I can't resist grabbing "comment #200" on this thread and just say
thanks to all for the comments below. On PlanetFeedback, you can
never entirely predict where the discussion will lead. As I've said
in a couple other posts, I respectfully ask that we continue working
together to improve the overall quality of our "conversation" about
consumer feedback to companies.

Well I see an awful lot of people defending their positions, and
saying the criticism OP's get for their letters is helpul.
I know of one letter in which someone noted a problem, and appealed to
users to tone down that criticism, and return to the principles for
which the site was founded.
Yeah, his name was Pete if I recall correctly, and he's a founder of
Planetfeedback.
Y'all still think there's no problem?

does it say that OP's have the right to post potentially litigious, or
patently false information.

There is much speculation as to why Rick/Richard/Dick and his
"crippled bride" continue to post their tale of woe with Motel 6 here
when they KNOW they are in legal proceedings. Bottom line, its not
appropriate.

And if you had bothered to READ the mission statement before you
posted it, you might have seen the following:

"We will educate consumers and help them provide feedback that can
lead to even greater value."

See that? HELP THEM PROVIDE FEEDBACK THAT CAN LEAD TO EVEN GREATER
VALUE.

That means that if you come here half cocked and write some rambling,
ranting gripe fest about a company with no real point other than
"you're mad" and no real solution suggested or acceptable, than this
probably isn't the place for you (not to mention the regulars are
going to hand you your posterior on a platter for it!)If you are so
upset that you can't see ever frequenting a business again over it,
what is the point of writing them to tell them this?

That's like, "I'm just calling to tell you that you are SO not my BFF
anymore. BYE!"

This site is about productivity and results, not dragging PFB into
your bizarre legal battle by continually trying to post defamatory
information about the manager and the company.

You are very bold, Douglas McBride and I am sure you could offer a lot
to the discussions, but you judging us for judging others makes you no
better than what you claim we are.

Stick around and OBSERVE for a minute. You, as many before you have
found, there is a method to this madness.

I completely agree with donno's post, and now realize that blkwidow
not only doesn't understand the purpose of this site, but she doesn't
know how to physically use it either. For someone so concerned with
comments, you'd think she would have figured out how to post them by
now. Her comments below are redundant and all over the place, making
it look like her only purpose here is pursuing a mission that she
somehow thinks is her responsibility. There's no point in having a
discussion with a closed-minded person who just keeps repeating the
same thing over and over. She may have a valid point in there
somewhere, but if no one cares enough to listen anymore because she
can't keep them interested, it's just a waste of time.

It appears that this site is being used inappropriately.

Recently a poster with the handle blkwidow has been posting
accusations about the regular users of this site. blkwidow has also
been making statements that letters that have been widely regarded as
without merit are in fact valid. However, blkwidow fails to give any
evidence to support his/her opinion. Instead, blkwidow resorts to
attacks on the people commenting on said letters (aka "the regulars"),
calling them "morons" and "idiots".

In addition, blkwidow fails to understand how the site works. Even
though blkwidow uses the term "regulars", blkwidow doesn't seem to
know the term means these people are indeed regular members who offer
feedback. Witness the complaint blkwidow has made that the regulars
are consistently found to give feedback, as if it is an inapproprite
use of the site (!).

Finally, blkwidow has chosen inappropriate venues for posting his/her
complaints. While blkwidow should have opened their own profile and
created a blog (or posted a complaint to PFB), blkwidow hijacked this
thread to make an attack on the regular members of the site. Such
opportunistic behavior should not go unnoticed.

While a site such as Planet Feedback must be open and public by
design, I implore all regular members to be on the lookout for rogue
character assassins of blkwidow's ilk.

It appears that the Planet Feedback site is being used
inappropriately. The motto at the top of the home page says "Helping
Consumers Express Their Voice, Helping Companies Prime Their Ears".
However it seems that visitors have changed the motto to "Let's
Critique the Shared Letters and Bully the Writers so the Letters Are
Not Shared Anymore". These are the same visitors to this site over
and over again. If you look at the shared letters, you'll see some of
the same names on every one of them repeatedly. A few of them are
Redheadwglasses, donno, harleycat, Adam D, Chris O, Michelle O, Cor H,
Srgntpeppr, Bill R etc. It gets quite personal and mean.
These same bullies are bitter, jealous, resentful, insecure, lonely,
idiots with nothing better to do than to sit in front of their
computers slamming and critiquing well meaning people that write and
share letters on the Planet Feedback site. Who is going to continue
to post and share letters any longer if they are going to be verbally
abused? I thought Planet Feedback was a site intended to write, post
and share letters for others to read about companies that we have
valid complaints about? Not a site for morons to abuse and take
personal jabs at shared letters and hide behind their silly handles.
I've posted my last shared letter. What's the point? So it can be
fodder for these idiots? Is this their only enjoyment in life?
Because they have no other life and don't get out like the rest of us?
It's so easy for them to criticize our letters because they probably
aren't doing anything themselves.

How come no one posted a 6 paragraph letter of complaint about the
site being down, asking for compensation?

also it was kicking me over to a complimentary gift card post for the
gift card scam post. thought a hacker got to the system lol

thank you it is working fine now, though I thought I screwed up my
computer. whooo!

And that now I was being cut off. I am relieved it was not just me,
but am sorry the whole site is having problems.

Thank you for all your hard work in getting this site back on it's
feet. I was going stir crazy! ;)

I'm just glad it's not my computer. I was about ready to throw the
harddrive out the window.

Nothing is coming through on RSS feeds, or is it that there is no one
complaining lately?
