4 attempts at delivery can't get it right

Write a Letter to this Company
On June 6, 2007, we purchased $2000 worth of appliances from Brandsmart, scheduled to arrive in 2 days. We packed all of our food into coolers to prepare for the delivery of the new refrigerator. Upon delivery, the refrigerator was damaged. Understanding mistakes, we packed everything out of our coolers and back into the old frigerator and waited 2 more days. On the second attempt, the frigerator opened on the wrong side. Again, we packed our food BACK into the refrigerator. Even though this was Brandsmart's error, we were told we had to wait 2 more days.
On the THIRD attempt, the refrigerator AGAIN opened on the wrong side. We were advised to wait another 2 days. Outrageous! We refused and the salesperson agreed to ship us the correct refrigerator "the first shipment of the next morning." Well, lo and behold, on the FOURTH attempt, which was not the first or the second delivery in the morning - but the late afternoon delivery- the refrigerator arrived DAMAGED. Brandsmart offered us a miserly $60 discount to take the damaged goods. We told them to refund us our money and take their poor-quality goods back.
I'm waiting for my promised refund. I lost over $200 worth of food after 5 times of transfering food from the refrigerator to the cooler. I haven't done grocery shopping for over a week, waiting for my new refrigerator. This inconvenience is great, yet customer service could barely care. Our sales person, who said he would personally guarantee our shipment was correct on the fourth attempt, wasn't even working that day.
In hindsight, I wish I told them to take back the stove and dishwasher - I wonder now if Brandsmart can live up to their warranty if I have any problems.
I'll never shop at Brandsmart again.

Thank you so much for your compliment. It just happens to be a topic I am well educated about. You are right, though. I don't mix words well. I pretty much just tell it like it is.
I appreciate your kind words again and you're always welcome to join in on any conversation.

Your intelligence, or lack thereof, is rather enlightening.
Let me begin by clarifying. Refrigerator manufacturers, unless a very rare exception, do not produce left or right handed refrigerators. The exception is that of a stainless steel surface. This is because handles are made to be interchangeable. With consideration to the manufacturer's label, it is placed where ever it is placed. Manufacturers do not ship two different versions of a refrigerator, the difference being which side a label is attached.
Therefore, when I read Venice's (AKA Gino's) first reply, I felt the point was well made. The assumption would have to be the letter writer ordered a stainless steel model which is made for the handle and hinges to be placed permanently on only one side. The point of this letter would not be that the OP did anything wrong, just that it may have helped to specify that it was a stainless steel model and elevate any ambiguity.
Ironically, Gino (AKA Venice) made the secondary post bringing us to Amber's most recent post. I guess I really shouldn't have assumed Amber was knowledgeable enough to know that manufacturers don't create a standard color (black, white, bisq) refrigerator that is left or right handed.
It's rather like the blind leading the blind. She must be the same gal who returned a half a bag of nails. As she claimed, she found that as she pulled each nail from the bag, for use on a north-facing home, half of them were facing the wrong direction.
The only way Brandsmart could have helped you is laughed when you wanted a left vs. right handed model, explaining that there was no such thing. They've got to be cracking up saying to her, "Ah, yeah. We can send you those special 'north-facing nails'".

Lee,
Yes, of course we specified the color and the door position.
The delivery people did not change the doors, as the logo would have then been "under" the handle and would look strange. The delivery people recommended that we receive the correct refrigerator instead of switching the doors.

Was your appliances, or at least the refrigerator stainless steel?
Stainless steel refrigerators come as either right or left handed. Black, White or Bisq are normally interchangeable.
You should have specified the color so there was not an assumption of a mistake on your part.

I wonder why the delivery people didn't reverse the door on the second refrigerator? I'm pretty sure all refrigerators are now equipped with reversible doors. It's a simple task.
