Please fix this Problem for the Paying Members

Posted Mon September 22, 2008 12:48 am, by Patricia B. written to America Online

Write a Letter to this Company

I have been a customer for some time now, this is not counting all the past years I was with America Online.

The connection speed is really bad, and it takes forever to get something loaded. I always keep my computer cleaned out and everything so this is not the problem.

I am also aware of the alload deal which also is a problem, it loads up nothing wants to load.

It seems like as through the years that I have seen with my own eyes that there was access numbers which was connecting at 33,000bps now why cant paying members have better and faster numbers?

I would like to have better and faster access numbers. This is really crazy as one cannot get nothing done online and be productive as they need to be.

Why cant AOL bring back faster access numbers for its members?

...Then I suggest that you try using it. It has a faster speed than
dial-up or DSL (which the satellite/phone companies try to compare to
cable, which isn't true). I have been very satisfied with it for the
past six years, and still am. If you don't have Cox, then look up
local area cable internet connections (at least through Google or
ask.com.

My husband wants to move from New Jersey to Wyoming somewhere or
Montana or Nebraska...I was like HELL NO! They only just started to
get dsl out there...everyone still has dial up! I'm not living in the
middle of no where without decent internet!

I used to live in a rural area and had dial up. I remember many times
getting frustrated over pages that would take forever to download. As
was said below, the problem won't be solved until people stop signing
up for it.

P.S. My old neighbor (I live in a city now with high speed
internet!!!) called Embarq about getting DSL and they told him that he
needed to get at least 50 signatures before they would come out. You
need to check out that avenue.

Hi Donno,

Thanks for your reply. But we have checked around even with Direct Tv,
they use Hughes and there is no way we can afford them. So when our
lease is out where we are we are moving inward further where it is
avaiable.

Thanks Much

Patricia, I think you will find the same issue with this as you did
with your requests for high speed internet in your area.

Rural areas are slow, even on dial up. I honestly do not think AOL
will be able to resolve this issue to your satisfaction.

I do wish you luck!

Patricia B.,

I too am an AOL customer through Time Warner Cable which is fast talk
for pay TWC and get no help from AOL.

It sounds like you are talking about dial-up.
Dial-up is old technology and my guess is AOL is trying to get
customers to migrate to cable connections for their computing needs.
Being old technology they probably care not to keep pumping into it
plus they probably lease those lines from phone companies.

Stop back and let us know what action comes from your inquiry.
