THIS MORNING AT 8:15 AM EST I WAS TRAVELING NORTH ON LAKE PLEASANT ROAD IN ATTICA MI WHEN A MAN IN A DISH INSTALLER VAN RAN A STOP SIGN AT NEWARK AND LAKE PLEASANT ROAD GOING EAST TO IMLAY CITY MI AND FORCED ME INTO A RIGHT TURN WHEN I CLEARLY HAD THE RIGHT OF WAY AT 55 MPH.

I WANT THIS DRIVER FIRED.

Maybe he does not know the area and missed the sign. It can happen.
Not excusing him but give the guy a break. Bet you've done something
stupid you weren't fired over in your lifetime.

What driver? How can they do anything if you can't tell them a plate
number or give them something else to go by?

And fire him? Right.

Well it would have been an Independant Contractor, Since neither
DirecTV or Dish Network use company installers, I know i used to be
one. Neither company will really even give you the time of day dealing
with this. The installer only gets paid by the amount of jobs he does
in a day, maybe you need to complain to the companies about how they
do their install contracting. Other then that you are pretty much out
of luck. I have done my share of rush to the next job so i can make a
living doing installs. Just glad to be out of that business.

Well it would help if you had some more information like the number of
his vehicle, license plate number or some other discriptive to
identify which Dish employee it was.

About 20 years ago a trucker cut me off on the highway and almost made
me crash into another car. I guess I was too young to think I had
options to do anything about it. It was a Bekins moving van. I did
eventually catch up to the guy driving it in order to show him some of
my bird collection that I carry in my car, one in particular. He had
dark brown hair. I'd like him fired. Think that's going to work?

demands. Chance the company will take this seriously = zero.

Was there a 1-800 number on the van, or a "how am I driving" number on
the van?! Seems to me that's the number to call or the way to
complain about a company's wreckless driven vehicles.

by Beeracuda Posted Tue April 1, 2008 @ 3:53 PM

This is not the appropriate site to complain about a driver. This is
a consumer complaint site, and thus, your complaints (or compliments)
should be regarding service that you received from Dish Network.

Of course, that's assuming you're even a subscriber to Dish Network.

by RedheadwGlasses Posted Wed April 2, 2008 @ 7:53 PM

I said: "It's perfectly acceptable to use a cell phone to turn in a
reckless or drunk driver."

You said: "No it is NOT 'perfectly acceptable' to use a cell phone
while driving!"

Two very different things. You assumed. You were wrong.

Reply
by Keith C. Posted Wed April 2, 2008 @ 8:05 PM

Using a cell phone while driving is dangerous. PERIOD.

Unlike you and others on this site, I don't claim to divine what a
commenter is thinking. I respond to what they write and ONLY what they
write. You're saying I'm making an assumption by NOT making an
assumption that this is the "only" situation in which you find it
acceptable.

You can spin this nine ways to Sunday, and you still won't be right.

I hate to tell you, but this may be an independent contractor. Since
there are often many different contractors working a specific area, it
may be hard for them to determine WHO did this.

And your demand for him to lose his job is out of line and uncalled
for, no matter how angry you are or how wrong you think he is. That's
not your place, nor is it your business.

How would you like it if I found out where you worked and demanded
that YOU be fired for posting this ALL CAPS rant during working
hours?

See my point?

Your best bet would be to make a report with the local police and
provide as much detail about the driver and the vehicle as possible.
This is a matter for law enforcement, not DishNetwork.
