So instead of paying your bill like a responsible adult, you're wasting your money on an attorney who's probably going to charge you a hell of a lot more than $236? GROW UP. Pay your bills and quit whining!

As opposed to a good collection agency?? Pay your bill and the phone calls will go away. Instead of spending your money on paying your collection bill, you are paying it to a lawyer that is most likely not going to do anything for you. Stop complaining and threatening, and stop making up numbers that you will charge the company for making phone calls over the fact that they want the money that YOU owe. Grow up, seriously. It might do you some good. A little over 200 dollars is not worth this fuss so get over yourself, and pay the darn bill. Oh, and maybe take an English class.

Get a new attorney. Once you send a collection agency as cease and desist letter it is a $1000 fine each time they violate it!

let's do some math.. shall we?
you probably have an interest rate of 28% due to your lovely credit history.
You are not even paying the interest or late fees on this! (they do not call you unless you are late on a payment) You are going to be paying this bill for 10 years.
do yourself a favor and send $50 a month, MINIMUM and pay it off and cut it in half. Credit cards can ruin your life if not used properly.

"Hire some English speaking that understand the meaning of do not call."
As usual, someone with a very shaky grasp of the English language throwing hypocritical barbs at someone else.
People in glass houses...

I hope your lawyer "brushes up" on the law.
Having been in business and signing up with collection agencies as a last resort, it's worth the money to pay someone else for the aggrivation alone.
Collection Agencies are allowed to collect debt on behalf of companies consumers agree to a contract to pay debt and refuse to or can't hold up their end of the contract.

They WILL call until they get the money. What don't you get about that? $25 each time they call? For what? Why don't you try calling Sams or something.. not WRITING to them.

Take the lesson and maybe begin taking true responsibility for your actions and your life will get a whole lot better. I just might work.
Think about it!
Peace!

You are only paying them $15 a month but you can afford to hire an attorney at minimally $75 an hour? Fire the attorney, pay your bill and your problem will go away.

Amazing how you have all these great phone gadgets, plus a computer and internet connection!!!! WOW!
Sell your junk, lose your excesses and pay them the money you said you would when you signed the dotted...or straight line.

I've had collection agencies calling me over 40 bucks at one point.
My advice? Don't get all upset over this, just pay your bill as you can make the payments, and ignore the calls. This is just how collection agencies work, and you are just going to have to deal with it. Its extremely annoying, but its just the way it is. Its never going to change. And just pay it, because it WILL effect your credit score. I sure wish I paid stuff off on time, because now I had slim pickings for apartments due to my (terrible) credit score.
By the way, once its sent to collections, you are not dealing with sam's club anymore, you are dealing with the collection agency. I would suggest writing THEM a letter, not sams club.

I don't think you do have an attorney. In fact, I think you are full of bs!
Since $236 isn't "a million dollars", why don't you just pay it and put an end to the phone calls?

Have you considered changing your phone number? They can't call you if they don't have it.

Since you have gone to some elaborate lengths to avoid phone calls from parties you do not wish to talk to, I am assuming that the collection agency does not actually get through and speak to you. If they are not making contact and not leaving messages, I believe it is not illegal for them to call multiple times - anyone who knows better, please do correct me, it just seems as though I read this or heard it or something....
If you are paying monthly, and from your letter it appears that $15 was an agreed amount, and you indicate your intention to pay the debt, perhaps it would be better to take the call and clarify what the issue is.
Many people live paycheck to paycheck and get into situations where it feels impossible to get out. I understand the thoughts behind many of the responses, but I also think the OP deserves some slack - she isn't trying to get out of the debt and has probably incurred enough fees to offset the late repayment.
Lastly, although attorneys are expensive, we don't know the circumstances that she had contact with one. My employer offers a Legal Plan benefit that includes access to an attorney.
and those are my thoughts...

You state that "This lady IS PAYING THE DEBT THE BEST SHE CAN" and I'm wondering on what basis you are making that statement. It takes a while for an account to hit a collection agency and the fact of the matter is that it appears she did not pay her bill for quite sometime and now is wanting a collection agency to accept $15 per month which means it will take over a year for them to get their money and that just isn't going to happen.
Let's look at this another way - - what if this collection agency sponsored a Nascar vehicle and it was in your favorite color and you really liked the driver and they were even going to give you free tickets to the race and even unlimited free Peeps - - but they couldn't race unless they raised the money for the entry fee by collecting bad accounts from deadbeats. I'll bet under circumstances such as those you'd be the first person to throw this woman under the bus.

Far be it for me to make assumptions about your finances, but...
This is $236. I have to believe that there is some way that you can scrape together the $236 to get these people from bothering you.
If you really, truly, have no means of finding $236, then you have larger issues than having these people bothering you.
Not excusing their behavior. More, I think it's worth $236 to make them go away.

While I don't know the laws that apply to debts occured in the United States, I do know that nothing in life is free. You didn't pay the bill, obvoiusly for quite sometime as it had to go to collections. You brought this on yourself, YOU didn't pay the bill, YOU are only paying a small amount, YOU expect them to just stop calling.
NEWSFLASH, you took the companies money, and now you have to pay the piper.
You can't charge the collection agency for calling. They will laugh at this and throw it out.

Perhaps cut back on all your special telephone service features and use that money to pay off your past-due debt.
Or spend that money on your own English lessons.

If you have contacted an attorney, you should NOT be writing letters in a public forum. In fact, unless your lawyer has screened the letter, you should not be writing letters.
