Write a Letter to this Company
August 27, 2008
Hello... I wrote a letter to Mel Karmazin several weeks ago & am very disappointed, quite frankly, that he did not find the time to respond. In any case, I listen to Siriusly Sinatra in my car & in my office, but am a bit perplexed about the choice of artists I've heard, which was the subject matter of the letter I wrote to Mr. Karmazin. I must ask him again - even more emphatically - that you do NOT play Bob Dylan OR Elton John on this particular station, as neither one of them belongs there!!! I cannot stress enough that it's very frustrating & hope that you take this letter to heart. Thanx for your time & have a lovely day, TERRI SPIEGEL...

Michael Buble is played on that station? I think I just puked in my mouth a little. (I really can't stand that hack.)
Anyway, I agree that Dylan and Elton John are not in the same classification as people like Sinatra--nothing against Mr. Zimmerman (Bob Dylan) or Reginald Dwight (Sir Elton), as I love 'em both, but it's not the same style of music! I love Tony Bennett, Ella Fitzgerald, Sinatra, Perry Como... all of 'em. And if someone wants to listen to the standards and nothing else, I don't see why folk and pop hits from the '60s and '70s should be thrown in.

Sinatra may have been alive and performing in the 70's, but this wasn't his "era." Frank's music is better categorized as being consistent with the post-war 40's and 50's (the emergence of so-called "lounge" music).
I'm a fan of the Rat Pack's music and sometimes listen to this "stream" on Sirius. In particular, I like Gershwin, Porter, and other "standards."
I'm also a fan of Elton John. When I want to hear his music (and music like it), I'll go to the 60's, 70's, or Rewind streams.
I expect to hear them BOTH on the Love and Easy Listening (forget the actual names) streams.
As a Sirius listener, I know what this letter is saying. They like to create these artist-themed streams. There is the Bruce, ABBA, Neil Diamond, Jimmy Buffet, Elvis...
I'm waiting for the Ace of Base only stream.
