I was a customer of dish network for 1 year and had enough of over charging and poor customer service. So on 1/3/08 I cancelled my service. Than I received a bill for $80 for early termination of my contract. Here is where the problem starts. The contract was never signed by me or anyone else in my family, because the day they installed it we left the installer outside and went to work. I have the original letter from the company I signed up with stating we declined the 18 month contract. We went to the sheriffs office to file fraud charges and the sherriff had my wife sign 10 times on the back of the papers and verified it was forged. After contacting dish network over 25 times in less than 4 months and listening to them tell me pay it and forget about it, I am in the process of filling a small claims case against them. They are the worst customer service of any company we have bought a product from.
Have someone look at all the paper work and copies of the forged signatures and live up to their end of the deal. I paid my bill every month on time and have never had this experience with any company before. Dish network wanted us to pay on time and did, now they want to cheat and steal to get something they don't deserve.

Just wondering, if you take them to small claims court doesnt that mean you have to sue them for money?
I have Dishnetwork have for over 3 years, I love it no problems, no overcharging and I always get great customer service.
For example
We had paid for Qwest for the Cup last year, all the games where blacked out so we didnt get to see any. Dish credited my account.
Good Luck!

If you're suing them, then I doubt they'd do anything to help. The entire last paragraph proves their case for them. Now they have time to think of a plausable defense to this alleged fraud. If you have a copy of a letter declining the 18 month plan, then why have your wife sign for the sheriff?
If they have your wife's signature and can prove she changed her signature on purpose, then what?
My guess would be, that paying them for a year would imply that a)you allowed the set up b)you accepted the equipment c)you established that there was some kind of agreement to their standard terms and d) they have the right to get their equipment back and an early termination fee if the payments are in line with their normal contract.
Why pay for something you didn't agree to for a year?

My wife signed her name for the sheriff because dish network told us to go file fraud charges. I ordered dish network and had them set it up, payed for usage of a year, but you don't have to sign a contract to use this product. You have implied that a contract was signed which it never was, that is the whole point here. Please get your facts straight before answering A) No contract was signed B)You can accept the equipment with no contract C)They got their equipment back based on their standard terms with no contract and D)Paying for something for one year of usage does not imply a contract or allow them to sign my wifes name on anything. To give you a work of advice signing someones name without them knowing is fraud and makes that contract void. Are you an attorney or a judge, because I beleive that I have spoken to enough of them in the last month to prove my case in small claims court. Also the attorney general for the state I live in beleives the same.
