Recent Carrabbas Experience

Posted Tue August 14, 2007 12:34 am, by Stefani B. written to Carrabbas Restaurant

Write a Letter to this Company

I am usually quite satisfied with Carrabbas. My family and I are frequent customers. However, we recently had a terrible experience at one of your restaurants located in Parkville, Maryland.

We ordered 2 caesar salads and a bowl of minestrone soup. The soup came out okay, but the two salads were completely wrong (one being a Johnny Rocco- not even close!). We were sitting at the kitchen bar, and we watched the woman making the salads re-do the salads wrong- again. She was almost acting as if her job was a joke. When waiters asked for their salads, she would say "not another one!" or roll her eyes. It took three tries to get the salads even close to what was originally ordered. By the time the other members of my party received their salads, I had finished my minestrone soup.

Furthermore, when I visited the bathroom, I found it in a state of complete disarray. Toilets were filthy. I chose the one stall I could find without a full toilet, and the toilet paper dispenser fell off the wall when I went to use it.

Finally, as I mentioned before, we were seated at the bar in front of the kitchen. We watched the man making the pizzas find one of his long dark hairs in the dough, take it out, and continue to make the pizza. Some people may find this acceptable to do in their own home, but as a restaurant patron, I was disgusted.

Usually I am more than satisfied with my visits to Carrabbas. This last trip, however, was just horrible from beginning to end.

Perhaps this location needs some help. From cleanliness to communication, there is definitely room for improvement.

Man, that is absolutely disgusting. I would have left right away and
explained why you weren't going to pay for your meal.

I would have been unsatisfied as well. Your letter was to the point
without being dramatic. Best of all, you aren't asking for anything
other than the problem to be addressed. It's nice to see someone who
really wants a restaurant to improve rather than get all the freebies
they can.

As others stated before me, it's always good to speak to management if
you can.

Good luck to you.

Overall this is a very good letter. It describes the problem without
being over dramatic. I also like the fact that it doesn't include the
"I'll never darken their doorway again unless I receive free stuff"
line.

The only thing I would have done differently is I would have tried to
speak with a manager while I was there.
