I purchased an airport express and loved it. I had a power outage in my house a few months after purchase from that time on I could not use my airport express. I brought it to the apple store in old orchard in skokie, illinois. Though I have apple care I was told my express 'was dead' the product would not be sent away, dealt with, or anything. I asked if my only option was to throw it away and they stated yes. How can a device that is apple experience a blown fuse and be non returnable, non deal-with- able? It was over $100 it is not like I was asking for a refund I was asking for an explaination but to be offered nothing is absurd!

Offer me an explaination an attempt to handle the problem and a refund or a product exchange

I'm not sure, but could it have been some kind of power surge that
frazzled the circuitry in the airport express, causing it to no longer
be able to transmit wireless signals to your computer? That might be
considered an "Act of God" and renders the warranty null and void. Or
maybe the warranty period was up? Did you read the warranty
information? It's just a guess on my part.

That electronics are plugged into "protected" power sources. IE surge
protectors or UPS's. If a power surge fried it, and it wasn't plugged
into a surge protector, that is no better than throwing the thing off
a 30 story building as far as the warranty goes. It is chalked up to
customer abuse.

Now if it was plugged into a surge protector, and still fried, most
reputable surge protector manufacturers also warranty their product,
and there may be a valid claim against the surge protector company.
