THIS IS VERY TRUE. SUBWAY HAS BEEN HOLDING BACK ON PRODUCT. I CAN UNDERSTAND THAT IT'S HARD TO MAKE EVERY SANDWICH LOOK LIKE THE ONE ON TV, BUT THAT SAID, YOU HAVE TO BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR FALSE ADVERTISING THAT THEY ARE CONSTANTLY BOMBARDING US WITH. THIS IS THE REASON WHY PLACE SUCH AS QUIZNOS AND D'ANGELO ARE THRIVING. JUST AS OTHER COMPANIES ARE HELD LIABLE FOR FALSE COMMERCIALS, SUBWAYS WILL EVENTUALLY SUFFER THE CONSEQUANCES, SUCHS AS A POOR REPUTATION. WE ALL KNOW, WHAT A BAD REPUTATION DOES TO A PLACE

Yes please, I'd like my subway sandwich just like the ones on tv! All covered in chemicals and paints so it looks so delightfully fresh and inviting.
To complain about food not looking like it does on Tv is insane. I believe I was 9 when I first heard in school that they often use mayonaise instead of milk in cereal commercials because it holds it's form better and allows for "perfect" placement of each piece of cereal.
Do you enjoy your cornflakes with mayo too?

I've never had a flat sandwich from them. In fact, when I get a wrap it's kinda overstuffed.
When they make yours, there's no problem with asking for extra, if you think it's not enough. You'll have to pay extra for meat and cheese, but not veggies.
And, as others have pointed out - photography works wonders yes? At the local giant camera store they specifically have equipment for photographing food displays - light box filters, and stands. Using a good focus, large pictures, and glazed food items it's not that hard to get a tasty image produced.

Well, I'm not sure it's FALSE advertising, it's certainly DECEPTIVE but isn't that true of all advertising? Getting real though, we ARE talking about Subway. I don't think their sandwiches are all that great. My biggest complaint is the quality of the toppings. Meats are super poor quality, and veggies are often browning and nasty (this depends on the franchise). I'd be more worried about that than the advertising.

Let me guess you also want the burgers that you get from fast food places look like they do on tv. I don't know about you, but I would rather have a sub quick, fast and in a hurry then have to wait for like 45 minutes while they get it perfect.

Such as:
"*Precooked weight."
That'll be at the bottom of an ad or poster, when the ad is describing the "1/4 cheeseburger," for example.

If they don't put enough of something on it, just ask for more - they're making it right in front of you. It's not like they'll charge you extra for more lettuce. I always ask them to pile on the veggies!

All commericals enhance the actual product. Where have you been hiding. Subway doesn't skimp. If you need more food, then order more!

I used to work at Subway. ): The reason the sandwiches look so big and packed is because they set the meat on top of all the greens and such. When they are made, it is opposite, the meat going on the bottom. So of course they will look good on tv, they need to sell them....my philosophy is though that the subs taste good and you are eating it anyways so who cares what it looks like. After all, you don't see the burgers at Mcdonalds looking like they do in the commercials either...........they are all flat.

The real sandwich wouldn't make a pretty picture for a commercial that's for sure. They have to make it look appetizing and show what meats are on them. You really can't tell in the real sub unless you open them up.

EVERY restaurant ad -- whether it's a television or print ad -- portrays their food in the most glamourous way possible. And they're likely not using more ingredients in the ad, they just place them in a way that makes it LOOK like the sandwich has more fixings. I learned that from my ex who was in advertising.
If you're going to complain to Subway, you may as well complain to every other restaurant out there.

This seems to be the way many fast food restaurants do things. I know the McDonald's double cheeseburgers we sometimes get bear almost no resemblance to the juicy looking burger masterpieces pictured on their menu. And Taco Bell food almost never looks like it does on the menu.
I'm sure there's some reason why this isn't false advertising, mainly because these companies have huge legal departments that would surely change the signs if it were. Still, I wish you luck in your quest for a fast food sandwich that actually looks like it's advertisement.

While I would be the first one to tell you that if you got in the stores what you saw on tv you would end up paying probably 3 times as much as you do now, I have to say I agree with you on this one.
Subway is the WORST about this I think. I pretty much quit going to Subway because when I eat something like that, I go to Firehouse Subs. But thats one of the reason I got so fed up with Subway. They really are chintzy on their food. You are right about what you said however I think you could have been a little more mature and professional about your letter.
While there is no way they are going to make every sandwhich like the ones on their commericals (unless you want to pay 10-15 dollars for a sandwhich) they can meet half way and start putting a bit more actual food in the bread.
