The Dangers of Pizza Hut

it probably would be a good idea to call the police. they can't do
anything, because the evidence is circumstancial, however, having a
police report could be valuable in case this isn't over. i suspect it
is, though. obviously, the guy got reprimanded or fired and decided
to take it out on you. going to pick up the pizza is the smart
choice. my son and i recently discovered Little Caesar's pizza. they
are cheap and delicious. one of the ways they keep costs down is
there is no delivery, so we pick it up. we have always been treated
wonderfully there. in the future, please be very careful to whom you
give out your personal info.

First of all.... yeah that totally sucks. It sounds like they got
yelled at the took it out on you for it....

I'd say call corporate back and tell them just what happened. Don't
call the local store, just call the head quarters.


and as for harassing calls from a private number?
if you're getting calls to a landline you can set your phone up to
block calls from a private number... and that in order to reach you
they will have to remove "caller privacy" from their phones.

So.... you'll not be bothered by the pizza crybaby...
Or.... they'll be stupid enough to call you from a non-private phone,
and then you can file a police report.

I'm probably going to repeat a few things, but this seemed easier than
responding to multiple comments below.

For one - call the police. Note the dates and times of the calls, and
give them as complete a "history" as you can of what was said to you
during the calls. Hopefully they'll be able to view the phone records
and at least get the person for making threatening calls.

For two - I wouldn't order from this Pizza Hut again, just to be safe,
unless you've been using them for years without a problem. As
unfortunate as it is, some people in the food industry aren't grown up
enough not to exact some form of petty revenge.

For three - it's good that you're reporting this to Pizza Hut as well,
as they should at least attempt to work with the Manager / Regional
Manager and customer service to determine where the breakdown occurred
that they didn't respond in a timely manner to resolve the issue.

My only suggestion would be to try to edit the letter down a bit, as
it is a bit long and a bit hard to read through the whole thing.

I hope you do get a response from Pizza Hut, and I hope you to to the
cops on this one as well. Please let us know how it all turns out.

I wouldn't order from this pizza place again. Who knows what they will
do to your food for complaining. I would have just put it in my own
oven and heated it up! No biggie!

I have had pizza delived late bcause of traffic issues etc. It's not
that hard to heat it up yourself.

That's terrible! I'm thinking though, maybe the pizza boy slacked off
and went out and delayed the delivery for some reason and maybe was
fired b.c of youyr call? Since he still had your info, maybe he
decided to prank you as blame for his situation.

This may not be what happened but I'm a conspiracy theorist!

Just a suggestion. I would strongly recommend you not order those
free pizzas. God only knows what they will do to the food. If you
do order and pick it up use a fake name!

You might be able to block "private" numbers from your phone. Check
the front of your phone book to see if this is a service offerred in
your area. The caller will get a message stating that you do not
accept anonymous calls and that they must unblock their number to call
you.

Heh. I thought this would be a letter about cholesterol, trans fats,
etc.

Isn't there a number you can hit after a harrassing phone call that
automatically logs it with the phone company? I know they say that
after the number (which they can access even if you see it as private)
is logged 3 times, they initiate charges, even though they may not
share with you who has been calling.

If I were you, I'd be reporting the calls to the police if I wanted
them to stop right away.

Where I live, telecommunications harassment is taken seriously. Call
the cops and make a report.

yes, even after the fact, they CAN find out who called your home. All
they need to do is get a court order for the phone records. Phone
companies are used to getting these sort of requests and have folks
who work with law enforcement to get the records needed.

Ummmmm, Do people not check their pizza's when they have the
delivered???? If you checked them you would know they were cold,
greasy, burnt etc etc.


Secondly you cannot prove a pizza hut employee made those calls, so
calling the police would not do much. It could have been someone that
you told the incident to playing a prank on you.

Thirdly, you shouldnt be paying for pizza with a credit card, if you
cant afford to pay cash for it, you dont need it. You never said you
did pay with a card but you mentioned people do, which is very true!

What has the World come to? There are truly some whack jobs out
there!

Even though the phone number shows as private there are ways that the
police department can locate where the call originiated. And since you
were threatened and it appears to be from an employee of Pizza Hut
they can investigate this after you file a report for harrassment and
threat of bodily injury.

Also its may sound trivial but its against company policy to use a
customers information for anything other than what it was intended for
with this company. Check into your legal options with that also...but
I believe the employee will be fired if it turns out he is the person
who made these calls.

Please keep us posted...it will be interesting to see if Pizxa Hut
responds or ignores you completely.

Holy Moley! I would have called the cops. I had a similar situation.


A few years ago, I ordered a pie from dominoes. It gets delivered
late with a piece missing, we get coupons and a free pie, no big deal.
However...it BECAME a big deal when one night a man tried to let
himself in to my home at 10:30 at night, claiming to be looking for a
woman friend of his, saying we were hiding her there. My husband slams
the door on the guys head practically, and we lock the door and call
911. The man and his accomplice are still outside, and it turns
out...the accomplice was the Dominoes pizza delivery person who gave
our food to us late and with a slice missing!
