I am getting such a kick out of some of these posts. Some made it politics... some made it nickpicking someones opinion. That is all I say on this site... nickpicking anothers opinion. Nickpicking because the posters do not agree with the complaint writer or the posts given. The hypocrisy with this is impossible. I'm all for the people who say to change the channel... it's America. I have read people nitpick the grammer of someone writing to complain that they were served raw chicken... ignoring the fact that the poster was given a very dangerous meal to it. Change the channel, people. Anthony Bordain is usually on at the time of The View... or go outside. It's great out there! Oh, last thing.. the poster was wrong to bring politics into the post... I feel everyone has a right to their opinion and if you are going to be upset because someone differs... change the channel or don't read the post on this web site.

Oh yes Tami, I have to say I'm absolutely mortified that the blah blah on a make believe television show isn't more like the way you want it to be. I think I'm just going to have to boycott that show; and possibly ABC. Won't you join me? Next, I'd like your opinion on some books I think we should burn.

I will have to agree with you they are the most disrespectful bunch of "ladies" if you can call them that,
I have ever seen.. I use to like that show when Star Jones was on it, but now they let them get way out of hand.
They allow to much freedom of speech to that bunch and Barbara should be ashamed of them..They are starting to act like Jerry Springer's people..What happen to women acting lady like..I feel like if your going to be a journalist be one don't try to sway people one way or the other..But I do have to Agree I think it's time for ABC to make some changes and get rid of some of these wannabe's they have gave them to much freedom of speech..
God Bless America and I hope that made someone mad too

Georgians are passing a petition to thousands with a request to remove the VIEW from ABC. Joy is clearly out of control, Barb Walters rude beyond anything I ever thought she could be.
John McCain is a true American hero and the treatment he received on The View was horrible. ABC must carry some responsibility for the manner the McCains were treated.
Please know that Joy is not fit to shine Sarah Palin's shoes and if Joy has ever accomplished anything worthy to our great nation, please let it be known.
Also, please remind her, according to the media, TEN MILLION people are out of a job at this time and she can surely be replaced!!!!

Excuse me, but whatever happened to just changing the channel? Did it go the way of the dinosaur?
So you didn't like what the women on "The View" had to say. Frankly, I don't watch the program - it's not my cup of tea.
Nonetheless, I don't complain about it - I simply turn the channel on the remote or turn the tv OFF if I can't find something interesting.

My favorite was Whoopi asking McCain if she needed to worry about slavery again. It is OK to have opposite views but these women were out of control! The show was not fair and balanced b/c it is not a news show. It is a bunch of gossipy women blabbing. I'm still not sure who actually watches that show. Barbara Walters must be using the investment as a loss on her taxes.

I started watching the view again while doing chores and it's just bad when it comes to their political arguments. Barbara started a political coment to which Joy started in on Elizabeth and other random republicans. She was pretty nasty with her remarks and then when Elizabeth tried to stick up for herself, Joy told her to get a sense of humor. Barbara joined in on her as well and only Sherri kept quiet.Barbara then acts shocked that there is an argument and quickly tells everyone to stop fighting.
I understand that they can say whatever they want, but is it too hard to tell some of those women to tone down their attitudes a little and to have a little more respect for others opinions?
As for Joy telling others to "get a sense of humor", I think a lot of us DO have a good sense of humor, it's just that nobody needs to be the butt oh Joys bad jokes. She's a tacky lady.

Because this show is called "The View", all views are recognized. Don't get upset however when folk are called to the carpet for their views, that's how it goes, don't watch! As for Elizabeth, just when I think she can't sound more brainwashed, she does. She sounds like she listens to O'Reilly and Hannity on FoxNews, then do nothing but repeat what she hears. She doesn't appear to be thinking for herself, but again, it is HER View.

I dislike the View too. It wasn't okay to call Palin "stupid" either, if she deosn't have something nice to say then she shouldn't have said it at all. But I guess we're all entitled to our 1st Admendment rights. One show I enjoy is the M and J show. They tend to have 2 people on who are on different sides of an issue which I really like. It's unlikely they will cancel the show however.

Um... I am fine with the idea that you want to quit watching the show because you don't agree with the hosts' views... but that's just what they are... views. I have very rarely seen anything that would resemble journalism on the show. But that's the point. It's a roundtable discussion, it's a talk show. It's not a political forum and it's not news. I applaud women in the media for speaking their minds, but when I don't agree, I just turn the tv off.

First of all I beleive Joy started her career as a comedienne. I find her entertaining in small doses. Mark my words: Mrs. Palin will be back in Alaska after the election doing what she has done very well for the duration. This is nothing but a "get your feet wet" excerize for 2012. Which I predict won't happen. Thinking too far ahead came back to bite the party in the proverbial back end (Alaska).

I have a strong aversion to Elizabeth so I do not watch the show. However, I did catch a video of the latest spat on the show involving her.
Every time I think she can't present herself as any more closed minded and narrow focused she surprises me.
Maybe when she grows up she'll learn how to listen to others and expand her mind a bit. The woman is a complete idiot who doesn't have an original thought of her own.
They should have left her on the island (or whatever remote corner they were in) after Survivor was over.
However, I handle this by taking the show for what it is meant to be....entertainment...and not watching it.

why do you watch?
Look, I don't much care for McCain's propaganda filled ads which NEVER cite any factual sources and just twist around heresay and suspicion. But I can't tell him not to run his ads. All I can do is not watch.
And I don't like that he appears to think so little of women that he ditched his first wife because she "got too fat," married a wealthy "Barbie doll" and thinks he can sway the female vote by choosing a wholly inexperienced and unqualified woman who "looks hot." But I can't make him pick someone else. I can only cast my vote for another candidate.
And truth be told, "The View" isn't "journalism," it's entertainment. It's no more "journalism" than "Survivor" and "The Real World" is "reality." I'll bet if they were supporting McCain and trashing the "Liberal Feminists" you wouldn't be calling them biased.

I never was one for talk shows that tried to tell me how to live my life as a woman.
In my opinion... most of the times the message sent out is "Live the way you want, make your own choices..... unless you chose differently from me."
And fair and unbiased journalism? Whenever THAT happens, the liberal media gets upset and tries to pass "equal time" laws to silence people who disagree with them.

I disagree with just about everything Elizabeth says. I don't like her personality and do wish she would leave.
That being said, I admire her for going there everyday and standing up to the other women. She defends her opinions to the end. Most people would simply quit as other hosts have done in the past. She doesn't give up. I don't think most people could do that.

I have to say I agree with Tami L. Sure everyone on The View has the right to express their opinion, but when it comes across as angry and hateful... What happened to expressing an opinion without taking it out on those who don't agree with you? I appreciated when Whoopie said that Palin's sarcasm bothers her, but she didn't sound like she was bashing her. Joy on the other hand has been coming across really ugly about the whole thing. When someone acts like that I have no interest in hearing another word they say. If she would take the anomostic tone out of it I'd be more likely to consider her view. Not that she'd change my opinion, but I'd have a more open mind. Kindness doesn't mean weakness and it goes a long way.

Since I made an observation about Sarah Palin far below, I felt obligated to return after her debate with Joe Biden.
She did a good job. Not perfect, but nobody, including Biden, is. They both made a few mistakes. I can't keep track of our generals' names either. She held her own, and debated attacks pretty well. Yes, she must have been coached quite a bit, but she showed she has the ability to learn, and learn fairly quickly. Yes, she still has some annoying quirks, like winking and her insistance on using the term "Joe Sixpack", but many people have something annoying about their public persona.
I don't have a horse in this race, and I don't particularly lean one way or the other. However, I just wanted to say I thought she held her own against a formidible opponent.

Last I checked The View wasn't a news outlet although they do discuss currrent events. Therefore, I'm not sure where you got the idea that it would be a fair and unbiased. By the way, I saw the show your complaining about and I don't think they were being "horrrible". I thought they were expressing legitamate concerns about Palin and her lack of expirtise. Concerns that a vast majority of Americans have especially since everyone is acutely aware of what inexpirience in the White House will reduce the country in 8 short years.

"What happened to fair and unbiased journalism?"
I think you should pose that question to Fox News, CNN, and every other organization out there that purports to call itself "news media." "Fair and balanced reporting" is a thing of the past, and you can thank corporations looking at the bottom line for that change.
But I would hardly call The View "journalism" except by some very vague definition.
And I'm just curious, if they were disrepectful to Democrats, such as Obama, would you still feel the same way?

"The View" is not a news show, and the "hosts" are not journalists. If this is where anyone goes to get their news, boy are they in trouble.
The"appeal" of the show is the bickering that goes on.

Sadly, I had a couple friends who used to think for themselves and would be willing to discuss both sides of the political fence. Then Obama came along and now they seemed to have lost the ability to think for themselves, hate republicans (any one who is one for some reason) and now they say their middle names are Hussein to honor Obama. It's pretty creepy. I want to know what is going on with some of these people, why the sudden new strange attitudes on politics. These people aren't even willing to have a decent debate and are quick to bring up Obama and then start a fight if you don't agree or want to rave about him.
Yeah, let's talk about brainwashing. Sheesh.

I happened to have a day off work yesterday (10/01/08) and turned to the "View".
The only two people there with any sense were Whoopie and Shari. Both were trying to defuse Joys comments but she would have none of it. (WQalters was useless in her attempt to control Joy's comments).
Its amazing how they had Rosie O'Donnell removed for her personal (and in my opinion very biased) views.
But Joy sat there and demeaned and slandered Palin, calling her stuopid among other things and will probably remain on the show.
They need to get rid of this show entirely. It just seems to have nothing more to offer but a soapbox for the co-hosts to spew forth their personal views and be slanderous in doing so.

I'm just going to give you the same advice I've given my mom when she complains about the "ladies" on The View. For the love of God, stop watching it!!!
I refuse to give that show ratings. The only times I have seen it have been when it's broadcast at the gym, and I can't run away from it on the treadmill.
There's always some little cat fight going on that overshadows what the show has been about (Elisabeth, Rosie, Star...please!), don't even get me started!
But, my mother continues to watch, I guess for her own masochistic reasons, but other than that, I say we all just tune out!

I'm a bleeding heart liberal feminist. And I can't stand The View. The talking over one another is just way too annoying for my tastes.
And while I loathe the joke that McCain has become, why on earth would they invite someone like him onto the show if they aren't truly interested in what he has to say? What is the point in that? It only serves to make themselves look bad. And how can you learn anything if you're not going to open your mind and listen to someone's answers?
Of course, the opposite of The View is FOX News, so there IS equal time.

I watched exactly 8 minutes of this "interview" - then I turned off the TV, walked over to the computer and sent a letter to ABC informing them that I would not tune in again.
Regardless of political belief, there is no excuse in my mind for the blatant disrespect I witnessed. Asking questions and then talking over his answers, rude body language, arguementative replies....I thought it was disgusting. I was taken aback with Joy, Barbara and Whoopi.
They may not agree with ANYTHING John McCain has to say, but there is still a level of professionalism expected - at least I think so.
If I want to see this sort of junk, I could turn on Springer. :)

I haven't watched The View in years, but I did see Joy on Larry King Live a couple of times lately, and I have to agree that some of her remarks are questionable. I think she's teetering on trying to be funny and being annoying. I always liked her on The View in the past, but I think this election is clouding her judgment.

The View is not about "fair and unbiased journalism". It's a show about opinions. That being said, Joy is absolutely horrid and painful to watch. I don't mind watching and hearing the liberal point of view but Joy just mouths off total and complete ignorance. She's the main reason why I can't watch this show for more than 5 minutes at a time. W. Goldberg at leasts tries to maintain a little bit of balance (but not much). She's a lot better than Rosie. Elizabeth is also painful to watch but for a different reason. I agree with most of what she says but she doesn't debate very well due to a lack of knowledge about a lot of topics.

Well, with so many opinionated women, there is bound to be a bias slanted towards the biggest yap. On the View, is is towards the liberal side, no question. You do have Elizabeth though, and she won't keep her mouth shut for too long.
The liberal-conservative conflict is possibly one aspect that some viewers find "entertaining".
Maybe it is because I am a guy, but I can't watch this show for more than 2 minutes. It is almost as if these people are trying to give women a direction. Or, make them feel that it is ok for them to feel a certain way. Maybe it is a female thing. I think women have their direction already, and don't need a bunch of mother hens to show them the way. Just my opinion, but I am not their audience.
On the subject of Ms. Palin, I think it is great that a woman is a VP candidate (wouldn't it have been neat if it were Pres). I don't think she is "stupid," but boy she sure doesn't seem to have much pertinent knowledge. She is very attractive, and probably shoots a gun 10 times more accurately than Cheney. It would be great to slug back some beers in a lodge with her, but I hope for McCain's sake she steps it up several notches. Right now his chances aren't looking good for various reasons. I guess the VP candidate isn't that important, but there's no need to look downright foolish. You know, like that other VP candidate, Mr. Potatoehead.
