Your responsibility, your fault. Nuff said.

i'm sorry-- are you actually accusing walmart and it's security for being responsible for your stuff because you live in la la land and believe it won't get stolen?! wake up and smell the folgers. in this day and age you turn your back for a second and your stuff is gone. that's your fault, no one else's. adults take responsibility for their own actions. i just pray to god you aren't the parent of a small child.

This sounds awfully familiar to the person that shopped at Best Buy and had his TV stolen.

Your shopping cart and the contents from another retailer were your responsibility - - not Walmart security's.

Security isn't responsible for your belongings. They try to be responsible for Walmarts belongings. They are helpless to help you.My husband was Walmart security for a while. They literally aren't allowed to do anything about it.

You should count your blessings that you weren't shopping with a small child.
And this doesn't have to do with it being a "safe area" or not, you have to realize that crimes happen in the nicest of towns.

You leave your cart unattended and you blame Walmart? Is personal responsibility really that dead? Security doesn't need to be improved but perhaps not allowing idiots shop in the store would be a good start.

Unfortunately they can't catch everything because there are no camera's in areas where the shoplifting is low, and even if their security was able to catch the person that stole your stuff on camera that person is probably halfway across the world by the time they find out what happened. Either that or they have already put your items on ebay to sell.

This is one of the silliest complaints I have read. If you can't watch your own property, what makes you think someone who has no responsibility to watch your property will do any better?
You should be writing a letter to yourself, complaining that you can't be trusted. That would make sense.

I feel for you, but I will tell you the same thing I tell EVERYONE that I hear this from, and FYI it annoys the hell out of me to have to respond to a call where someone loses something in this manner. Keep an eye on your belongings! Do NOT walk away from your cart, do not leave your purse unattended, etc. It's YOUR responsibility to keep things together!

Ok, It is obvious that you left your shopping cart alone, so how is this walmart's fault?

This scenario happens at my store too. Most of the time, someone nearby walks back to their cart and puts something back in their cart. They realize it is not their cart later, and dump the cart.
They wont try to find the owner, they dont take it to customer service, they abandon it. That is just how alot of people are. They are the same people that change their mind on items and dump it in the wrong place throughout the store.
The cameras are installed for two reasons, shoplifting and store accidents. They are placed in high theft areas, and where accidents take place.
Do not blame walmart for you not keeping a watchful eye on your cart.
Good Day

Most stores have signs saying they are not responsible for lost or stolen belongings. I do agree that it sucks, but you are out of gas here.

Were you in the vicinity of the cart when it was taken? If you had bags in there with items you purchased from another store, you really needed to keep an eye on the cart. White Plains is a city, and like in any other city, you have to be aware of your surroundings.

You can't describe the thief, so what are they looking for? Some items in a cart? Can you describe the cart?
See the problem? It doesn't matter how good security may be, we have a personal responsibility to watch our own stuff!!
