Good letter. Free of whining, annoying phrases, and any kind of freebie grab. Just a reasonable request. Kudos for also being considerate of the employees.
You sound like a good mom.

So you're constantly returning merchandise then griping about climate control and aisle widths. Bet the whole place runs for cover when you walk in the door.

JCP sucks anyway. Every day is a sale, which means nothing is ever on sale. and the whole buy one get one for .88 cents is such a joke. Right, spead $35 on a tshirt and .88 cents on the second. Who is being fooled here? BOGO are the same thing. Pay $45 for one pair of jeans, get the second free!

I've seen this before myself, and not just at JC Penney. I hope they take your suggestion seriously and make some changes.

I agree as well. Because at one point I was one of those employees, though working at another company. When you have to wear a blazer all day and it's 90 degrees in your store it's uncomfortable. Customers complain and you loose business and employees as well. As for making space for strollers and wheelchairs, a good point. People have choices to take a stroller or have his or her baby in a front or back carrier, though I would think carrying a child around in a carrier would give him or her a bad back, that is their choice. At my store we had guidelines and company visits to make sure we were giving ample space to move around.

It does seem the aisles would ahve to be wide enought to accomodate someone in a wheelchair, and certoianly, nost strollers are more narrow than a wheelchair.

I agree with this one........and at Target too, and I work there! When I am stocking, I can't even get my buggy through the maze of clothes racks. And we are constantly repairing pegs where guest's buggies have ripped off the price holder.

I agree with you about the space problem. I encounter the same problem in the men's department at my local JCPenney's. It's not that bad if you're by yourself, but with more than one person, it can get quite annoying manuevering around. Nice letter!

I think it's a reasonable request. Although I usually put my daughter in a front-pack or sling carrier (she hates being in the stroller!), I'll still bring the stroller to the mall 1)to hold my stuff, 2)to put my daughter if I eat something hot at the food court or if I need to try on clothes. My son is now three and won't ride in it unless he's tired, but the only stroller I have is a front-to-back double. I see people with double wides and think "They aren't getting any shopping done with that thing!"
Well, anyway, getting off track...JC Penneys is certainly one of the guilty parties with these aisles that you can't push a stroller through. I have found myself knocking clothes off the rack with my daughter, and that's when she's strapped to my chest! And I never want to leave my stroller with all my stuff in it out of arm's reach, it's like leaving your shopping cart with your purse in it.
I hope they make some changes, and some other stores need to as well!!

Btw, you need to try harder. That one didn't annoy me (it was pointless, but not annoying) but it wasn't funny, either. You can do better than this, Venice. Go for the gold!

A well thought out and reasonable complaint, and you even stick up for the employees!
Speaking as someone who has had to endure warm conditions while working in the past...thank you.
Hope they respond.

You may want to ask them why they are violating the Americans with Disabilities Act's Standards of Accessible Design...fixtures need to be 36 inches apart, enough for a wheelchair to get through. If a standard sized stroller can't get through, than neither can a person in a wheelchair. They are violating the law. Sometimes, yeah, it is tough to maintain a three foot distance, but if it is a constant problem at Penny's then they need to fix it.
At my Sears, we are pretty good at keep things well spaced, even though in the clearance section, things can get a little tight. Whenever we put new fixtures on the floor, we check to make sure it's three feet from another fixture.
So, I dunno...casually ask a manager why they aren't complying with the Act and see what they say.

This is a great suggestion and it's apparent you aren't alone with these problems.
Many times they turn on too many display lights and it heats up the place. Even the dressing rooms are overlit and hot sometimes, which you don't mind in winter but other times of the year it's terrible.

I find that this is true of all JCP's stores I've been in in the last 20 years. The racks are overcrowded (jam packed many times), the racks are too close together, etc. They're simply trying to get as much merchandise onto the floor as possible.
But I agree with you: It makes for frustrating shopping.
