Verizon STILL doesn't care about their own family!

After first posting here on Planet Feedback I did get a call from Verizon Wireless Executive Complaints department. However, the call was more or less the rep just going on and on about my account and that they are going to continue to report it. Nevermind that it was paid, and we owe Verizon nothing, it is more important that they trash us on our credit history for as long as possible. Also nevermind that obviously part of the problem was originally billing issues back and forth, as he did admit that they credited things and that various deposits and such were toyed with, it is what it is and Verizon does not care. Also I found it interesting that he insisted that Verizon sent payment notices etc to my current address when I did not even live there back when the account in question was active. I told him that I never received anything from them, but he inferred that I must have ignored the notices. Gee, you sent notices to an address I did not even live at yet, and I didn't get them, isn't that amazing???? How is that even possible???? He had no answer other than they did their due diligence to notify me of a past due balance. Really, how is it possible that you use an address that had no connection to my account ever? Just this very fact shows there are flaws in the way the account was handled and that I was not properly notified that it was headed for collections. Once I found out there was a remaining balance I paid it in full, little did i know that in the electronic credit bureau hallways they were busy dirtying me up.

I still see no reason for Verizon to continue to drag us through the mud. The account is paid in full, they are out NO money at all. They don't care that there are any descrepancies apparently, its only remains important to make us look bad. As i said my wife has been a Verizon employee for over 12 years, and I truly now have to question allowing her to continue to work for a company that is vengeful against its customers, and in this case especially when te customer is one of Verizon's own family.

At least from what I can tell from the limited details of your
situation...

I had a DSL & landline account with them for a year, and then I closed
both of them and got one bill marked 'final bill' afterwards. About 2
months later, I got a notice from a collection agency about some
amount that I had supposedly owed Verizon and was past due...took some
digging to figure out that there was a second bill that was supposed
to have been sent, but wasn't, in between the time I got the 'final
bill' and the collections notice.

Funnily enough the missing bill doesn't have a due date, and the time
between the day I estimate I would have received the bill and the day
the collections agency probably received the account info is maybe
30-35 days...it's almost like they didn't expect me to be paying it
anyway and didn't want to bother with the pretense of waiting for
payment.

I got Verizon to credit my account for the amount, but damned if I can
get either Verizon or the collection agency to remove the collections
reference from my credit report. I hate to sound like a conspiracy
theorist but it really does seem like they single out customers they
don't like to punish with 7 years of bad credit...I've heard of
numerous other people having problems with Verizon credit report
issues.

instead of a long letter with anything BUT details? And possibly leave
out the fact that your wife works for the company? It has zero (0)
bearing on this problem. You did wait until the end to mention it
this time, but you still couldn't resist adding it. You chose an
extremely odd way to do it I might add, with this reference to
"allowing" your wife to work at VZ. I think it galls you that she
does, and I would try my best to ignore it if I were you.

You know, something informative would help, such as "Vz says they sent
a bill for $xx.yy for the reason [reason] on xx/yy/zz, but it was
never received." "VZ sent my account to collections on xx/yy/zz, and
I paid it on xx/yy/zz. I'd like them to remove this mark from my
credit." I would concentrate on the obvious - you've paid it now and
there should be no amount due.

Instead there is are these allegations they are enjoying watching you
twist in the wind, threats to have your wife quit, yada yada. It
doesn't help solve the problem, or give the reader at VZ anything to
work with.

The word is imply, not infer.

You seem hung up on thinking VZ is getting a charge out of pursuing
this beyond payment. If you get beyond that, maybe you can
concentrate on the details and get this resolved.

While it can't change the facts, I'm kind of curious why your wife
didn't keep tabs on your own accounts since she worked there.

You really do need documentation to fight this. And you're only going
to get it from Verizon. Can't you wife get it?

One way you can prove exactly what happened, and when, is to ask for
bill copies. When I worked at Verizon Wireless (Left in May 05) we
could go back two years for copies. NOTE: Expect a charge for this,
but it may be worth it)

As "allowing" your wife to continue, if you pulled that nonsense with
me, I would have to reconsider "allowing" you to be my husband.

Another note, whether someone works for the company has zero bearing
on how things are handled. Treating past due employee accounts
differently can get you in all kinds of hot water legally.

know we still had the option of dictating where our women work! If I
tried that with my GF, I woold be wearing a lady's size 5 in my rear
end.
