Dear Brad F.,
Does the F stand for fruitcake? It took the entire world twelve bloody years to rid itself of Adolf Hitler and his Nazis. They never went away only into hiding like the roaches they are. Maybe you are a Nazi or just an idiot. Hitler is not just a name but an icon of the HOLOCAUST!!! Did you ever take the time to study history or are you just too wicked, lazy and stupid? You could repent. Where there is life there is hope. I hope you repent and consider the victims of WWII.
Sincerely,
Don R. White

Are you saying that Walmart made the cake for them? Thats news to me. I remember one time I had walmart develope a roll of film for me 7 years ago. There was one picture taken of me where I was in my underwear which I didn't think was scandalous. It certainly wasn't any worse than the pictures of models in the underwear isle at walmart. Unfortunatly when I came to pickup the pictures they said they refused to develope it because of the offensive picture. Sounds like the "Politically Correct goons" are operating afterall

This is absolutly absurd, people are giving them exactly what these low lives wanted. They got 2 minuets of fame in the local spotlight. Why someone would want that to be heard it crazy.I can totally understand why shoprite would not print the full name. They could have just put the first name and nothing would have happend but,I agree with the person when they said it was about trying to get in the spot light, well now Walmart will never do that again either so what did they really accomplish? These people are sick and it's not about there children it's about there twisted minds we all know why they are on SSDI,for mental disability. They should have taken there kids away a long time ago.Now when they get older there going to have alot of problems and bad days on the play ground,it is going to turn into hate and where does that get them? They need to take there kids into another safe enviroment and try to mend what has already been broken.

Yeah! Shoprite, you shouldn't judge me for wanting you to write HAPPY BIRTHDAY I HATE JEWS on my son's cake. Why can't you just make my little boy happy? What is WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE?
Shoprite offered to provide a blank space on the cake for the family to write their son's name, but they refused. Seems like "Happy Birthday Adolf" would have been perfectly acceptable, but these 'parents' just wanted to stir up headlines about their disgusting attitudes.

The only thing I have to say about this subject is this: Why would any baker worry about what was written on a cake? Even profanities. After all, this is not a public display, it's a personalized cake which only the baker and the consumer will ever see.
I have a different view of the parents who would name their kid that name, and even their motivation for including his entire name on the cake. Obviously, it was meant to stir up something, for whatever reason in their dark minds. But I do believe in freedom of speech, especially in this case which, like I said, was not a public display, but a private affair.

Homework assignment:
Go rent "The Producers." Not the horrible remake (based on the Broadway show). The original. A much better movie.

Give me a break. These people are only looking for some time in the spotlight in their otherwise pathetic trashy redneck life. If they really cared about getting the kid's name on the cake, they would have just bought a tube of icing an written it on there themselves. But this is their weak attempt at making some sort of political statement, the best they know how in their underdevelped minds.
Let's just move along and not give them the attention they don't deserve.

Last time I checked, Wal Mart was looking into changing its cake decorating policies to prevent this in the future. Sorry 'bout your luck.

Personally, I don't see why the boy's middle name had to be included on the cake..."Adolf" most likely would not have elicited a bad response.
I can see why some stores might not want to print such things on a cake...it could be a prank as far as they know, and if anyone found out about it, their store might gain a bad reputation for advocating Nazism or something equally absurd. I think this may have been a lose-lose situation for Shoprite.
Peronally, I think the parents need to be smacked for naming their child after someone who carried out mass genocide. I know the kid is going to suffer a lot growing up and when he's an adult due to that name.

Here's what I never understand about these things: who contacted the press?
No one, except for the person writing on the cake, and those attending the party, would have known.
It seems that Wal-Mart is concerned that people are offended by the cake. While it's clear why they'd be offended, who are these people and how did they find out?
The answer is: someone spilled the beans.
Who?

The more I read about these people the more offensive I find them. Neither of them work. They collect SSDI. Now, I have nothing against SSDI but they say he can't work as a landscaper or in a gas station due to emphesema and she can't waitress due to a bad back. It seems to me that they are both young enough to train in other fields that can enable them to work. Their disabilities don't stop them from having a kid every year. Their house has swatstikas all over it and their car used to but NJ family services made them remove them from the car. Psychologists say these names will cause the children to have untold problems in the future.

I'm glad this cake was made and I'm glad it made the news so more people will realize that there are some serious racists out there. I love that the family is so ignorant, each of their three kids has an inflammatory name (middle names are "Aryan" and "Himler"), and yet they insist they're not racist.
And these people vote. Great.

I am one of many that are in agreement on another site discussing this, but I may be at the extreme here. (That may not be surprising?! *laughs*)
First, I applaud ShopRite. They have a policy to not print whatever it is that they may deem offensive. Fair enough to me. I won't kill Walmart for printing it, but I would have been happier if they didn't.
That said, I actually think these parents are unfit and would have no problems with the children being removed for their own good. I feel that these names are actually a form of child abuse, setting these children up for ridicule and jokes for their life.
It would not surprise me if they are ashamed of their names. This, all for the sake of the parents wants, not the kids. Hitler, while a smart man, was a demon and a monster. I think the parents are trashy. I don't believe them for a second that they are't racist.
The dad is a Holocaust denier and are quoted with the following: "The Campbells have swastikas in each room of their home, the rented half of a one-story duplex just outside Milford, a borough in Hunterdon County. They say they aren't racists but believe races shouldn't mix."
Nice. I think they are much more of a problem than Walmart or ShopRite and I feel really bad for these sweet kids.

Actually, I sort of agree with you Brad. While I certainly wouldn't name MY child Adolph Hitler, I do support the parents' rights to name their kids whatever they want. And while I understand ShopRite's position on this, I don't think it's really their call to make. The parents are paying customers; if they want their cake to say "Happy Birthday Adolph Hitler", they should get it.
Now, before everyone jumps on my case, no, I don't think Adolph Hitler is a great choice for a name. And I can't decide if I find it amusing or galling that the parents supposedly can't understand what all the fuss is about. You name your kid Adolph Hitler and you don't understand what people find offensive about it? Then again, for parents who also named one of their kids Aryan Nation, I guess this type of reaction would be a shock.
The parents claim they're not racist. They may be right. However, I think they're something else entirely. I'll let everyone else figure out what the "something else" is.

WalMart is the corporation that REFUSED to sell Teletubbies because Jerry Falwell said Tinky Winky was gay and somehow they should be PRAISED for honoring Adolf Hitler? Amazing!
These parents are clearly warped (at best) or downright cruel at worst to name their child something like this and then insist that the FULL name be put on the cake. Obviously they are trying to stir the pot and I don't see why their perverse obsession with someone so evil and maniacal should be encouraged.
This is HARDLY about political correctness. First Amendment rights in this country protect these folks right to call their kid whatever they want, but it DOES NOT entitle them to coerce or manipulate others into going along with their sick little games.
If Mommie Dearest wants her little angel's full name on a birthday cake, then SHE should learn how to bake!

I am going to close my eyes and count to ten, then pretend you never compared Martin Luther King to Adolf Hitler.
If these parents asked me to make a cake for a kid of that name, I'd call CP. This isn't about free speech, this is about giving a child the name of someone who killed millions of people (including a good chunk of my family) and continues to spread hate long after his death.

Why are people dogging WalMart about this? There's no legal reason not to make the cake, and why should a kid be denied a cake just because his parents have some issues?

I think the names are offensive to more than just "some." Heck, I know many European countries outright ban the name and Hitler's immediate family never had children because they wanted the name to die with them.
Shoprite can turn away whomever they want; it's a business and if they want to lose the money, than so be it. At least their integrity is still intact.

Shoprite is a wonderful place to shop.
WalMart only repects and cares about money, so it isn't surprising they made the cake. They do NOT respect their customers. The people there may not even know who Hitler was.
I just noticed - this WalMart is MY WalMart! What kind of coincidence is that? How wonderful to know this is happening in my backyard.

Good for Shopright.
Another reason not to shop at Walmart (not that I really needed one).
Comparing the names Jesus and Mohammad to that of Adolf Hitler. Intersting comparison.
