Rude Westgate sales rep nearly ruined our vacation!

We went on vacation in North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, the past week and your company nearly ruined our trip. When we arrived last Saturday May 19, we visited the visitor center and agreed to visit a sales presentation in exchange for reduced prices on tickets to the La Grange Cirque. We arrived at your North Myrtle Beach location and the sales man was very rude. They said the sales presentation would be only 90 minutes but he kept us there for about 3 hours. He was rude and pushy and got made because we tried to refuse the offer. That behavior was very unacceptable.
Tell your sales reps not to keep customers for longer then three hours and also stop trying to con people into your sales by offering them reduced tickets.

Was he one of those people trying to sell you a time share or something. I saw something like this on Married With Children. Just tell them you don't make much money and that is why you are not interested and they will leave you alone.

I usually steer clear of anything to do with time shares and reduced prices in exchange for anything.
If leaving early forfieted the reduced rates, they should have told you up front. If not I wouldn't have waited past what I was told it would take.I hope you at least got the reduced rate and were able to enjoy the show.

One of my parents' (relatively few) stellar parenting moments involved a timeshare salesman, a nice afternoon in "the country", and a "gold ingot".
I learned my lesson.
Although it might be entertaining to go to one of those things and start asking about ADA compliance.

I hate those presentations. Rarely are they worth it. We went to a few, not just for the offer but we really wanted to see what it was all about and see if we wanted to get one. It was very educational and we couldn't have learned what we did without going. I agree, they do try to strongarm you into signing because they spend so much time with you they just want to make the sale. Because of how lenthy our presentation was in Florida out in the hot sun and a while after a sugary breakfast,my blood sugar dropped and I passed out after exiting an elevator. The sales rep thought I faked it to get out of the presentation and left. Thank goodness my hubby was there at the time. Needless to say, he found another person to try to sell to! If we wanted it, he wasn't going to get it after that move.

the rep didn't try to get you to sign while you were passed out! Or point out how "deleriously excited you were over the great deal!" lol

Welcome to the world of timeshare/vacation package sales presentations. You agreed to the presentation, and at that point they consider you to have expressed interest in the idea of purchasing. Their job is to literally harrass you into signing up by pushing, cajoling, getting upset, playing "good rep/bad rep" and every other possible trick that MIGHT get you to make a purchase. It is not a con- you were a willing participant.
Remember this in the future; it is seldom worth whatever discount you are supposed to get to listen to these presentations unless you are seriously interested in purchasing. Next time just walk out.
