Would like to inform Mr. Brown that I have filed a complaint with the FCC. The way this companies treats it customers and the wise remarks when responding the should be out of business.
I purchased their double minute plan and my phone is no longer working, I never used the double minute program nor would they transfer the double minutes over to a new Phone so buy beware..
Refund
REF: complaint to FCC
To Whom It May Concern;
I bought into the TracFone double your minute $49.95 when ever you purchased minutes online or from a card purchased else where. I phone became disable and no usable before I was able to use the double you minute program and asked for a refund. I have called, emailed, and wrote to them via planet feed back and all responses were I was not entitled to refund. I asked if I could transfer to another phone and was told no.
Under the circumstance where I had not used the service nor would they work with me I think I am entitled to a refund.
TracFone Wireless, Inc.
Attention: Executive Resolution Department

Serial number for the phone 010503005682902
Sincerely,
Ronald P Rodrigue

I have had a similar problem. I bought an LG200C and the screen went haywire within three months. This phone had a double minute feature for life card already installed on it. It was a part of the purchase price. Tracfone decided to replace it under warranty. They sent me another LG200C and I sent them the old one back as per their instructions. My remaining minutes were transferred (after two extra calls to customer service), but when I went to add a new card, I found out that the removed the double minute feature. I called again to inquire as why the feature wasn't transferred, they said I never had it to begin with. I told them that the original phone did have that feature as I watched the minutes double several times. It was the only reason I bought that phone. They continued to tell me that I didn't know what I was talking about. They could tell by the serial number that the replacement phone was not a double minute phone, but how convenient for them that they couldn't tell that about the original phone by it's serial number. Lying bastards. This is a well established scam by Tracfone. My minutes ran out and I will never buy another product from this contemptible company nor will I ever recommend them to anyone.

I had a very similar problem with my first Tracfone. About a month after I purchased my DMFL card the screen went dead. Instead of purchasing a new one I called because the phone was under warranty. They replaced it at no charge, then transferred my minutes and since my DMFL card was less than 3 months old they transferred it, too.
The next time my Tracfone needed to be replaced (I'd lost this one), being an INTELLIGENT consumer, I purchased a new one WITH a DMFL card that came free.
Please, do your research. I'm willing to bet that your complaint to the BBB came back with them stating that their terms are that the card is non-transferable and that you're SOL.

Your letter is too "all over the place" and therefore difficult to determine exactly what you're complaining about.
Sounds like you had a TracFone, purchased the Double Your Minute plan and the phone subsequently died. To the best of my detective capabilities, it appears you may have then purchased another TracFone on-line and wanted to transfer the Double Your Minute plan to a new phone (and phone number) and were told no.
Did you contact TracFone prior to purchasing a replacement phone to have your number transferred or just assume you could transfer the $49.95 plan to a different phone?
Your letter to the FCC only says that you purchased the Double Your Minute plan, your phone died, you asked for a refund and TracFone said "no". Why should they refund your money? The fact that you don't have a working phone is quite frankly not their problem.

Ron, I understand your frustration, but this is common with ALL pre-paids.
Usually with phones, even if you get a new phone, you can transfer your account over to the new phone, including all of your minutes that you had. Did you just buy a package from the store and set up a new account? If so, that is why you are unable to transfer your minutes.

Ron--dont be bothered by the comments from the corporate trolls. Congrulations on filing a complaint with the FCC! When you do this you are not only acting on your own behalf--you are protecting other citizens from the corrupt practices of the cell phone industry. Well done!

Maybe Federal Trade Commission (FTC) but not Federal Communications Commission (FCC).
The FCC regulates the airwaves and frequency spectrum but not really the administration of said frequencies.
