CVS is the Best!

Couple weeks ago, I went to CVS pharmacy on Colonial/SR 82 in Fort Myers , Florida to pick up my prescription. The pharmacist , Dr Asmaa Bazzi, came from behind the counter to counsel, and share info about my medication. She smiled and asked me if I am planning to go to Africa. I said Africa ? No, and laughed. She explained to me that she is asking because of the type of medication prescribed, Chloroquine, which is normally prescribed, to prevent or treat malaria, when you visit certain areas. I told her, that I am a kidney transplant patient, my physician said my potassium was low, and was expecting a potassium pill.

The pharmacist, not only seemed concerned, but called my physician office to double check. One hour later, she called me back home, and informed me that a prescribing error had happened, and the prescription is to be filled for KlorCon M20, which is a potassium.

Dr Bazzi was so concerned about my health, she thanked God for catching that error, and explained to me that they have this program at CVS , where they counsel all new to therapy patients on their medication, and that this is what differentiates CVS from other drug companies. I cannot in any way express my appreciation to Dr Bazzi, and to CVS , for that program of counseling, that saved my life. I have never seen customer care like this before, and Dr Bazzi, and CVS must be congratulated.

Since that time, I feel a strong emotional connection with Dr Bazzi, I call the pharmacy, and ask about her by name. When she knows it is me, she asks kidding "no trip to Africa?", and she puts a smile on my face. I will never go anywhere else, and will recommend my friends to go to that store. Employees like Dr Bazzi, are hard to find, and it is always a joy to be under their care !

We definitely need more pharmacists like this. Glad you acknowledged
her wonderful work, and it's nice to know this about CVS too.

Way to go Dr. Bazzi!

This is such a great letter... If it were me, I'd print out a copy and
stick it in a 'thank you' card and give it to her.

This is a wonderful story.

I'm really glad that you had a pharmacist good enough to spot the
problem that day, and I'm really glad that she had a customer good
enough to tell the company about her excellent service.

This is a great story about a great pharmacist. From my 12 years of
experience in drug stores I've discovered that when it comes to
pharmacists it isn't so much the chain they work for but who they are
as a person. No chain will turn an uncaring, incompetent pharmacist
into one who is caring and competent. At the store I'm in right now I
see the extremes of both sides when it comes to our staff of 4.
