Thoughtful Server at Ruby Tuesday

Write a Letter to this Company

Today I had lunch with my husband and son in your establishment. We always frequent your Kingstowne location in Alexandria, Virginia, and today was no different. The service is always good, but today, I can only describe our server as amazing. We were in around 1:00 in the afternoon, and my receipt says our server's name was Robert. He was an older man with long gray hair. I would like to share my experience with you.

It was a lot of little things, really.

1.After I had ordered the veggie burger, minus the mayo and cheese, he informed me that the actual burger patty contained cheese. I have ordered this burger dozens of times and had no clue it contained cheese. I try to eat as little dairy as possible, so I was very thankful that he gave me that information.

2. He delivered my son's shrimp plate quickly. He let me know that the sauce the shrimp comes with has a kick to it and might be too spicy. My son has had the shrimp before, and it is indeed too spicy for him. I can remember being surprised the first time we tried the sauce. I thought it was too spicy for a kids plate. I think it is very thoughtful of Robert to let parents know how spicy that sauce is.

3. After getting our salads from the salad bar, Robert came over to ask if everything that we wanted was available at the salad bar. Sometimes there are things missing, like mushrooms or olives. Things that I could live without but would really like to have on my salad. I never want to bother anyone with something so trivial, so I thought it was very nice of Robert to make sure we were satisfied.

Those were the things that stuck out the most. Aside from that, our drinks were never empty and Robert was never far. I am a slow eater, and often servers just take my husbands plate when he is done, leaving me feeling rushed. The way he asked if we wanted anything cleared from the table was tactful and appreciated.

Good servers will keep diners coming back to your establishment, but servers like Robert will have diners raving to their friends and associates. I know I will. I hope you will acknowledge him for making our experience, and I am sure many other patrons, so wonderful. I believe he is an asset to your company.

On a separate note, please think about making a completely vegan burger. More and more people are switching to vegan diets, and a vegan burger would be much appreciated. Thank you for reading my letter.

What a nice letter. It's good to see employees like Robert who make
our dining/shopping experiences a little more pleasant receive credit
where credit is due. I wish I lived close enough to eat at this RT!

Sio L.,

Nice job catching Robert doing many things right.

Feedback is extremely important and I am sure they will appreciate
it.

On the chance that your letter or eMail does not make it from
corporate to store level I might suggest you shoot a copy to the Store
Manager asking that it be shared with Robert.

Again, nice job.

That's better!.. haha

I'll say it again:

Robert is a perfect example of someone who cares about his job and
takes pride in what he does. He would perform the same regardless of
where he worked, what he was paid and how many hours he was on his
feet. He does it because it's who he is.

Very nice letter, and I hope Robert gets to see it. I know he'll
appreciate the acknowledgment.
