Where is My Order, World Pet Store?

Posted Mon August 27, 2007 12:00 pm, by Joanna S. written to World Pet Store, Inc.

I am writing this letter in the hopes that my situation can be resolved.

On July 16th, I placed an order through your website for 4 name tags for my dogs. On July 25th, I was sent an email stating that my order had been shipped through USPS. The Order Number is: worldpets-53586.

According to your website, the standard shipping time is 7-9 days. As of today, I still haven't received my order.

I have also emailed your company 4 times asking about a tracking number, when my order would arrive, how long the standard shipping is and lastly, how to get my money back. I have heard no responses.

I have also tried to call your customer service number many times and within the time specified that it was open. I can never get through. I am either put on hold for long periods of time or the call will end. I have tried from different cell phones and even a land line with the same result.

At this point, I would like to either have a tracking number to find out where my items are or to have my money refunded.

I, too ordered something from World pet store and never received it.
I called them numerous times, along with emailing them. I never heard
from them. I also filed a complaint with the BBB, but a year later I
am still out almost $50. Did you ever get your money back?

Funny how I didn't get a response until I filed a complaint to the BBB
in Ohio against this company. I sent him back an email asking why my
order showed as shipped when it was supposedly on back order and why
wasn't I informed it was on backorder. I also told him to credit my
money back to my Paypal account from where it came.

Hi Joanna,

I'm sorry for the delay with your order. The pet tags are on back
order and have been for a very long time. Your car number has expired
from our system. If you please give me a call with your the # I will
credit you back on the phone. If there is anything else I can do for
you please let me know. Or I will try to call you on Monday.

Thank you

So, I went to the BBB website to make a complaint. After I did this, I
looked this company up and apparently, in the last 36 months, they
have had 34 complaints against them. That's almost like one a month! I
wish I had seen that before I ordered from them!

I hope this helps someone else avoid this company.

I still haven't heard from this company about my order.

I guess the next step would be to file a complaint with the BBB,
although that was something I didn't want to do until the very last
option.

Yes, they have charged my CC. They mailed out the items the day after
it cleared.

Thanks! They must be shipping my items by Turtle Express! =D

Very good letter, Joanna. It's straight to the point and it's not
filled with things that have nothing to do with the situation.

Good luck.

The Post Office does not provide tracking numbers for packages unless
they were sent Express Mail, so asking for one won't get you far.
Dispute the purchase with Paypal and report them to the BBB. That
tends to get their attention. You might also try sending a certified
letter w/return receipt to them. Good luck.

Excellent letter. I really hope you get this worked out to your
satisfaction.

Is it possible that the items you bought were on back order? I've had
that happen to me with Toys R Us. The items I ordered went on back
order right after everything was confirmed. And it still showed my
order as available to be sent even though the items were not there.

That is what really bothers me about your letter.

You say "put on hold for long periods of time." Have you waited long
enough to actually speak with someone, and if so did you ask about
tracking information? If so, what was the response? From your letter
it sounds like you never spoke with anyone, but surely somewhere in
the company you can find someone to pick up the phone.

If emails aren't responded to, I go to the phone and stay there until
I speak with someone. I have a speakerphone, so I hang my phone up
and let it sit there for as long as it takes - 30 min, 40 min,
whatever. I won't stay that long with a phone pressed against my
ear...

Very good letter, no high drama, just the facts.

I hope they resolve this matter for you, quickly!

Did you pay with a credit card? If so, you can contact the cc company
and dispute the charge, as you have not received the items you paid
for. Good luck!

This is an example of a well written note people. He didn't fill it
full drama of how his dog was lost for a day and if he only had his
tags that was supposed to have been at his house by now.

I hope you get your issue resolved and thanks again for the drama free
note, it is refreshing.

I like this letter, although, I am wondering if USPS might have
something to do w/ the package? Do you know if they received it from
the store?

This is probably one of the better letters I've read on PFB. It's
clear, concise, and contains a perfectly valid complaint, without any
threats or unreasonable demands.

At the very least, they could provide you with a tracking number. I
hope you get this resolved.
