Is PlanetFeedback anti-gay?

Recently I responded to a letter written by Jerry M. Jerry M was upset that McDonald's promotes Gay and Lesbian organizations. Jerry M wanted McDonald's to stop supporting these organizations and threatened to sell his stocks. I replied to this letter suggesting that McDonald's should also stop supporting African Americans and other minorities. It was a sarcastic comment meant to point out how ridiculous Jerry's letter was. My reply was removed from the website.

I would like to know why my comment was deleted yet Jerry's letter remains. Does PlanetFeedback only allow anti-gay letters but not anti-African American letters? Is there a list of groups it is acceptable to write discriminatory letters against? If there is a list, the gays must be on it!

They have always monitored letters/comments in PFB by dulynoted (aka duttycalls) Sun October 5, 2008 @ 1:12 PM

but you haven't responded to them and haven't acknowledged their posts
at all. Here is a pertinent quote:

"Even though the letter writer clearly expects
McDonalds to change their stance on this issue, his letter didn't
contain inflammatory or inappropriate language whereas your comment
did. We have tightened our moderation of comments considerably in the
past six months and we no longer allow commenters to attack letter
writers just because they dont like what the letter writer said."

I'll resist the temptation to try to interpret this because it seems
indelibly clear. If you need further explanation, perhaps you should
discuss this directly with PFB via email.

Here is one tip - PFB does not lean on the side of "obvious sarcasm".
They lean on the side of a post being misinterpreted. This was also
spelled out in their response.

They never responded in the past. I have already stated that I'm glad
there is now some moderation on this site. I still disagree that my
post needed to be removed but at least they have given a reason.

Adam...the "new" rules are... by Chris M Mon October 6, 2008 @ 5:33 PM

Your comment was removed because it went well beyond challenging the
letter writer's suggestion that a company stop supporting certain
organizations etc. Even though it was sarcastic, it could have been
easily misunderstood by the casual reader.

As for PFB being "anti-gay", nothing could be further from the truth.
You must not have read the other comments on Jerry's letter because
almost of all of them are "pro-gay" and none of those were removed.
To claim we are "anti-gay" just because YOUR comment was removed is
preposterous.

As for the letter itself, we do not require that folks who wish to
provide feedback to companies confine themselves to politically
correct topics. Even though the letter writer clearly expects
McDonalds to change their stance on this issue, his letter didn't
contain inflammatory or inappropriate language whereas your comment
did. We have tightened our moderation of comments considerably in the
past six months and we no longer allow commenters to attack letter
writers just because they dont like what the letter writer said.
