...and I'll echo what the other's said--Check your order before you
leave the restaurant!
I'm not sure where your from so maybe Red Lobster is the best Seafood
place in your neck of the woods, but I, for one, do not consider the
food at Red Lobster to be of good quality. I guess I'm spoiled, in
that I live right on the coast and quality seafood is not hard to
find. I only go to Red Lobster once in a blue moon for their endless
shrimp special.
Flounder is considered safe for pregnant women but I believe there is
still small levels of mercury in it. I'd like to know why you drove 35
minutes to get take-out food? And even if the restaurant screwed up
the order, I don't think you should be compensated for time and gas
because even if the order was correct, the drive & gas used would of
been the same.

I don't think it is safe if she is eating it every other day. by Katesha C. Wed November 5, 2008 @ 8:34 AM

I agree with both of you. We ate there as a family when I was young,
but I have had no interest in my adult years in returning. I met a
cook from RL a year ago, and he told me a lot of the fish coming into
the kitchen looked questionable before it was cooked.

I can see how you folks living in areas known for fresh seafood would
have little interest in eating at RL.

ALWAYS check your food when getting carry out! It doesn't matter if
it's McDonald's, Burger King, Red Lobster, or Outback Curbside. This
is especially true if you live as far away as you say you do.

Yes, Red Lobster made a mistake, and for that, they should rectify the
situation. However, I hope that you realize that assuming human error
won't occur when filling an order is not only naive, but also a
mistake on your part. There's no way they can or will refund you, or
probably not even offer you replacement food now that it's 2 days
after the fact.

As far as time and gas go, you chose to drive to a distant location.
That is a personal choice, and not the fault of Red Lobster. Just
remember if you choose to visit this location again, check your food
before leaving. That way, you can show the staff that the order is
wrong, while at the same time saving you the stress and anger of
driving all the way home without the proper food.

I do understand your anger. However, it is rather foolish to believe
that human error won't occur.

You are not getting a refund. You should have checked your order
before leaving the restaurant.

You said this order was pick up. And if you picked it up whey didn't
you check the order to make sure all the items were there BEFORE you
left?
Fish is not a healthy food to be eating in the first two trimesters of
a pregnancy because of the mercury.

What I cannot understand is why you cannot make stuffed flounder on
your own? I mean its not that difficult a dish to make and you will
probably surprise yourself and it will taste better than Red Lobsters.

You did do that didn't you? And where is this Red Lobster located?
The company needs to know so they can bring this complaint to the
proper restaurant.

Ugh. All of that food would be rather gross to eat, after a 35 minute
drive home!

danielle t.,

While you are waiting for your response from Red Lobster you might
want to review the recommendations on this site:
