Poor customer service reps and lack of tech support mean MORE FRAUD!

My wife & I have been members since 1999. We upgraded our Costco Executive AmEx cards to a TrueEarnings Executive Card. I called and followed all the directions. My card came in the mail shortly afterwards. Meanwhile, I'm still waiting for my wife's card. So I called today and the rep told me my wife's address is different than my address. WHAT?! WTF!? The rep had no solution, other than to cancel the other card and resend a new card with a new account number. Meanwhile, the other card has been floating out there, to our old address. What a joke.

When I call Visa and update my address, it updates the address for both my wife and I. There are no seperate addresses! This is a PERSONAL card, not a business card. There is NO REASON why you cannot link both cards addresses, so when one is updated, the other is updated. It is pure LAZINESS! If it weren't for Costco, I would have cancelled my card today. Unacceptable.

If Costco is the only reason to keep an "Tru Earnings Executive"
credit card and not the automatic dual card update issue, then I can
overlook the three letters after "WHAT?!". But would they?

I can think of one good reason why they won't link two separate
accounts:DIVORCE!

Why would they link two separate, individual accounts just because you
are married? I would think from a privacy standpoint that unless this
was a joint account or they were somehow linked, they wouldnt be able
to update both if one changed.

And clearly your wife had at some point used the prior address or it
would not have been on file - but when you upgraded the account, did
you not both CHECK the addresses?

My ex and I BOTH have CHASE cards and I thank GOD his information is
not tied to mine because then everytime he changes HIS info, it would
change mine too.

Believe it or not, that is for your own protection that they don't
update both unless you expressly request it.

I would imagine that the reason people don't tie a husband's and a
wife's address together in databases is that you might someday not
live together -- you might move somewhere temporarily for a short-term
job, she might want to rethink the marriage, you might need to go live
nearer to your parents if they become ill, she might want to get a
master's degree and get a really good offer from somewhere you'd have
to quit your job to go to -- and various companies do not want you to
contact them to shout "WHAT?! WTF!?" when all your mail starts going
to her place or all her mail starts going to hers.

I really don't think that expecting a customer to say, "And of course
I'll want both cards sent to the new address" is too unreasonable.
After all, you are in a better position than the credit card people to
keep track of whether or not you and your wife are living together.

Being able to have different addresses seems like a good thing.

They clearly made a mistake in doing the update. For which they need
to take responsibility. It appears they are, since they canceled the
old card and are sending a new one.

You should calm down. WTF, are you a child?

It sounds like AmEx has separate accounts for both you and your wife,
so maybe you do have to do address changes twice. Big deal. Using
"WTF" in a business letter is ridiculous and inappropriate.

WTF never belongs in a business letter. If you were my customer, I
would be happy to have you cancel your account.
