poor quality of food

My wife and I decided that since Pizza Hut has put so much effort into telling the public about the pasta on the menu, we should give it a try. We also figured that since we were being adventurous, we should also try the P'Zone and the Hershey's Chocolate Dunkers. I wish I could say something nice about any of those items, sadly I cannot. The pasta (meaty marinara) tasted, for lack of a better term, like cafeteria food. Not only was there a serious lack of flavor, but the pasta (I'm guessing that it is rotini noodles) was WAY over cooked. The P'Zone tasted like string cheese was used instead of actual mozzarella. The Hershey's Chocolate Dunkers were just Cinnamon Sticks with chocolate sprinkled over the top. Maybe I should not have had such high expectations for my order, but I at least expected something that would stand up to Pizza Hut's high standards of quality. To sum up my complaint, the food was just plain awful.

It seems that as the menu expands the quality of food decreases. This latest experience has made me and my wife skeptical of trying anything new at Pizza Hut. I would much prefer a smaller menu with the reliability of a quality product.

That's where you went wrong. Expecting high quality from Pizza Hut.

I can't speak for where you are but I've tried the Alfredo Pasta with
chicken here in Phoenix and I liked it a lot. Much better than a lot
of restaurants I've been to.

i would think this would vary greatly depending on where you live.
for example, in springfield missouri, where i live, pizza hut pizza is
awesome. however, when we visit memphis, it's awful. i think it's
simply a case of better cooks at the springfield location. by the
way, please tell me that you spoke with the manager and didn't just
slink away and write this letter without giving them a chance to
rectify the situation.

I never thought I'd see the words "Pizza Hut" and "high standards of
quality" in the same sentence.

I would recommend avoiding the chains if you want quality.

I have seen the ads for the pasta. But I don't think that we have
those pasta's here in Canada yet. I once tried the p'zone, well, I
looked at it. It was dripping grease when I went to eat it, so it was
disgusting. Good luck with the Hut.

I don't know. If I'm going to order fast Italian, I wouldn't choose
Pizza Hut. Even for pizza, I like to find the smaller operations in
town that also offer pasta dishes. Pizza Hut should stick to pizza and
let the little mom and pop places add the pasta to their menus.

I wasn't going to try those new selections, and the reason is exactly
as you stated...poor quality.

The Pasta I had from them last night was unbelievably good(chicken
alfredo) right up with Olive Garden quality. However, my husband and
I BOTH have a bad case of the runs since eating this last night.

It tastes good, just doesn't FEEL good coming out!

P'zones are awesome, I'm guessing it depends on the chain you
frequent, because one Pzone from one Pizza hut always tastes different
than another's.

I dunno about the hershey dips or whatever, but as I said, aside from
the yummy but possibly diarrhea inducing pasta, It may be that you got
a bad batch.

Me and my buddy went there for lunch buffet awhile back and we just
had to try this weird peanut butter and jelly pizza thing they had
out. It was actually so good that we didn't eat any other kind of
pizza but we were both pretty much glued to the toilet for the rest of
the day. Not recommended!

Their pasta is frozen so it tastes very overcooked by the time the
customer gets it.
And the Hershey dunkers...well I would rather have Cinnamon Sticks
without the chocolate.

I too like their main menu of items...personal pan pizza is one of my
favorites.

I definitely stick to the basics with Pizza Hut. Never been
disappointed with their standard pizzas, but the pasta tastes like it
came out of a can and the Pizza Mia is the worst. Not worth the lousy
$5.

This food sounds gross.
If you have not done so already, call the store manager and let them
know about this and politely request a refund. I think you are
entitled to one if you are not satisfied with the food.

I have to agree, their new pasta is not good at all. We ordered both
kinds when they first came out and were not impressed.

My friend's college age son and his friends scarfed it down, though,
claiming it was great. Go figure.

I've noticed over the past couple of years that Pizza Hut's quality
(such as it was) has taken a serious nose dive. I was using Papa
John's, but moved to an area that didn't get serviced by them, and
tried Pizza Hut again. Got two stone cold pizza's about 1 1/2 hours
after I ordered. I didn't even bother to call them about it. I just
made the choice with my wallet. I've started ordering from the
independent guys locally and have been pretty impressed.

We haven't tried them but I heard from friends that it's awful. (the
pasta). I don't think it's worth the very MANY calories.

What you describe sounds like exactly what I would have expected from
a low-cost nationwide pizza chain, which is why I was never tempted to
try their pasta. And I just discovered this weekend that the Pizza
Hut about 1/2 mile from my house has closed. No surprise there.

Our Pizza Hut closed, so I haven't had a chance to try any of these
new items. Pizza Hut does have a history of always coming up with new
ideas. Some are short lived while others become best sellers. So
feedback like this is a good idea. If you like the reliability of a
quality product, stick with the old standbys and pass on the
experimental items.

I am curious though.. what's the difference in string cheese and
mozzarella? I always thought they were the same thing.
