Well usually those comercials are only on more adult channels. Like you said you saw it on the internet, you can see all kinds of stuff and you can't help it. It's a comercial that's funny. Their trying to get more people to buy their product. How about you don't let your kid watch the comercial. Theres nothing you can do now except start a one person boycott!

You're complaining about a sexy cookie while admittedly watching a channel with all those NAKED ANIMALS on it??? Shame on you!! (Sometimes they show animals /mating/ that /aren't even married/!!)
(In other words, lighten up. And make sure your kids are never exposed to any lite rock radio stations, either, because that song is a staple. Keep them in plastic bubbles with instrumental hymns blocking all outside noise.)

I finally saw this ad this morning. Absolutely hilarious! I have zero clue what you find anti-family about it.

hahahahahahaha.... this is a joke, right? Greg, you must be one of those overprotective, uber-religious parents, right? Your kids are home schooled, and they're not allowed to go to any movie that's not a "G" rating, and they're only allowed to watch PBS and Animal Planet, right? Do you really think Nabisco was saying "Hey! Let's put that song in our next cookie commercial so that it will make little kids think about sex all the time when they see it!"??? If so, maybe you and your family need a tiny dose of reality.
I brought your letter to my Moms group, and one of the Moms snorted so much laughing that pop went out her nose. Most of us thought this was a joke letter. As Mom of 4 girls, I think this is a tame commercial, not offensive in any way, and if this REALLY offends you, I'm wondering how big your coronary was when you saw the Carl's Jr. commercial with Paris Hilton seductively eating a hamburger on the hood of a car- I believe she had a wet t-shirt on,too-OMG!!! Maybe if you are truly this sensitive....you shouldn't be watching tv at all??? Just a thought.

It's a joke. They aren't trying to sell sex or make cookies look "sexy". They've done numerous commercials featuring their cookies singing old hits. This is just another one and is meant to be fun.

I watched this commercial finally and did not find it offensive at all. There are a lot worse commercials on TV nowadays. How is this commercial anti-family? It is trying to get people to buy cookies, not marry them.
Some people read to much into commercials or are to easily offended.

I do find a dancing cookie moderately sexy. This does not put me off Chips Ahoy, it makes me want to crank up the raspy sounds of Rod the Bod and dance around while I indulge in tasty Chips Ahoy cookies.
Get over it. I doubt your children thought anything of it. Did they ask you crying, "why is that cookie 'sexy' mommy?"

There will be 20 more sexy songs out there waiting to be used in commercials because it draws attention. I mean this one drew yours didn't it?
I would think you would want to explain that there are things that you feel are not appropriate for them to view or hear and then teach them how to ignore it or tune it out.
Its your right to ask the company to not use this commercial but others have just as much right to view it if they like it.

If your kids are THAT affected by TV, you are doing something wrong.
Somehow, I don't chase roadrunners, order crazy products from Acme, and get myself blown up. Yet, I watched Roadrunner cartoons daily as a child.
Stop whining, stop parenting, let the rest of us enjoy our normal lives.

way to stifle creativity!
Do you think your kids are going to go out and be prostitutes or perverts because an animated cookie is singing a 30 year old pop song? are you insane?

I don't understand how a cookie can have a mouth and a face and sing Rod Stewart songs. I also don't understand why, as a living and singing cookie, he's attempting to seduce a normal human female instead of one of his own kind. Furthermore, I don't understand why the lady is the same size as he is, but yet the cookie is grabbed from the sky by a giant human hand, presumably to be eaten alive. Is the woman only cookie-sized, or is the cookie human-sized and was pulled up into the heavens by the hand of an angry, vengeful, hungry god?
But despite not understanding pretty much anything about the commercial, you don't see me running around and complaining about it, now do you?

It's a COOKIE commercial. When I was a kid, I ran around the house with a play bridal veil rockin' Like A Virgin, and I'm okay now at 28.

Sorry, this commercial has been on the air for nearly 6 months and you're just complaining about it now? Why wait so long? Why not say something the moment you saw it?
As I see it, if you don't like it, change the channel or turn off the TV.

I'm sorry, I can't help but laugh at this letter. There are worse things that kids can be exposed to other than a "Sexy cookie" commercial.

I just watched the commerciel and it was pretty stupid and kind of eww that the cookie was singing those lyrics but offensive no, just dumb.
If you really want to see how children are not as aware of offensive content then just watch Grease.
When I was little we watched it all the time, I loved singing along.
Then I got older and watched the part with the song Greased Lightning and OMG.
Some lines from the song:
"You know that ain't no shit we'll be getting lots of tit"
"You are supreme the chicks'll cream for grease lightning"
"You know that I ain't bragging she's a real pussy wagon"

This commercial doesn't sound offensive to me -- merely insipid and lame and uninspired. Par for the course for 99% of the commercials out there.

Instead of freaking out, why not explain to your kids in a calm, rational way why you feel this is inappropriate in your eyes? You are raising them to overreact and be hysterical over something just because it's disagreeable to you. Instead of teaching them to turn away from anything that might not be pleasant and happy, teach them to deal. Way to raise open minded kids.

I don't find the ad sexy, offensive, anti-family, or anything like that, but I do think it's unfortunate that Greg is being chastised for being "narrow minded" because he does find the commercial offensive. Doesn't he have the right to decide what offends him, or does the 1st amendment only apply to the more liberal viewpoint?

If the only thing you have to worry about in regard to your kids is their exposure to a 30 year old song that's already on the radio 20 times a day, I'd say you're doing pretty good.

I guess we're a bad American family, because my husband goes around singing that song, in the voice of the dad from "So I Married an Axe Murderer."
My kids think it's funny.
I want to see this commerical now.

Does everyone remember the Diet Pepsi commercial from about 10 years ago or so? I haven't seen this commericial and it's probably not as fun as the Diet Pepsi commericial (Rod Stewart vs. construction guy with no t-shirt...you do the math) but if it gets anal, narrow minded people like this all het up, it's probably worth the money they spent. :)

Were you equally offended by the thought of your children running around singing that song? It isn't much different, is it?
You can turn off the tv if you want to shield your children from society.
Is it possible you have a problem with Rod Stewart's singing? I know I do.

But.. but.. but.. it's Rod Stewart!
That song has been around forever and has been heard by millions of kids. I seriously doubt that it has harmed any of them.
Anti-family?.. I hate to break it to you, but without sex there'd be a lot less families.
