"In no way do I blame Circuit City for this misinformation, in fact it appears it has happened several times in the past with other retailers dealing with Hitachi. That being said, I do put the onus on Circuit City to make things right."
Why? You admit the problem lies with Hitatchi so why would the "onus" be put on C.C.?
That's like blaming the salesman for not knowing the car he's selling you is a lemon. "Well, I know that the manufacturer has a history of problems with this car, but I blame the salesman 'cuz HE sold it to me."
I hate to say, if the whole 1080p was so important to you, why didn't YOU ask to see the manual or the packaging? Surely it needs to specify this somewhere with the tv. A big ticket purchase like this surely requires more research beyond what the associate told you.
You can point the finger of blame all you want. It's not their fault if they were told it was a 1080p and Hitatchi shipped them something different.

What is wrong with you people???? I don't need negative BS like this. Why would I belong to a website were everyone is cutting each other to nothing. There's way to much of this in the really world without looking for it!!!! Where's the compassion?

You may be out of gas here. Most ads whether on-line or in print have some kind of clause about being able to substitute the item for another if need be. They also ususally have something about errors and omissions.
Have you tried contacting Hitachi since you are aware that there are problems with ads that it puts out.

I haven't read the entire thread--it's too long, and I don't have time for this every day--but I have to say, I got a kick out of it.
As with every letter that comes through, the angry villagers gather, torches in hand, to pick the letter apart. Find a flaw, any flaw, exaggerate, misconstrue, whatever it takes.
This time though, the monster exits the castle and fights back. And the angry villagers whine. I especially love the line that David is not "making friends and influencing people." Reality check: OPs are not here to curry your favor, especially when you're being nasty to them.
Give David a break. Yes, his comments were as nasty (if not more so) than I've seen from many commenters--but by now, most of you had it coming, in spades. Consider this "mega dose of fight back" compensation for all the times that OPs didn't fight back, and quit whining about it.
It's nice to see the balance being tipped for a change.

is not the way to win friends or influence others. I really don't see how your post really helped your case, seeing as you're adamant that we are all idiots and don't know squat.
I think that you owe the person you insulted an apology and need to spent time away from the computer and internet in general to think about how you should engage your brain to finger filters.
