McDonald's Gay Agenda

Posted Tue July 29, 2008 12:00 pm, by JERRY M. written to McDonald's

Write a Letter to this Company  |  Rate this Company

"April 2, 2008

According to McDonald's CEO Jim Skinner, McDonald's will aggressively promote the homosexual agenda. In remarks on McDonald's Web site concerning the company becoming a member of the National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC), Skinner wrote: "Being a socially responsible organization is a fundamental part of who we are. We have an obligation to use our size and resources to make a difference in the world ... and we do."

McDonalds is openly supporting gay/lesbian groups. McDonalds steadfastly supports and donates to it. As a shareholder, I am outraged that you take this position upon yourself. I think it's safe to say that the vast majority if shareholders oppose this, yet you override them. Why? Is this a personal agenda? If so, what gives you the right when this is a publicly traded company? Personally, I think this is the tome to sell my McDonalds holdings and add to my positions in Jack in the Box.

Personally, I don't think no one should have to cater to the gays. If
a person decides they wants to be gay that is the personal business
"don't ask, don't tell" I like that policy. The world has gone nuts.

Where are all these statements posted? The statement on the NGLCC
website does not state they have a position on sexual orientation. All
they did was donate money to a non-profit. If they donate to the NAACP
do they now have a "black agenda"?

by Ricki S. Posted Tue September 23, 2008 @ 11:30 PM

I think it's a great idea for McDonalds to openly support gays and
lesbians. I fully support people of all sexual orientations and I
believe that the "gay/lesbian" label should be dropped permanently. We
do not go around calling people "straight" so why should we call them
"gay"? For you to be opposed to McDonalds for this very reason is
actually quite disgusting. Accept your fellow men and women as people
and quit labeling them due to their sexual orientation. This
gay/lesbian opposition is a new form of discrimination that has been
adopted and needs to be put to an end. I hope you do not teach your
children this hate you have. God loves everyone equally- remember

Wow Jerry, way to make friends on PF. I am a lesbian, recently married
but for your sake, I should probably use the term "civil union" so not
to take away from the sanctuary term. Personally, I could care less
who McDonalds does or doesn't support, if I like other stuff about
them, I am not going to walk away. I will say; however, it is 2008, so
in case you have not realized, there are gay people out there and you
won't catch the gayness by sipping an iced coffee and eating overly
salted fries. I gotta ask though, Jack in the Box? Really? Maybe it
should be Jack in the Closet? I don't know, but wanted to put it out
there, as their spokesmodel comes across more homo (i mean it in the
most endearing way of course) than Ronald McDonald.

Once again, let me clarify. I have nothing against gays. I personally
don't necessarily think being gay is a choice, but something one may
be born to. I think gays can be good parents - better sometimes than
straight alcoholics or abusers. (Oh boy, now I offended THEM.) I'm
not saying that most gays are not good people. But, some of those proud
freaks in the parade are offensive. One doesn't dare say anything
these days or some group will be offended and put all kinds of twists
on it) Look, lead any lifestyle you choose. But, don't rub my nose in
it. If you are a decent person, the world will respond one on one. I
DO NOT agree that a public corporation should strongly support ANY
certain group or agenda. Equal rights? Sure.

The shareholders only care about whether or not Mcdonals is making

Lol "aggressively pursue the gay agenda." That doesn't sound like the
way someone who is in favor of equal rights for all human beings would
put it.

Are you sure you are not getting some paraphrased wording handed down
from an AM talk radio "hate jock?"

Hopefully more companies will realize that discriminating against
customers and workers who are different from the norm in various ways
is bad business.

Lots of people are still uncomfortable with homosexuality. The
current strategy of these folks seems to be to cite their religious
beliefs as an excuse. I guess they are taking a page from the liberal
books by making a case that their right to religious freedom is at
risk here because they are being made to sanction a lifestyle they
find sinful.

Well this is illogical because in no way does being civil and non
judgemental "endorse" a person's lifestyle. We all interact with and
provide services to people every day who make personal choices we
would not be comfortable with because of our culture, beliefs and

Ultimately we give most people the right to make choices that are
"between them and their god(s)" while we continue to rent apartments
to them, sell to them, provide them with insurance, employ them etc.
and mostly mind out own business. Yet gays/lesbians are singled out
as somehow being the one group where following this "live and let
live" practice is a violation of one's religious beliefs.

It wouldn't have to be an agenda if is was socially accepted and they
are taking a step to help it become accepted. I always find things
like this funny because we can take time to gripe over things like
this but, it's the same everywhere you have a government for the
people by the people but yet your president can decide to go to war
with everyone telling him no.

You don't like gay people understandable but you can't speak for
the shareholder you have no idea maybe more then 50% of there
shareholders are homosexual, maybe they are heterosexual and maybe 90%
of the shareholders are gay or accept homosexuality. Deal with it get
over it. Nobodies beliefs are the same.

I know without doubt that you do not speak for this McDonald's
shareholder, since I have no problem with McDonald's being
compassionate, humanitarian, empathetic, socially aware and socially
responsible. I'm not gay, but I believe in "live and let live" and
letting people be who they want to be. McDonald's has embraced this
philosophy as well.

You are who you are, too. If McDonald's policy bothers you, sell your
shares. I hope this will make you feel better. What I really hope is
that at some point people will be more tolerant of things they do not

A gay couple lives down the street from my husband, daughter and I.
They are our best neighbors. They take excellent care of their home,
they are always well dressed, they hold positions of authority in the
companies for which they work (one is a Manager, the other the Vice
President of Finance and Administration), are financial responsible
with their money and are extremely tolerant of straight people. We've
known them for 10 years and they haven't once said one word or talked
to us about their sexual orientation.

As far as I can tell, being gay isn't a religion. Gays aren't working
to try to convert straight people over to becoming gay. Personally, I
think McDonald' is simply embracing altruism.

As to the whole concept of the "destruction of the family" nonsense:

1) Are you seriously suggesting there aren't enough children in the
world? When will you be happy with the population size -- when we
have no trees, oceans, grass, and ducks, and only have buildings full
of folks?

2) Are you seriously suggesting that the "family" would be just fine
if the gay folks went away? Are the gay members of society forcing
the 16 year old kids to have children? Are the gay folks somehow
forcing their straight friends to go out and have extra-marital
relationships? Are the gay folks somehow responsible for the fact
that the straight world can't keep more than 1/2 of its marriages even
arguably stable? Exactly how have the homosexuals destroyed your

Or maybe the gays are destroying the family by quoting things that
were never said in order to defame someone. Oh, wait. That's you.

Here's a rather novel idea. Rather than spend your time trying to
eliminate homosexuals in the universe, why don't you spend some time
feeding the hungry, caring for the sick, helping the homeless, and
educating the children. Maybe if all of the straight folks did that
instead of focusing on getting more money so that they could buy
bigger houses and boats, Ralph Lauren shirts and Michael Jordan shoes,

investments going to support someone lifestyle. If others want to
support them theres ways to do it with their money not yours.

by Alexandra Posted Tue July 29, 2008 @ 11:42 PM

I don't plan on patronizing them in the future either, if they keep on
promoting perversion.

McDonald's and other places should remain neutral if anything.

They are not being "socially responsible." Quite the opposite.

I am SO sick and tired of this "tolerance" crap being foisted on us.
Tolerance is not always a good thing.

McDonald's response to American Family Association:
"All references to comments from Jim Skinner, McDonald's CEO in the
Action Alert Newsletter are complete fabrications."

AFA's comment on McDonald's response:
"Our Action Alert assumed that Mr. Skinner's comments were
specifically addressing the promotion of the gay agenda, when they
were not. We apologize for any confusion this has caused."

It sounds like the OP remains confused months later.

Alright, people, I'll be willing to admit when I'm wrong. There is a
gay agenda, and I have found it. Yes, I've posted it on PFB once
before and I pray this will be the last time. Now, from their sinful
ballpoint pens to your eyes, the Homosexual Agenda.

6:00 am Gym
8:00 am Breakfast (oatmeal and egg whites)
9:00 am Hair appointment
10:00 am Shopping
12:00 PM Brunch

2:00 PM 1) Assume complete control of the U.S. Federal, State and
Local Governments as well as all other national governments.
2) Recruit all straight youngsters to our debauched lifestyle.
3) Destroy all healthy heterosexual marriages.
4) Replace all school counselors in grades K-12 with agents of
Colombian and Jamaican drug cartels.
5) Establish planetary chain of "homo breeding gulags" where
over-medicated imprisoned straight women are turned into artificially
impregnated baby factories to produce prepubescent love slaves for our
devotedly pederastic gay leadership.
6) bulldoze all houses of worship.
7) Secure total control of the INTERNET and all mass media for the
exclusive use of child pornographers.

2:30 PM Get forty winks of beauty rest to prevent facial wrinkles from
stress of world conquest
4:00 PM Cocktails
6:00 PM Light Dinner (soup, salad, with Chardonnay) 8:00 PM Theater
11:00 PM Bed

The infamous "gay agenda." Can someone please tell me what the "gay
agenda" is? Far as I can tell from the gay couple that lives in my
neighborhood, their agenda is to go to work at their professional jobs
everyday, raise their kids, keep up their home, and pretty much do all
the stuff that my husband and I do.

Good for Mr. Skinner. Someone has to support that agenda actively.
Who is going to do it? Me? YOU?

You should concentrate your efforts on opening your mind before it
completely collapses on itself.

74.8% of shareholders in McD's are INSTITUTIONS. Do you think they
would leave their money there if they agreed with your narrow view?
Go ahead and buy Jack in the Box. In the past year, McDonald's stock
is up 25% and Jack in the Box is down 35%. Thus an investor did 60%
better if they invested in McD's a year ago.

Now I have seen everything.

Oh my good Lord....

Whether or not you hold shares of McDonalds, and whether or not you
choose to eat their hamburgers, there will still be gay people in the
world. It's very unfortunate that you have nothing better to do with
your time than complain about people who don't affect you...

Even though I may not be a lesbian or gay, I do applaud McDonalds, in
there support of Gay & Lesbian rights. I may not live my life as they
do, but I respect them, for fighting for what they believe in and for
who and what they love. I beleive in giving respect in order to
receive it. I have many gay friends, and they are NO different than
you or I and should be treated no differently. If you don't like it,
oh well, take your business elsewhere. I don't think McDonalds will
will lose any sleep over it.

all mcdonald's is doing is treating everyone fairly. i pray that the
day will come when discriminating against someone because of their
sexual preference will be as taboo as discriminating against someone
because of their color or gender. it's people like you who make me
ashamed to share the same planet with you.

What to say that hasn't already been said? The only agenda is to live
in a world without artificial boundaries created by people like you
who are afraid anything that is different.

by Blackrack Posted Tue July 29, 2008 @ 8:38 PM

If I didn't already live in Canada, I'd move here.

Since when has the motto "treat every living person with the respect
they deserve" meant "because we respect this group of people, we hate
everyone else"?

Is it safe to say the majority of stockholders oppose this? Have you
been talking to them lately?

The gays don't have an agenda. I've looked all over the house for it,
it's not here. My dad can't even keep his day planner up to date.

I don't frequent Mcdonalds often but tend to go when they have charity
events. They have done amazingly well in supporting their Ronald
Mcdonald houses( I bet you can stomach that one). I think I will
purchase some "holdings" in support of their diverse concerns.

Would this letter have been printed if you replaced the words "gay,"
"lesbian" and "homosexual" with words such as "Hispanic," "black," or

If not, then I think this letter has no business on this site.

by RedheadwGlasses Posted Tue July 29, 2008 @ 7:49 PM

Tsk tsk.

I assure you that you are in the minority. What are you afraid of?
Are you really so insecure that how other people live their lives
threatens you? I'm straight, but I am more offended by YOU than by
any gays or lesbians.

Remember: Someone you love (niece, son, uncle, sister?) is gay or
lesbian. They just haven't told you because you've made your ugly
bigotry so very clear.

I pity you and others like you.

Angela, a proud ally of the GLBT community

P.S. The gay agenda is pretty much the same as YOUR agenda: Wake up
in the morning, raise kids, go to work, get groceries, spend time with
family and friends, grow old, retire, die with loved ones holding
their hands.

Somehow, I don't think that you can speak for the majority of the
stockholders. Please attribute your hate speech to yourself and don't
assume you speak for anyone else.

And Jack In The Box, huh?

Please take note of this from their manual...

Equal Employment
It is unlawful or against Jack in the Box
policy to discriminate in the employment
of any person on account of characteristics
such as race, color, religion, sex,
pregnancy, national origin, ancestry, age,
marital status, disability, veterans' status
or SEXUAL ORIENTATION. The same rule
applies in matters of promotions and discipline.
If you have any concern or doubt
as to whether a particular action might be
in violation of equal employment opportunity
laws, call Jack's Ethics Helpline.
