Taco Bell Employee Urinated on a Dumpster!

My daughter just arrived home from a night out with her friends, and they stopped at the Taco Bell in McHenry Illinois for a bite to eat beforehand. She walked in the door in absolute disgust because upon leaving the restaraunt, as they were sitting in the car preparing to leave, they witnessed an employee taking the garbage out. This was not the problem, garbage has to go out. The problem was, after the young man took loaded the trash into the dumpster, he proceeded to unzip his pants and urinate on the dumpster, well aware that the kids were in the car. After this, as if THIS isn't bad enough, he took something out of a white cloth and, at that point, all the kids could see was the glow from a lighter. It could have been a cigarette and it very well could have been a crack pipe. Who knows, the Taco Bell in McHenry has a reputation as a place where there are quite a few drugs to be found, so it wouldn't surprise me a bit. There is no excuse for this, and while I'm angry as a person, I'm saddened as a parent. Not only for my child, but for the Taco Bell employee who very obviously has a problem. I did try to call the store three times, but no one answered and had to resort to calling the 800 number to report this problem. I'm absolutely disgusted with what happened tonight, and hope that this complaint is taken seriously. Not only is this terrible for business, but there are childrens lives and futures at stake.
The only thing that I'm asking from you is to PLEASE contact the store manager regarding this incident. Sadly, I was not able to get through and I would have liked to point this disgusting and lude act out as soon as it happened so that there may have been a better chance of this employee being disciplined. Also, PLEASE make sure to perform regular, random drug tests on employees. I'm sure that your company has a zero tolerance policy on drugs, as do many others, but if you're not willing to check regularly, no one will take you seriously. Sadly, that's just the way the world works these days, and I'm aware that drug testing costs money, but isn't it worth it? By tomorrow, four different families will know about what happened. By Monday, my entire office will know what happened. This was a truly disgusting experience and I suggest strongly that you re-educate your employees. This was not an acceptable thing to see and you can bet that you'll be losing several customers.

"Not only is this terrible for business, but there are childrens lives and futures at stake. "
I think you should turn that comma into a period and leave off the clause at the end. I really doubt the high drama is neccessary as everyone here can agree that you have every right and should complain about this disgusting occurance at Taco Bell.
That said, I would add "I will be telling everyone I know about this incident. My family and I will never return to your location." I think those words are more important than saying your children's lives and futures are at stake.

Gross. I'll bet he didn't bother to wash his hands after going inside, either. While urinating in public doesn't make you a sex offender, it is still a ticketable offense, plus it's pretty disgusting. I don't think the police could have done anything unless they had seen him in the act, but it's probably good advice to call them if you or your daughter are unfortunate enough to witness something like this again.

Were the police called? Technically, that man is a sex offender for urinating in public, you know. Then again, if Taco Bell fires him, he can always work at McDonalds!

LMAO, I'm sorry that is not a helpful response. But where I come from (DC area) I see all kinds of stuff like that, and after 30yrs of it all I can do is laugh, to keep from going insane.

Did you call the police? I think that employee needs to be locked up and that Taco Bell needs a visit from the Health Department and the police department.

If this location is as notorious as you claim, what, exactly, was your daughter doing there?
If I were you, I wouldn't be telling ANYONE this story - it's only going to reflect poorly on you.

Yes, by Monday many people in your office will know that your daughter and her friends frequent a place that is a known place for drugs.
"...the Taco Bell in McHenry has a reputation as a place where there are quite a few drugs to be found, so it wouldn't surprise me a bit"?
If the drugs are not keeping your daughter and her friends from going there what makes you think someone peeing in the garbage will.
It sounds like this Taco Bell may need to be closed down to get rid of the problems they have there.
So instead of just writing this letter why don't you start a campaign and bring this to the attention of the police, the mayor and anyone else who will listen.
Now is the time to stop these problems and clean up that restaurant.

Well, the impending problem has been, err, relieved. Totally inappropriate, and I hope the individual is spoken with about it.
However, I don't see why 3/4 of this letter was spent discussing the possibility the employee had a crack pipe, employee drug testing, etc. What if it was just a cigarette?

You did the right thing by reporting both things (the public urination and the possible drug usage. A number of years ago I was sort of in the same situation such as yours except I am an employee of Walgreens and I was visiting another Walgreens (not my home store).
Outside I saw an exchange being done -- something in a rolled up piece of cloth in exchange for $. I immediately called the loss prevention supervisor of the district and he initiated an investigation. After all was "said and done" 3 employees ended up getting fired -- one for the selling and distribution of crack and the other 2 for usage.
What you're doing with your letter is notifying them of a potential drug problem and I applaud you for it.

I agree with Casmly below. The urinating on the dumpster is disgusting and I'm glad you reported it. However, you have no right to accuse the employee of having a crack pipe. You're only reporting second hand what your daughter told you, and even she couldn't see what he was doing (once he finished his "business").
