it, just the bun, onions, and
ketchup. I brought it back and the guys said to me. "This has been
happening quite often" The times I have went to Taco Bell,
everything has been cold. :(

Your subject keeps jumping out at me. Even if I were making decent
money, I think that I would be unlikely to care much about serving the
kind of customer who asks "How stupid are these people??" And I'm
older than most of the fast food workers I've seen, so it's possible
that a few of them are even less mature than I.

If you're going to persist in getting food from a place that never
gets it right, then you're going to have to either accept what you get
or check everything before leaving the store. But I wonder whetherh
you might start getting exactly what you order if you went in there
with the attitude that the people working at Taco Bell have a hard job
that involves dealing with a lot of jerks, that they're not making
very good money, and that they're helping you out. They might start
caring more.

And if you see things that way, you might start caring less.

Well, I guess it all comes back to you get what you pay for. You spend
$3-5 for lunch don't expect great things. Who really wants to work
somewhere that only pays $5-$6 an hour, other than teenagers.
Reguardless of where you go you ususally get screwed at the drive
through. We always check our order before we pull away from the
window, sorry to everyone who is in line behind us.

are that bad, going back is not going to make them better. Stop
wasting your money and gas and make your food at home.

Well at least the learning curve works (check BEFORE going home
first). For someone who seems to expouse a "quality education" I find
it odd that calling people stupid is somehow being "educated"

Aside from the 'tude about fast food workers in general I think you
have a good point about educating workers. But I doubt you'd be
willing to pay $100.00 for a burrito to contribute to the tuition for
all the employees. I think it's nice if a company contributes to
tuition, but I doubt any could foot the bill and stay competitive.

I'm sick of all these letters about problems with cheap eats. If you
can't eat anything but fast food, get used to the fact that you're not
going to find PHD's working there.

They are probably just as stupid as you, as they are humans beings
too. The only justice in this world is knowing that when people like
you return the food, you are always less than dignant and believe me,
they will put a little extra 'love' in your tacos.
(And you were stupid enough to think it was extra sour cream all this
time).

try to find out which stores are corporate. they have lower prices and
they strive to do better because the district managers breathe down
their necks. better yet, try to find the number one corporate store. i
work at the best corporate store in my area and we are awesome. cars
through drive thru within two minutes, 99% of items correct, you
always get napkins, etc. i know there are lots of bad eggs when it
comes to taco bell. just avoid them.

While, I understand how you feel (I have a local Taco Bell that does
the same thing) why is it that you just dont go elsewhere? You also
did not mention where these "different locations" are as well, that
may be helpful. Taco Bell has a 1800# (1-800-Taco-Bell) that you can
call and make a complaint to. I've used it before, and have received a
prompt response from the District Manager. You cal also submit a
formal complaint in writing here:

Calling people stupid and degrading a job in fast food isn't going to
get your problem solved.

As all the other posters have said - - you should speak to the manager
and let him/her know the specifics of he problems you have encountered
with the orders you have received from the Taco Bell franchise they
are responsible for.

Reply

by LadyMac Posted Fri May 4, 2007 @ 2:09 PM

It's probably the location, since it is a franchise. The Taco Bell
closest to me does a fine job ensuring the order is correct.

Have you spoken to anyone in management about this problem?

Now I know what I want for dinner tonight. Thanks!

Well, she misspelled "employees" by RedheadWGlasses Fri May 4, 2007 @ 5:50 PM

by SiouxFan Posted Fri May 4, 2007 @ 12:50 PM

Your attitude warrants you nothing. You don't deserve anything.

Why do you keep going there if you consistently have wrong orders? And
why would you want coupons for free food there?

Where are the details? If you are going to say that they messed up so
many times, where are the examples? If you wanted to write an
effective letter (which this is NOT) you need to document how and when
they got something wrong, and also calm down. Calling their employees
stupid will get you nowhere.

Did you talk to a manager? What did he/she say?

You have a terrible attitude, and while I understand that it is
frustrating, there is no need to write a letter like this. As it
stands now, I don't think you deserve a thing.
