Rude, incompetent staff

Every time we go through the drive through at the McDonald's in Ishpeming, MI they get our order WRONG. I am ALLERGIC to aspertame and twice in the past 2 weeks they have given me DIET COKE instead of coke. Several times we were missing food all together. This is really annoying when you have 4 kids and go through the drive through to SAVE TIME. Then when I have to go back inside to have the order corrected the workers are rude...for THEIR mistakes. There's no reason for this.
Train their workers and send some type of compensation for their workers wating my time and the time of my children...and for making me ILL.

Why do you continue to frequent a place that cannot get a simple order filled correctly? Are there any other fast food places nearby?
More importantly, if you are eating McD's THAT often, then aspartame is the least of your worries. That food is horrible for your health. If you eat there because you're in a hurry, consider putting a meal in a crock pot in the morning, or the night before. You will get healthier meals, cheaper, and won't need to worry about an allergic reaction.

I usually stave off the drink thing by getting water or just ordering food and providing my own drink. Nowadays, most drive-thrus have upgraded their systems to include a monitor at the DT that shows you what is being rung up. I usually watch this to make sure my order is correct. You amy also want to tell them when you order your coke to make sure it is coke and not diet as you are allergic to the sweetener. Most of the time this makes the employee more cautious (usually because if they give you the wrong thing and you sue the company, they can get fired).
BTW, you won't get a comp for time, so it's bad form to try.

but if you have an allergy, it is YOUR responsibility to check it.
Even though it is the drive through, you could ask the person to fill the cup in front of you so you can see that it's not diet. But even that's not 100% solution. While it's not common, someone could have accidentally switched the lines and unless that person handling your order takes a sip first to tell you if it's diet, they can't tell either. It isn't like diet smells or looks any different than regular.
Or better yet, could you drink Sprite? They don't offer diet in the fountain at Mickey D's and you'd know for sure it was right.
You also don't show anywhere that anyone was rude to you and unless you can give some examples (and preferably name some names) there's no evidence of this, only your opinion.
But don't come and demand that you should be compensated because of this. Bottom line, it wasn't a time issue, it was a convenience issue so you didn't have to take your kids into the restaurant with you.
Being that we're talking about a drive thru issue, I'd hazard to say that the value of your wasted time there might get you a small fry.

That's odd. Every time I go into McDonald's, the cashier stabs me in the arm, and my doctor's told me that stabbing is bad for my health because of a medical condition I have.
Also, they've left the onions on my burger a few times when I asked them to leave them off.
They gave me some coupons for free shakes, though, so I keep going there.

If a restaurant made a mistake that affected my health twice in two weeks, I would not continue to eat there.
I get that it's partly about convenience and partly because kids like McDonald's food, but still, it's my health. If you can get safe food when you go in, I would encourage you to go in to get your food. Yes, it'll take a little more time, but on the other hand you won't have to spend any time dealing with the consequences of drinking aspartame.

Regardless of whether you could have written a more positive letter that did not reek of looking for freebies...
I totally agree with you that we shouldn't have to double check our orders for accuracy.

After letters like this, I wish PFB could get some compensation for sullying themselves with such silly, wasteful letters. OP, I think your kids are dealing better than you, take some lessons from them, all righty?

How are they rude?
Why do you keep going back if they always get your order wrong?
Dumb.

Seriously - quit using your kids as pawns in your quest to get free stuff.
It's disgusting and seriously undermines your credibility.
If your coping skills are THIS poor in dealing with t he two relatively small things that happened here (McD's and Hyatt), I cringe as to how you'll cope when they're teens.
Good luck with that.

So, two letters to companies via PFB today, and in both you're asking for compensation. I see a pattern.
When you're going through the drive through, you need to check the food before you go. Should you have to? Probably not. But it's just what you must do -- mistakes can happen.
As for your alleged allergy to aspArtame, that's not possible. It isn't an allergen. (Look it up.) If you are sensitive to it, then have someone take a sip of your pop to be sure it isn't diet. Or go into the store instead of the drive through and watch them to make sure you get regular pop instead of diet.
