To Whom It May Concern:

Good Afternoon!

Last year on the Day after Easter (I'm sorry, I don't remember the date). my Husband and I went into your store in Sherwood, Oregon. We weren't looking for anything in particular, just wandering around. We saw a sign that stated "All Easter 90% Off". We thought, "What the heck, Lets get some chocolate bunnies. After stocking up on more candy then we could ever eat, we turned into another isle at saw loads of Stuffed Bunnies.

We were THRILLED! We donate toys every Christmas to one of the local Children's Hospital. We filled our cart with bunnies and checked out. We were thrilled with the prices. We took all out to the car and stood by the trunk for a moment discussing if we wanted to get more. We ended up going BACK in and filled up another cart. After all was said and done, we ended up with 30 Stuffed bunnies for the kids.

I know that the kids will have a Happy Christmas with all those bunnies, I hope you will conceder doing something like at again. Maybe after Christmas or Easter again?

Thanks for helping us help the kids.

HAPPY CHRISTMAS!

Thanks for al the replies! I'm glad I can make you all smile. What I
didn't say in the letter, (it didn't matter) was that all this was
done with Barley-One-year-old Toddler. So we had to drag him in to
the store again. (Don't worry, he got his own bunny!) We have been
donating for the last 9 years. My husband says that when we deliver
the toys on the 23rd of December, THAT is Christmas to him. Not the
25th. He would be happy doing nothing on Christmas if he had to
choose one or the other.

We put up a box at work the week of Thanksgiving, Put signs up all
around the building and get loads of all kinds of toys. Which help to
make even more kids smile.

Funny enough, twice now, we have been strapped for cash for toys. But
something comes up to give us "help". One year it was my husband
winning a contest at Build a Bear. We got 17 Teddy bears that year.
This time, we were worried about this year when we found the sale.

There has been times when we get up and it is icy out. But by the
time we get the car loaded (we take all the toys we get from work home
and sort through them. You would be surprised the amount of people
that donate used, crappy, torn up and/or broken toys. KNOWING they
are going to sick kids!) the sun has come out and melted the ice.
Other times it will wait until we are almost home from delivering them
and the snow will start. Now, we are NOT religious people. But, call
it what you want, (God, Karma WHATever!) Something/someone wants us to
help these kids.

Our son is not old enough to understand what we are doing. But I
think next year (he will be almost three then) we can have him help
unload the toys. We wish we could see the kids get them, but we are
not allowed. Oh well, WE know they will be happy.

We don't do this for recognition, as far as we know, they tell the
kids "Santa" got the toys for them. We do this because we know that
the kids (and their families) are having a crappy Christmas being
stuck in the hospital, and this will help them (and their parents)
relax a bit and work on getting better.

What a great idea and great letter! Stuffed bunnies make great pals
regardless of the season. Thanks for posting your letter to Target and
for showing us something we can do in our towns. It's great to read
something so positive.

And I bet you won't want your Christmas donations to be returned like
a previous poster here...hmmmm, Dora?

That's awesome! And it's wonderful that you and your husband were
thinking ahead. You can get so many wonderful deals if you just keep
your eyes open. That also takes the burden off of spending the money
right at Christmas time when you're already spending money on so many
other things.

I absolutely love this letter. Letting Target know they've helped in
some way to bring joy to kids who really could use it, but for
planting the idea in others to think of doing something like this
during the holidays as well.

Thanks for sharing this one, it's really nice to see something
positive said about a store I like to do business with.

And anyone who really knows me, knows that I really love rabbits!

Hoppy Holidays!!

I can't help myself...I have to ask...

If you had 30 bunnies 7 months ago, are there over 1,000 of them now?

Hee hee, I couldn't resist making a bunny joke. What a great idea,
buying those for charity. I love the big sales after Christmas; I work
on the Santa's Secret Shop for my town, and we always buy the
discounted merchandise for that.

What a great letter! Thanks for thinking of others and for donating
cute stuffed bunnies for the kids (who can't possibly care that they
got them a couple of days after the actual holiday)! I love "Happy
Christmas" as well. Thanks for making me smile.

That's great to hear!

Target's clearance schedule for holiday items (Valentine's Day, St.
Patrick's Day, Easter, Summer items, Halloween, and Christmas) follows
as 50% off the day after the holiday and continues for a few days. It
then goes to 75% off, and eventually 90% off. How quickly the items
change discount percentages is set by each store.

So the day after Christmas, all (there may be some exclusions)
Christmas items will be 50% off. The rush in the morning is very
similar to Black Friday.
